Whether your goal is to lose 7lbs or 1 or even just maintain, come join us and march away those extra pounds

I also might try and not drink tmo or Sat as much prosecco will be consumed on Sunday Grin

lastqueenofscotland · 15/03/2019 07:40

Scales couldn’t decide between 10:8 and 10:7 and finally settled on 10:8 so hoping I see 7 tomorrow

AutumnNymph · 15/03/2019 16:09

Weirdly i saw a minor drop today and clocked n 57.1 kgs. Still heavier than when I started the month but its the first time i have seen it go in the right direction this month so I will take that.

GP said water retention is common with perimenopause so I have been chugging down water since yesterday - not sure if that helped.

Have gotten the blood tests done with today so now its waiting ot the results.

Not expecting a good weigh in tomorrow - DH has had a long awaited promotion confirmed today and with the storm and me feeling very low on energy we are going to order in the rare takeaway from our local Indian and celebrate with that and wine.

Morning all. No weigh in for me today. I'm away for the weekend and I'm not planning to diet! There will be tapas and bread and possibly sangria!

I was 10 12 exactly yesterday morning. I wonder how much it is possible to gain in 48 hrs Grin.

Back on the wagon on Monday morning. See you on the other side Halo.

Dashel · 16/03/2019 08:47

I weighed in this morning at 11st 1.6 pounds so lost a pound since my midweek weigh in 😄 so pleased, still the target is sub 11 st by 28th of March and I’m away this weekend so being good will be hard but we got this so keep going x

goingonabearhunt1 · 17/03/2019 22:32

9st10 this morning but that was before afternoon tea with prosecco plus cocktails after! Was fun though. Back on it tmo.

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 18/03/2019 09:35

Back to reality this morning after a lovely weekend away in the sun.

We had lovely food and a few drinks but I didn't feel like I massively over-ate apart from one big meal. It was all quite unhealthy though. Bread, pastries and churros. On the plus side we walked everywhere and my fitbit thought it was Christmas Grin

The scales this morning are showing 11 1.2. That's 3lb up from Friday morning Sad.

Hoping I'll shed a couple of those quickly enough once I get back into my usual routine.

Next target is 10 10 and a serious fitness push for my next weekend away at the end of April. That one is with a group of superfit runners so I need to up my game. Blush

Dashel · 18/03/2019 10:09

Wow kick a weekend away with super fit friends is always a challenge! Are you running with them?

I have friends who are super fit, she did a 20 mile race yesterday and he is into weights and spinning both look like they should be on magazine covers, but are super lovely people.

They do motivate me to try harder as I hate feeling like their fat and lazy friend.

I was fairly good on our weekend away but shall weigh in on Wednesday to see exactly how good I was 😳 I did do a hotel room workout as the weather was not good enough to run in

I am back to eating within a timed window and hopefully that will help

lastqueenofscotland · 18/03/2019 13:19

Fell off the wagon big time this weekend but only up a pound so 10.9. Back on it today so fingers crossed it comes off quick

AutumnNymph · 18/03/2019 14:46

Morning everyone ! I am still here chugging away but gaining weight for no reason after that hope giving whoosh. Weighed in at 57,7 kgs this morning after an extremely golden 10 days !!!

My blood results are in but obviously I can’t make head or tail of them - have an appointment with the GP next Friday.

I will strive to remain motivated and make good food choices!

lastqueenofscotland · 19/03/2019 08:42

Back down to my Friday low Grin thankfully the weekend of takeaway and beer wasn’t too disasterous

Dashel · 19/03/2019 09:27

Autumn I hope that the GP has some answers and good news for you next week.

I managed my first 10km run yesterday 😳 I’m feeling quite rough today but it will pass and the DOMS in my legs will only make them stronger. I couldn’t resist getting on the scales this morning and I’m now 11st 1lb rather than 11st 1.6lb on Saturday morning so getting so close to under 11 stone I can feel it

QuimReaper · 19/03/2019 11:28

Dashel you're doing amazingly! I have never ever run 10K, I think you're incredible! How long has it taken you to get there? Also when you say stand straight, do you mean don't put more weight on one foot?

Autumn that sounds horrible, you poor poor thing. Hopefully the doctor has a quick turnaround on your tests so you can sort it out.

Kick your weekend away sounds amazing! Three Lindas is nothing, most of that will be bloat and water, just go mental on the fluids and it'll dissipate in no time.

queenie I'm really impressed that you only gained 1 pound on an off-wagon weekend, and banishing it in one day is magnificent.

I was Golden as Golden can Be yesterday and planning to keep it up for the week! Today I'm going to make an extra effort with steps and then we'll have chicken chilli for dinner, then frittata for dinner tomorrow, Golden on Thurs and hopefully, FINALLY a good weigh-in on Fri.

Dashel · 19/03/2019 11:54

Quim stand straight and don’t look down at the scales until it’s had chance to settle down and calculated the weight.

Thank you, I started my journey into running about three years ago, I have stopped and started a lot but never run more than 5km before this year.

What stops you running is your head, it tells you that you can’t and that you need to give up. Ok I am sore and tired but now I have done it once I will do it again.

There are so many free couch to five programs out there that are achievable and you can repeat as needed. I go to my run club twice a week and that helps and I do core and weights at home and I have a lot of fitspiration on Facebook and lots of sources for motivation for my diet.

I am really boring at the moment

lastqueenofscotland · 20/03/2019 07:37

10.7 this morning!
Chuffed after a crap weekend.

goingonabearhunt1 · 20/03/2019 13:07

Been within calories on MFP for over a week now so very pleased. Feeling quite bored/hungry today though. I think what I really need is a good sleep so just having some tea to distract myself from eating. Will weigh again at wknd and see if there's any movement.

AutumnNymph · 20/03/2019 14:15

hey all ! Well done to everyone with loses and well done to those who keep plodding on. We will get there!

My blood tests are back and the GP had asked me to come in tomorrow rather than next week so thats good - based on what I can see from my notes on Patient Access and blood results - its does include menopause/perimenopause.

I am hoping to get some answers/some help tomorrow. ON the positive side I haven't gained any weight since the whoosh and am holding on at 57.1.

QuimReaper · 20/03/2019 16:44

queenie that's incredible, well done! You're dropping Lindas at a rate of knots, well on track for your holiday!

Dashel Shock I never knew that. I always stare gimlet-like down at them while they flicker and make up their mind. I don't know why I didn't think of that, as I know to stand up and not wriggle on the BMI machines in Boots, to which I used to be very devoted. I'll try it on Friday and hope to come in a kilo lighter Grin

I've started C25K so many times. I've just never, ever managed to enjoy running. I hate it every time I try it. I only once managed to make any headway, and that was when I belonged to a gym; I quite accidentally built up my stamina on the cross trainer and exercise bike, and then had a bit of a go on the treadmill, and to my amazement, found I bashed out a 5K (not on the first attempt I think, but the second). I got really carried away, shot up to 7.5K... and then got completely crippled with shin splints Sad Angry They were agony for weeks, and my enthusiasm was completely sapped. I'm no longer a gym member and I've never got along with running outdoors, I always hate every minute of it. I'm so annoyed with myself though, if I'd taken it more slowly and not had shitty trainers I could be running marathons by now!

In other news though, I'm thinking of taking up yoga. There's a studio right by my house and they have a very attractive introductory package which I'm thinking of trying out. I know there are a few yogis out there, can any of you show yourselves and tell me about the amazing results I'll see...?

lastqueenofscotland · 21/03/2019 07:33

In calories but had a huge dinner yesterday and bounced up to 10.8 only a pound, and sure a lot of it is water retention. Won’t panic and sure it will be back in a day or two

lastqueenofscotland · 21/03/2019 07:49

Quim as an obsessive runner I would never force anyone who hates it to carry on. I think if you don’t “get it” you shouldn’t feel obliged to be hammering yourself into the ground for it

AutumnNymph · 21/03/2019 20:01

Saw the GP this morning - she was lovely and said she was almost sure it was menopausal but needed to run more
Tests in a months time and if the tests still showed menopause which she seemed pretty sure they would she has to refer me to a specialist clinic.

I however am feeling slightly better today so am going to try and sleep off. I am working from home tomorrow and DH is doing the school run so I can have a lie in.

The GP has warned me weight gain is normal and it will be even tougher to lose now ! Oh joy !

So I have tweaked my March and April goals and going to focus on maintaining at current levels and not gaining more.
Once menopause is sorted and I have the medicines and help I need
I will focus on weight loss.

Everyone at work got a chippy dinner and I had my bloody tofu and veg stir fry
If I don’t lose 10lbs overnight I’ll be so angry

AutumnNymph · 22/03/2019 17:55

@lastqueenofscotland that is a major sacrifice. I will be mad on your behalf if you don’t see a big whoosh.

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 22/03/2019 21:39

Autumn try not to panic Flowers. I remember when I got confirmation I was in menopause. It was a real blow and I was devastated. I think it's so tied in with our view of ourselves and our age, role in society etc so when it comes early it feels like a real loss.

It's easy to focus on all the negatives but now I've adjusted to it there are loads of positives too. No more periods or hormonal ups and downs. I am more self confident and less of a people pleaser, and I'm sure that's connected.

I did gain weight when I was first in menopause but it stopped when I got on HRT. I've managed to lose weight successfully while on HRT. I don't think it's that much harder than pre menopause. Mind you I never found it that easy Blush.

It's great they are referring you. Did they say how long it would take? Have they prescribed anything in the meantime?

lastqueenofscotland · 23/03/2019 09:42

I am half a point heavier despite being mega golden. Fucked off.comAngry
