I am stuck in a rut of being overweight and I feel really miserable. Daft really as I know I can change this.

Anyone care to join me.

This No S is haasaard. I've eaten lunch. I had what I want so I'm not deprived. I had as much as I wanted so I'm not hungry but still I'm having to sit on my hands to stop myself ferreting around for something sweet or snacks. Im not upset. I'm not particularly stressed. I'm mildly bored and that appears to be enough to make me overeat. That's why I'm 12 stone 2.

beckslovestimmy · 18/03/2019 14:13

Steala, I find I have to get up and do something after a meal or I really crave something sweet. After 3 weeks the cravings are let frequent and not as bad. Just keep persevering. You can do it! If I do have a snack (usually when I'm working as I do 13hr shifts) I now have an apple and a portion of cheese (20g). I don't want to give in to a 'treat' because I know once I start I can stop!! 😫😂

Babyg1995 · 18/03/2019 15:40

I'm in totally disgusted with my self I'm the heaviest I've ever been apart from pregnancy in fact I'm heavier I'm 11stone 11 lb I'm 5,7 so carry it not to badly but nothing fits I'm horrified ive done this to myself 🙁🙁🙁🙁

Smeller89 · 18/03/2019 19:26

Well I've been quite healthy today, didn't eat too much (only one chocolate treat at work as it was someone's birthday) and went for a jog after work. First day without wine for a while too - think wine is key to my weight gain, it makes me eat more rubbish in the evenings.

Lots of posters beating themselves up here - I think we should all feel proud for joining the thread!!

MuddledUpAgain · 18/03/2019 19:33

I need to weigh myself. Batteries in Fitbit scales have died. Should also get my Fitbit back out and charged.

Restarted Herbalife today. Has worked for me before but I stopped when I went on holiday-all inclusive was never going to end well. Was going to run after work but head felt fuzzy so didn't. Haven't snacked today though so that's a positive!

Kungfupanda67 · 18/03/2019 19:46

I’ve just weighed myself to find that I haven’t lost anything this week. Promptly cried and terrified my husband by being such an emotional wreck!
Had my 3rd baby in December and have only lost a stone, now plodding along at 13st 1lb. Feel miserable and unattractive, feel like I always look like a tramp because none of my nicer clothes fit me anymore. I’ve never been this down about the way I look.
Joined the gym 2 weeks ago and have had a personal program done for me so I’ve been trying to do that 3 times a week, as well as eating healthily and nothing seems to be shifting. Also breastfeeding, which they claim burns 500 calories a day Hmm. Genuinely don’t understand how, at the size I am, I’m not losing any weight Sad

winc · 18/03/2019 20:23

Hi all, can I join too? My Ds is just a year and I am the heaviest I have ever been- stepped on scales tonight and am 13st- when did that happen Sad. Plan is, no breakfast ( I get hungrier if I have breakfast!!) salad and gluten free crackers for lunch, Greek yogurt and blueberries for snack, oat crackers with a smear of peanut butter too and then soup for dinner. Lots of water and at least 2 apples a day. Need to cut out the wine and snacks at night so need to think of things to do to keep me busy- should be loads as I work full time too! Just need to get off my big ass and do stuff!

beckslovestimmy · 18/03/2019 22:00

Well I'm just back from the gym. I really didn't want to go but made myself and I'm glad I did. I've been building up my running and did 20minutes today at just over 10mins a mile. Felt comfortable so will aim for 3 miles/5k next time. I've got a meal out for my dads birthday tomorrow and a night out on Saturday so really being strict this week.

MercuryRising · 18/03/2019 22:08

I need to join you. I had my 4th baby in November and I'm still in the cycle of binging on biscuits and sweets to stop myself feeling tired. I am promising myself that tomorrow I will buy some scales and start following weight watchers properly. The house and family are largely under control now so it is time for me to begin focussing on myself a bit.

FrozenMargarita17 · 18/03/2019 22:46

I managed a broken 30 min exercise today. Found a cheesy one on amazon prime. Proper cringe but I did it. Dd was telling me to sit down and trying to push me down! Haha.

I also stuck to calorie goal.

Does anyone have any good ideas for breakfasts etc that aren't too high calorie? I had poached egg with dry toast today and that was fine - if I only get 1200 calories a day I want to make the most of them

Steala · 19/03/2019 10:42

I'm sticking to three single-plate meals a day - no sweets, no snacks, no seconds and, less than 1.5 days in, I feel like I'm missing a limb. It is no wonder that I am overweight: I eat ALL the time!

AmIWelcome · 19/03/2019 14:23

Join our thread over on "Half a stone in march", there have been some great idea sharing and its really supportive most if not all are posting results of losses each week :)

beckslovestimmy · 19/03/2019 15:52

Steala stick with it it does get easier i promise. I now feel I don't think about food anywhere near as much as I was. Make sure your drinking plenty too. I think I ate when often I was actually thirsty. You can do it!

FrozenMargarita17 · 19/03/2019 19:59

Struggling this evening! Desperately wanted to eat dd's leftover food because was very hungry and I hate waste. It's so hard to break out of it

ILiveInSalemsLot · 20/03/2019 07:57

I found some nhs weight loss information which I found helpful.
They’ve got sheets that you can fill in every day to record your calories, tick off your five a day and record your exercise.
I’m going to print one off and see how I go for the week.
If anyone is interested -

muddledmidget · 20/03/2019 09:22

Can I join you? I started on Sunday as it really was time to draw a line and start doing this seriously. Weighed in at 11st10.75 on Sunday and have given myself 4 weeks to make an impact. Normally my diets are aiming to get to 9st7 and I do well for the first week and then it all goes wrong. So I thought I'd try something new by focussing on healthy eating and getting 10K steps per day and seeing how that went instead! So far, I'm hungry and down 2lbs so not bad!!

jimmychoux · 20/03/2019 11:03

Morning, how is everyone doing.

I had a crazy busy day yesterday and didn't eat until the evening.

My food choices were terrible. A bacon and egg sandwich and a piece of lemon meringue pie.

Going to try harder today to make better choices.

Let's all be good today 😁

I started last Monday - have been doing HIIT workouts and hill walking but not losing that much weight recently cause I eat so much...

So, as of last Monday am doing calorie counting (1,400/day). Can't do oats and dairy due to intolerance, chose to give up sugar 18 months ago and doing no red meat for lent - so feeling slightly bamboozled some days as to what to eat Wine

Only lost 1.1kg when I weighed on Monday but my period started day before so fingers crossed I might lose a bit more this week. Am slightly obsessed with food at the moment - hoping that I can settle down to the new normal soon...

Elzbells · 20/03/2019 12:40

I started a very low calorie milkshake diet on Monday and have managed to stick to it. I know they are not ideal but for me they break the negative food/reward/binge cycle.

I'll try and stick to it for a few weeks and once I've got utterly sick of them and feel a bit more in control I'll move onto weightwatchers/mfp.

I've realised that wine is my trigger for bingeing so I'm aiming not to have any for 12 weeks and try to break the habit.

4lbs down so far and feeling positive.

Good luck to everyone else

Steala · 21/03/2019 12:42

How is everyone doing? I'm on day 4, and feeling more in control. I'm doing the No S diet (no snacks, sweets or seconds apart from Saturdays and Sundays) and I'm beginning to feel more in control. I'm not expecting dramatic weight loss, or even necessarily any at all but, feeling confident around food and finding other means to fill the void that food fills for me, is an achievement in itself. Even if I go totally overboard at the weekend, it's better than going totally overboard every day. I suspect it is the permission to indulge at weekends that makes it sustainable.

Sturmundcalm · 21/03/2019 13:08

day 11 and i'm hungry... was hungry all day yesterday as well!

bit gutted as i coped better last week and i'm eating v similar meals. going to go make a batch of soup i think so that i can try and fill myself up with that rather than crisps!

Elzbells · 21/03/2019 13:16

My problem is always when I hit the second week. Once I get myself started I'm fine for 7/10 days and then I get bored and that's where I need to try and stay motivated to continue this time.

beckslovestimmy · 21/03/2019 13:38

I'm still going guys. 7lb down in 3 weeks. I've resisted all junk so far, nearly 4 weeks and counting! I was out for dinner for my dads birthday and I chose to have something I fancied rather than a salad. I had a chicken wrap, fries and coleslaw. I ate the wrap, and left at least 1/2 the fries and coleslaw. Everyone had dessert but I didn't. I left having enjoyed my food and feeling good that I'd had the will power to resist. I did a 12 hour shift yesterday and ate well. I'm doing a legs, bums and tums class this evening then back to the gym tomorrow/sat. I'm out sat night. I haven been out since before Christmas so will have a wine or 2 but will stay focussed. Nothing is going to stop me!!

beckslovestimmy · 23/03/2019 07:29

How's everyone doing?? What's the plans for the weekend?

Margot33 · 23/03/2019 07:33

Get your trainers on and go for a run! I'm in the same boat and now exerise 5 times a week. I've lost a stone since January but have another stone to go. It's hard work but think how good you'll feel in the summer.
