Spring has sprung; the clocks have changed and Easter is just around the corner.

As the days get longer, let's spring clean our diets and blitz away the extra pounds.

Don't let the chocolate bunnies tempt you too much!

Popping in to say I have been crap crap crapitty crap again, BUT This week I seem to be in the right head space again. Bought the Pinch of Nom cookbook which is great. Trying first recipe tonight. Have tracked last couple of days on MFP and been within calories even with a few glasses of wine.

Am going to ignore anything weight loss related other than MFP on FB and this thread. I was folllowing a few other pages and groups on FB but I just end up confused and feeling crap.

So I’m back where I was this time last year I think. Haven’t weighed this week but I’ll weigh tomorrow and see where I am. Holiday in ten weeks. Want to fit my last years clothes.

Plan is a couple of weeks of MFP calorie counting and then I might add in a couple of fast days a week.

Will catch up on the thread later. Hope you are all well!

goingonabearhunt1 · 02/05/2019 09:11

Ended up having a fair amount of wine last night as i went to the theater but was still within my calorie limit (just!) So could have been worse. Been making lunch and tracking it every day which is also saving me money. Gonna try not to drink tonight even though I have tmo off so got that Friday feeling Blush Might weigh tmo morning if I'm feeling brave (before all the Hen do damage)

QuimReaper · 02/05/2019 11:45

Welcome back Peridot! Ten weeks is a good amount of time, I think you'll be fine Smile

going drinking wine and staying within calories is the gold standard, well done!

I did the L W-R 7 minute workout again this morning! Didn't do a second one but I'm still stupidly pleased with myself for getting up early and doing it, even if it was only seven bleddy minutes Grin I'm feeling it in my side muscles (?) which is helping me feel virtuous.

Yesterday was a mixed bag, not as many steps as I'd have liked, but I'm already closing in on 70K for the week and feeling caaaaautiously optimistic for tomorrow's weigh-in...

flobella · 02/05/2019 12:53

@QuimReaper! Thank you, been lurking for a while during my time trying to lose weight...I joined slimming world about 5 months ago and followed that for about 4 months, switching to straightforward calorie counting for the past month to get the last bit of weight off. I still go to the slimming world weigh ins each week as it keeps me focused and ensures I don't 'put it off' in terms of healthy-ish eating. If I didn't have a weigh in tomorrow, for example, I might be thinking 'oh I'll just get a takeaway tonight as my husband is late home tonight and we are having a little bit of work done on our kitchen today.' But because I really want to see a positive change on the scales tomorrow, I know I need to be careful in the lead-up to that and even if I slip up a little bit over the bank holiday weekend, I know that I need to get back on it again as the next weigh in will be creeping up on me.

Yoga With Adriene has some great abs stuff - maybe it was one of her 'workouts' you did?

I really need to get back to the LWR and YWA this weekend. I would also like to try and go for a run as I have volunteered to do a 10k in June with a friend and I don't think I could even run 1k at the moment! Argh!

flobella · 03/05/2019 09:45

Lost 1.5lbs this week so 2lbs to go!

Thinking of doing the 30 day shred every day this week to see if that gives things a boost. I’d really like to lose 2lbs this week...

AutumnNymph · 04/05/2019 12:54

Well done @flobella!

Welcome back @peridot!

In my ongoing saga with menopause- yesterday I suddenly started a period after 120 days. Not sure if this is the last hurrah but am snug in bed with a hot water bottle to cope.

The GP wants to wait a bit more to start HRT now.

I have been off the wagon completely last week and hence the silence as well. It’s a difficult week as it was my brothers 10th death anniversary and the grief hit me suddenly all over again. Am fine now but needed a few days to wallow and my hormones being all over the place didn’t help at all.

I have rejoined the gym and have been working out again which feels good - I haven’t however weighed since last Monday or Tuesday I think when I was still at 56.8 - I would really like to be more toned and fit for my mid July holiday. The plan for May is to up the exercise and eat healthy. I would love it if I knocked off another’s kilo and went on the 55s but for this weekend it’s going to relaxing with a book until I feel like myself again.

Autumn Flowers what a rotten week. Glad to hear you are looking after yourself. Take care. Sometimes dieting is too far down the agenda.

I'm away for the second weekend in a row. As last week lots of exercise but lots of eating to go with it.

I've got a couple of weeks with no socialising after tomorrow so I'm hoping to have a good stretch of sensible eating. I have got into some very bad habits lately. I'm feeling yuck and bloated.

Happy bank holiday weekend everyone Grin

AutumnNymph · 04/05/2019 19:55

@KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse right beside you in the crap eating alley- did your medication situation get sorted ?

I haven’t budged from bed today except to feed myself and have just let DD watch as much telly or play as much street fighter as she wants.

I did manage to cook a healthy meal for us but have the. Ruined it by scoffing down my body weight in chocolate.

Have a fab long weekend everyone @kick hope you are going somewhere sunny.

Peridot1 · 05/05/2019 10:37

Hi all. As part of being good I walked into town on Friday and went flying on some uneven pavement. Landed on my face mostly. So I am grazed and bruised and have been feeling quite shaky and fragile. Self medicated with chocolate digestives.............and wine.

Back on it tomorrow. Although not sure I will be going out walking until the bruising subsides. We do have a treadmill so will use that. Might encourage me to clear out and clean the shed it is in.

Have a brand new notebook and will get myself back into what I was doing last year. I had a weight loss chart and was seriously tracking calorie deficit by day and over the week. That really seemed to help me.

Not really a bank holiday here for us tomorrow as DS is at school anyway so no excuses not to start tomorrow.

Peridot1 · 05/05/2019 10:39

Autumn - sorry about your loss and your period issues. Mine went haywire coming up to menopause. Would have long gaps and then one would come along on holiday or something equally inconvenient!

AutumnNymph · 05/05/2019 13:49

@Peridot1. Ouch the fall sounds nasty!! Wine and chocolate definitely recommended. DH, DD and I just went out grocery shopping and had lunch out.

I have not really felt like going to the gym but will get back on it from tomorrow.

QuimReaper · 08/05/2019 14:23

I hope how quiet it is means it's not just me plodding half-heartedly along Grin Had an awful long weekend (calories wise) and it's my birthday next week - I shudder to think what weight I'll start June at.

Still, after the long weekend off, I did two L W-R videos last night and two this morning - that's desperation talking really, as it won't be enough to counter the greed, but it feels like a positive move! I can certainly feel it in my obliques, so maybe it'll help control the spread of my waist...

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 09/05/2019 19:40

Hi quim. Yes I've plodding along for weeks although I've been back on it the past few days.

A string of weekends away meant that the scales on Tuesday morning hit the dreaded 11 2 Shock. That sounded the klaxon as it's no longer a healthy BMI. So I had two fasting / no sugar days and this morning was back at 10 13 (phew!)

I've got a quiet weekend this week before another family party next week and holiday the week after so I'm trying to have a golden 10 days. Would be nice to see 10 10 by end of next week. I did have a piece of birthday cake at work today but otherwise I'm doing well.

I've just been running tonight but tomorrow I might try that fitness video.

AutumnNymph · 10/05/2019 07:28

Happy birthday in advance @quim

Hello everyone ! I have majorly fallen off the wagon the first 10 days of May and after avoiding the scales weighed in today at 58.5 !! That’s 1.7 kgs gained in 10 ish days. That is the jolt I needed - back on it from today no excuses. Aim for May is to shed the gain and see the 56s again.

OP posts:
Peridot1 · 10/05/2019 07:34

Not a great week here but not too bad either really. Pretty good during the day but evenings are not great. Trying not to put too much pressure on myself as it usually turns out to be counterproductive. I have a tendency to be all or nothing and nothing results in falling off the wagon for months in end. I’m trying to get over that mindset and get into a mindset of making healthy choices for health sake as well as weight.

Haven’t been doing any exercise. Haven’t even had my Fitbit on all week. But my face is pretty much healed so no excuse really. Will maybe go out for a walk this morning.

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 11/05/2019 07:57

Peridot glad you are on the mend. I can relate to the peaks and troughs. I would love to get to a stable weight that I don't have to think about.

I'm doing better than I was. I used to spend 3 months losing over a stone, relax and regain it all plus a bit and then do it all again. Usually starting in January and regaining by Christmas.

These days I react quicker so have a narrower window of yoyoing (around 7lb) but I'd like to narrow it more. I've never successfully maintained. I just don't know the secret.

I was 10 12.8 this morning so I'm happy with that. I'd be happy to stay the same until Monday and then try to get to 10 10 by Friday.

I've started a new HRT this morning. It's a lower dose than my old one so I want to keep an eye on any weight changes. Also I've started with a cold yesterday so I need to resist the temptation to comfort eat.

What's everyone up to this weekend?

AutumnNymph · 11/05/2019 09:20

@KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse. I have been maintaining for the past 4 years simply by having a narrow window of yo-young and reacting quicker as you said. Thought I am trying to lose the last 5 kgs am in a healthy BMI now though on the upper side. 57s seems where my body maintains - I see 58 and I react right away.

Re the cold I had it all of last week and am just getting back on my feet. I have nothing planned this weekend except maybe some swimming and yoga at the local David Lloyd’s. Good luck with the new HRT

I had a super golden day yesterday - weighed in this morning at 57.2. As there is no way I can have lost more than a kilo in a day - yesterday’s spike must have been a blip but it was a good wake up call and am
Now back to weighing in everyday.

Beach vacation planned mid July. Would love to be around 55 kgs then with fewer wobbly bits around the middle. Considering hiring a personal trainer to whip me into shape

I’m still here and I’ve been keeping it up as best I can... I went for weigh in this morning and was delighted to find I am now half a pound under my target weight. I need to exercise now to start toning up!

AutumnNymph · 17/05/2019 17:24

well done @flobella ! I have been plodding along at 57.5s so above where I want to be but not too bad . I have started getting a bit more regular at the gym but need to do so much better

Just checking in because I fell off the thread Shock.

Plodding on here too. I had a bad week last week after changing my HRT but I seem to be settling down now. It's amazing how much my appetite changes. I'm off on holiday next week so I'll be happy to bob along at 10 13 to 11 stone this week.

I have lots of good intentions for June. Once I've lost whatever I gain on holiday.

Hope everyone is getting on ok.
