I am stuck in a rut of being overweight and I feel really miserable. Daft really as I know I can change this.

Anyone care to join me.

I have just started a week today. I’m making little changes, but not just concentrating on my weight. I’m looking at being kind to myself and my over all wellbeing as well.

Me! Off on holiday in a couple of weeks and friends wedding in the summer. Eating through boredom, and busy, stressful job which isn't helping.

I managed to get a couple of stone off a couple of years ago, but it's back :(

Elzbells · 17/03/2019 17:30

Me. I hit 12 stone today and all I've done for the past 3 years is diet and get bigger.

I spend 1 week on a diet then 1 month making up for it by eating too much and drinking too much wine.

I'm stuck in a weird rut where I wake up determined to say, start a vlcd and then by lunchtime have talked myself out of it and decided to start weightwatchers or something TOMORROW. Which then obviously gives me a good excuse to eat what I want all afternoon. Repeat infinutim every day since Xmas.

On a day where I'm eating what I want I'm eating at least 3000 calories, I'm such a pig but I can't get out of this really negative cycle and just knuckle down and get on with it.

Summers coming and I promised myself I would lose it for this Summer. I'm so angry and frustrated and disappointed with myself but seemingly not enough to actually start something/anything.

Good morning

Thank you for joining me. I bought some scales yesterday but didn't want to weigh myself in the evening, I will be getting on them in a bit, I'm a little scared! I shall report back with my starting weight and then have Mondays as my weigh day.

My plan is to eat sensibly and stop the chocolate, cakes, biscuits and Diet Coke. I really want this to work.

Snap. I said the same at New Years and yet I've only lost 6lbs and most weeks that number moves up and down a few lbs. I need to sort myself out as we've got a dream family holiday in the summer and I'll be miserable if I'm still the same size.

ForkHandlesplease · 18/03/2019 07:23

Snap again... I'm heavier than I've ever been. I have to do something now. At 5ft 2 I can't carry weight. I started yesterday. need to cut out the Vino and get off the couch.

HomeFree55 · 18/03/2019 07:29

Can I join too? I've been trying to loose weight since December and have a couple of pounds off but it's up and down. I give myself far too many treats. My exFIL is having a party at the end of April and I'd really like to be feeling a little more confident by then.

I'm 11st 7.5 this morning. I plan to cut out the chocolate and sweets, try and eat less bread and up the amount of water.

Smeller89 · 18/03/2019 07:35

I'm in! I used to be slim (ish) and quite fit but after months of medical stuff and comfort eating I now feel like crap. The batteries in my scales have run out so I'm giving myself this week to get a head start on being healthy then will buy batteries and weigh myself at the weekend.

Made a big pot of soup last night to do for lunches this week so that's step one!

ILiveInSalemsLot · 18/03/2019 07:36

Ok me too. I’m fed up of looking like a frump.
I’m tempted to do the blood sugar diet or fast 800. I want speedy weight loss!
I’ll weigh myself this morning too.

NoNoNoOohmaybe · 18/03/2019 07:39

Me too! Elzbells I literally could've written your post. It's driving me mad.

Before I had kids my weight yoyoed but I could always lose it. I think I've so wrapped up rewards and food in my head it's making it very difficult now.

Lisette1940 · 18/03/2019 07:44

Me too. Stepped on the scales last week and gasped a bit. Feeling lethargic too. Would love some company and support

FrozenMargarita17 · 18/03/2019 07:48

I'm starting today - I have two target dates to lose weight for - one in June (a week holiday hen do surrounded by beautiful glamorous skinny girls) and a wedding in August.

I have a 20 month old and am SAHM so I find it difficult to find time to exercise - dh doesn't get home til nearly her bedtime and by the time that's all done I only have a couple of hours to see him and spend time! I will try to walk more but we've recently moved rurally so everything is a car ride away.

Was thinking of finding an exercise video online or something.

Georgiemcgeorgeface · 18/03/2019 07:58

I've been using a calorie counting app and I love it. I wanted to lose slowly so it's sustainable and have been losing a pound a week for the last 8 weeks.

jimmychoux · 18/03/2019 08:04

Thank you all for joining me.

Ok I have faced the scales and I am 10st 8.5.

I guess that doesn't sound too bad but I am 5'2 so I look like a barrel.

I really can't handle another fat summer!

Oh my that’s nothing I am a whale just had my first child and must have put on 3st ... seriously vile ... so tired though keep eating to stay awake ... Makes me sad and the. I want to eat more ... making healthier dinners now but still snacking on rubbish

Jenasaurus · 18/03/2019 08:11

I’ll join you. I lost 4 stone last year but have regained 2 of them. All my own fault. It’s the maintaining I have a problem with so will need help when I get there again. What is everyone doing to lose the weight. I’m starting the day with porridge. Soup for lunch and then a light evening meal. It’s the snacks that get me gaining so no chocolate crisps or doughnuts. (Every desk in my office has goodies on them and before I know it they are in my tum )

Jenasaurus · 18/03/2019 08:12

I’m 12 stone. Need to be 10stone 4 for my height and a size 10

Steala · 18/03/2019 09:32

Please may I join? 12 stone 2 and delusional. I look in the mirror, think I look fine then gasp in horror at photos? Why?

I'd like to lose at least 2 stone and I've been trying all year but the 7lb I lost came back after emotional binge-eating. I think I'm going to start with No S: no snacks, sweets or seconds except on S days - Saturday, Sunday and special occasions. It sounds so sensible and opposed to my usual all or nothing approach.

beckslovestimmy · 18/03/2019 10:16

Hi, I've been trying to sort myself out. I started 3 weeks ago. I joined the gym and decided to overhaul my eating. I'm not dieting but eating 3 meals a day. I've cut out all junk food, so no cake, biscuits, chocolate, sweets etc. I have a major sweet tooth. Generally I cook healthy meals, so just concentrated on portion size and increasing veg intake. I've lost 7lb in 3 weeks. It's been ok going and I've only had the odd moment of cravings. Mainly when I'm at work where I often don't get time for a break/to eat so end up starving. I haven't caved though and am feeling great. I find it helps to write everything down and occasionally I run it through the MFP app to check on calories. Seems to be working and it's great to not be on a 'diet' 😊

beckslovestimmy · 18/03/2019 10:19

Frozen I downloaded the Nike app it's free with lots of different workouts on it. If I can't get to the gym I'll do one or two of the workouts on there. My 2 yr old loves to 'join' in with me.

Lisette1940 · 18/03/2019 11:06

165cm and 79.9 kg.
Or
5'6 and 12st 8lbs.

I can remember being 9st 4lbs...

jimmychoux · 18/03/2019 12:59

I haven't eaten any chocolate yet today. That's a first. 😂

@beckslovestimmy thank you! That's why I thought a video would be good because dd loves music and dancing and would do it with me

FrozenMargarita17 · 18/03/2019 13:35

I've got my Fitbit on too. Going to attempt exercise this pm
