I need to lose 2st in 8 weeks

First of all I know this is not a healthy amount to lose in 8 weeks and I don't know if it's even possible. But I have put on 2st since last summer (was 2.5st but I have lost 6lbs this week) and I need as much of it off as possible before my holiday in 8 weeks, or I am going to have to buy all of my bikinis and holiday clothes all over again. I'm so annoyed at myself because I spent a fortune last summer buying some lovely things, and none of it fits me. Is anyone interested in doing a lose-as-much-as-possible-before-summer challenge?

The only way I've ever lost that much weight over 8 weeks without insane exercise (because sod that)is doing a VLCD. I use exalted because they do offers. £80 for a months supply and that includes all your food. Millions of pounds cheaper than lighter life. I only do shakes and bars as the meals are disgusting.

madcatladyforever · 01/05/2019 13:30

Exante

CIT80 · 01/05/2019 13:34

@madcatladyforever ok so avoiding the meals could be an option - will have a think tonight - the 4 week plan is currently reduced so that’s making me tempted

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 01/05/2019 13:40

I'm not that hungry on 1200, personally; I mean, my stomach is certainly rumbling by lunchtime but I figure it makes sense to be properly hungry before a meal! Some days I come in at less than 1000 and those days I would be peckish by bedtime but It just makes me excited for weigh-in the next morning : ) I'm replacing the joy of food with the joy of watching numbers drop.

Hiphopopotamus · 01/05/2019 14:13

It’s because I love my food so much that I’m doing exante. When I try and cut down on food I become food obsessed and keep looking for ways to give myself food treats and reward myself. It’s only by taking all options off the table that I can do it. It’s brutal but I think it might work!

lavenderlove · 01/05/2019 14:28

I thought exante was a typo when it was first mentioned as I've never heard of it! I'm surprised because I thought I had tried just about every diet haha

It’s basically lighter life/Cambridge without the counselling, and therefore a lot cheaper! Plus there’s always discount codes floating around (I promise I don’t work for them - and I’m very early days in. Ask me in a month and see if I’m still so complimentary!)

Myheartbelongsto · 01/05/2019 18:14

lipotrim is your best friend here op but it's not for the faint hearted.

I did it about 10 years ago when I had my children and lost just over 5 stone in just under 3 months!

I started it again on easter sat and I'm 11lbs down already.

It's amazing stuff and it actually works!

Spirit86 · 06/05/2019 15:01

I've started Exante today. I am doing the meals rather than the shakes because I just never have the stomach for shakes because I can't do powdered drinks.

I'll let you know how they taste. So far I've only had the omelette and it is very strange (and tastes nothing like an omelette) but not inedible. I know I will feel less restricted if I actually have something I can chew than simply sip on.

Last time I managed shakes for probably around 2 weeks and lost 9lbs in the first week so it definitely does work it's just a sticking at it game really.

Cottonwoolmouth · 06/05/2019 15:05

Can I join in? I’m going away In 67 days and I’m too fat for last years holiday clothes. I’m not buying any more!

I’m starting Cambridge diet tomorrow to try and shift at least a stone.

CIT80 · 07/05/2019 21:26

How are the exante ladies getting on ? I’m feeling better from doing the 30 day shred but the weight isn’t dropping as quick as I would like 😬

Justbreathing · 08/05/2019 09:26

A big late to this but I really need to lose 2st

Problems are: wine
Meals out- for work. Foody type lunches. Though only probably once a week.
Wine again!

All these shake things sound great but I can’t see myself actually going to be able to do them. Because of work. I work in the hospitality industry.
So I am going to do 1200 calories p/d and try and do the 5:2 also. So at least 2 days at 500 calories.
Hopefully I can shift 3lb per week. Or is that totally unrealistic Hmm

Justbreathing · 08/05/2019 09:27

Oh also I can’t exercise! Due to an injury!!! Aaah

CIT80 · 08/05/2019 11:03

@justbreathing that sounds like a great plan - what injury do you have ? Could you exercise either just upper body or lower body (the parts not connected to the injury )

Justbreathing · 08/05/2019 13:12

Fractured leg bone.
So I’ve been sedentary for a while. Hence piling on even more lbs!!!!

I guess I could do something upper body. You mean like weight lifting

I am starving and a bit grumpy today Sad

Margot33 · 08/05/2019 13:42

I've got a stone to lose to fit into my Summer clothes! I've increased my exercise so it's now 40 minutes hiit and an hour on the bike. This fat will burn!!! My diet is great so no problems there. Its when I stop exercising, it piles on so quickly!

louella99 · 08/05/2019 13:54

Oooh i'm joining too! Have lost a stone very gradually but still have around 9lb of 'baby weight' and I'd love to shift it.

imnottoofussed · 08/05/2019 14:11

I'm joining in too, I have at least a stone to lose in 6.5 weeks. I was planning to start the egg fast on Monday and see how I get on with that for 5 days, then move onto the keto diet. I've already made my soups for lunch this week and am off to the cinema and out for tea on Sunday hence only starting it on Monday Grin.

Oysterbabe · 08/05/2019 19:39

I've had great results on OMAD, 20lbs off in 2 months and I only need to lose 10 more. I take weekends off to and just eat normally.

That's 2.5lbs a week - totally achievable. Not sure if it's your thing but slimming world is good for that kind of consistent loss. Good luck!

almostsunny · 09/05/2019 07:52

Can I join too - I also have 2 stone or maybe 2.5 but I really struggle with socialising - how can people diet and still go out and see friends? I'm really good all week then blow it on one day at the weekend with a meal out and too much alcohol 🍷

Justbreathing · 09/05/2019 08:08

@almostsunny
I’m the same as you! I have to really end up restricting myself during the week.
Because I have no ability not to have mash on the side. Or share that second bottle of wine. Or turn down a trip to the pub with a Sunday lunch!!!
Confused

Justbreathing · 09/05/2019 08:13

I am currently 12.7
Will update the end of next week. Really want to be 10.7

woodcutbirds · 09/05/2019 08:17

If you low carb on about 600-800 calories a day you could do it. Eat loads of raw salads for carbs and spend the calories on protein.

Add HIIT exercise - doing very intensive jogging on the spot for just one minute an hour will keep your metabolism up.
