Autumn plateauing is SO frustrating but as you say, the whoosh will come eventually, and at least you're staying comfortably in a good kg bracket. I believe a "refeed" can be the thing to bring one on, as can chugging loads of water, so maybe grab yourself a big 2L bottle (and stay close to the loo) and maybe that + cake will do the trick!

lastqueenofscotland · 08/03/2019 07:36

Pound down after two absolutely golden days.
Weekend could
Be a bit of a challenge drinking wise (why do I have to like guiness the best?)

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 08/03/2019 09:08

Last congrats on the pound loss. Enjoy your weekend (but not too much Smile)

And good luck autumn. Hope you get your whoosh!

Well I'm feeling smug this morning Grin. No change on my bathroom scales today. Still 10 12.2.

I had to pop to the nurse first thing this morning and I got collared by the receptionist and she got me to stand on their height/ weight / blood pressure machine.

I was worried that I was kidding myself about bmi because I'd been rounding up my height. Also worried my scales were underweighing. Plus I was wearing jeans and a jumper so not my lightest clothes.

It said my bmi was 24.6, my height is 5' 6 still and my bp is in the normal range Grin

For comparison I came back and weighed myself at home wearing the same clothes and I got 11 0.2 so maybe a few oz lighter but nothing significant.

Phew! Means I can stay on hrt and won't get nagged by the doctor!

lastqueenofscotland · 08/03/2019 09:54

Great stuff kick Grin

AutumnNymph · 08/03/2019 21:40

well done on the loss @Lastqueenofscotland and yaay @kick.

Well i have jumped off the wagon today as planned and have had a fabulously calorific day. Too much lovely pasta, amazing cake (even if i do say so myself ) and to top it off the founder of my company took the women in the leadership team (its just 3 of us including the other founder) out for lunch to celebrate womens day to a nice fancy place.

I am stuffed and cant remember the last time I ate so much. I did walk around 20,000 steps today and while I have always guzzled water everyday (growing up in a hot tropical country, am just used to drinking a lot of water) I have drunk even more than normal today.

I won't be weighing in until Monday and plan to be mostly golden over the weekend and hope it all evens out.

Have a fabulous weekend everyone!

I am 10 9 this morning. Probably thanks to some dehydration from the alcohol Blush
Didn’t overeat yesterday and cut back a bit to allow myself some booze so hopefully that pays off for my food all planned out for today and lots of exercise and no beers today so fingers crossed I can have my first golden weekend in eleventy billion years

QuimReaper · 09/03/2019 13:51

Oooh well done queenie, and Kick that's amazing, what a boost!

I weighed in 400g heavier on Friday Angry I really think these wanky new scales MrQ bought are a bit wonky, I can't understand how I could have gained a pound after the week I had! It may have been food weight, it's annoying though!

AutumnNymph · 09/03/2019 19:57

Ohh and forgot to say 9 Red bull free days - it’s been bloody difficult but am chugging on a day at a time. I don’t drink coffee and Red bull was my source or caffeine.

Huggybear16 · 11/03/2019 06:41

Morning everyone.

So I had the Really Bad Week (too scared to get on the scales after), followed by the Mostly Good Week. I'm 54.9kg this morning, so 0.2kg less than last time I weighed. Roughly the same, which makes sense.

Well done on your loss queen, your 10st something AGAIN kick and your Red Bull victory Autumn

What wanky scales do you have now Quim? I need new scales, but worried that new scales will show me to be a few kg more than my old ones! 400g can absolutely be food weight. You've also had a good week, so I'm even more convinced it's food weight.

In other news, I'm 3 weeks 2 days smoke free. Really starting to notice a difference now!

I bought the Fast 800 book (Tesco have it for £4 just now). It's an interesting read, but a lot of the meals have egg as the main part of the meal. Has anyone read this?

lastqueenofscotland · 11/03/2019 09:17

Haven’t weighed myself yesterday or today so will have to see tomorrow. Not been terrible food wise but maybe a bit too much alcohol Blush

Dashel · 11/03/2019 11:46

Well done on everyone who had a loss no matter how small and keep positive for everyone who didn’t.

I lost less than half a pound, but it’s a loss and not a gain. I was also infected with a heavy cold and did half my steps missed my long weekend run and one exercise class. If I’m home with some light tonight then I will try and go for a run.

I have been working a lot with my weights. But I need to be really good for March as I would love to loose 4 pounds by 30th of March and my fantastic progress has really slowed down for the last few weeks

Dashel · 11/03/2019 11:57

I have the Fitbit scales and although they are expensive the automatic logging into the app and the calculations and logging of your BMI and body fat percentage are really handy

lastqueenofscotland · 12/03/2019 08:21

Scales couldn’t decide between 10 9 and 10 8 for ages, settled on 10 9 but hopefully I’ll see that 8 very soon

Huggybear16 · 12/03/2019 10:24

Here we are @thetwinkletoescollective

AutumnNymph · 12/03/2019 20:11

Hi all - am still here - still staying golden and still slowly gaining weight ! My periods are massively delayed (not pregnant ) and I think my hormones are out of whack.

I am going to keep staying golden and hope it all whooshes off at some point. The bloat is awful so am not surprised at what the scales show.

Early menopause runs in my family so I wonder if it’s the start of it all!

OP posts:
KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 12/03/2019 22:46

Sad autumn that's so frustrating. I had an early menopause at 36 but the first sign of peri menopause was when I was 29. Hope it's just a temporary blip.

I was 10 12.0 this morning but I don't expect I will be tomorrow. I had a really early meal last night (5.00 pm) and then went out for a long run. I was so hungry this morning I felt a bit light headed so I decided 16:8 wasn't happening and had my breakfast early. I then went on a biscuit binge this afternoon at work.

I always get a huge appetite when I run but hopefully I can get back on it tomorrow. Only 2lb to go until goal no. 1. I had hoped to get there by this weekend but probably won't now. I'm away this weekend and I won't be fasting Blush. Keep going everyone Flowers

AutumnNymph · 12/03/2019 23:16

@KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse I am 39 so not as early as yours but looking at the NHS website a lot of weird things I have had like forgetfulness , inability to sleep at night , mood swings all make sense.

Wondering if I should see the GP now or wait for a bit .

lastqueenofscotland · 13/03/2019 07:42

10 8 this morning Grin so 3lbs since Wednesday last week Shock

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 13/03/2019 08:16

Star well done lasty Grin

Autumn I would definitely get to a gp. Mainly to rule out anything else that could be causing the symptoms. It might be an easy fix. If it is menopause it's still worth going to get it confirmed. They usually recommend hrt if you are under 45 because the benefits outweigh the risks e.g. bone density. Unless there are medical reasons not to.

goingonabearhunt1 · 13/03/2019 23:40

Wknd was bad here; far too much booze and crap but was back on it from Tuesday. Been doing my steps and been to yoga today. Too scared to weigh yet.

goingonabearhunt1 · 13/03/2019 23:41

Sunday's gonna be bad this wk as well cos I'm going for a boozy lunch with some friends from uni.

QuimReaper · 14/03/2019 11:10

Hi all!

Sorry I dropped off the thread a bit there, there was very little to report! Huggy the wanky / wonky scales are some kind of "smart" contraption he bought for Christmas which supposedly tell you your fat % and all that jazz, although I've only ever used them for weight. They just seem a bit unpredictable, but then, I used to say the same thing about my old ones Hmm I guess my latte guzzling last week took its toll! I need to stick to tea I think; what started as a once-weekly thing has turned into an almost daily one.

This week is a write-off to be honest. Monday I had evening plans, so in my infinite wisdom I followed the usual Monday pattern (Fast Day) and then hit the Prosecco on a virtually empty stomach. Not wise, as I was mega hungover on Tuesday... I'd intended to get lots of steps in on the Tues, but I got caught in the most incredible weather (having tried to soldier through the rain) and ended up having to give up and get the bus home to wring myself out. Then the combination of having got so drenched and the after effects of the booze meant I was all floppy and lethargic and starving, so although I managed to dodge dinner and booze (I want a bloody medal for that, everyone else was having pasta and wine) it was a really sedentary snacky day. Then yesterday I was OKish food wise succumbed to a giant latte and again, I nibbled a bit and ate a dinner I didn't really need. I am going to be Golden as Golden can Be today to try and finally go to bed feeling like I've had one really good day! My belly looked colossal yesterday. Humph.

Autumn that is so frustrating! Bloat and unearned gain definitely signals water retention so hang in there for that whoosh, but you must be feeling very pissed off! I agree with the others that a bunch of symptoms + a family history warrants a GP trip.

Dashel · 14/03/2019 14:21

Autumn that sounds horrible and bloating sucks anyway. Keep it up as you will feel better soon and in the long term loosing weight and eating well can only help.

For anyone having issues with your scales try putting them on a board, they need to be flat and your floor might be wonkier than you think. Also remember to stand straight if that’s not too obvious 🤓

I weighed myself today and have lost half a pound since Saturday 😄 meaning a total loss since Jan 5 of nearly 8 pounds. I’m the lightest I have been in 18 months and if I can loose 3 pounds more it will be the lightest in 4 years - that would put me at 10st 13.5

It’s so frustrating to be gaining and loosing the same 11 pounds but this time it will stay off! I have 18 months before I hit 40 and I want to be fitter and lighter than at any point since I left uni. I think due to having a very unfit childhood I am already fitter but just need to loose 1.5 stone 😭

AutumnNymph · 14/03/2019 20:03

Hi all - sorry for being silent this month ! Am chugging along eating healthy but have been battling insomnia, headaches , hot flushes , cold sweats -the
Whole shabang !
Finally managed to see a GP today and after ruling out pregnancy (which combined with the work, travel, illnesses would have been close to an Immaculate conception anyway 😂) she has ordered blood tests - will get that done tomorrow.

It’s now been 7 days since I have managed to sleep more than couple of hours so am
Exhausted ! Hoping they figure out what we this is and get me the meds
I need.

The GP is almost sure it’s
Perimenopause as Symptoms all add up especially the bloody awful forgetfullness!

I shall chug along and see where this takes me - my Mum gained sooo much weight when she went through menopause part of me is terrified. I weighed in at 57.4 kg this morning which is a gain of 1.4 kgs in Narch though bar a dinner out I have been very golden!!

I am going to chalk it down to body’s weirdnesses and just keep at it.

On the good side I am working from home this week for the most part so have used what would my commute time for long walks and yoga classes instead.

Good job everyone who has lost and everyone who is just hanging on!

Really stressful day here but managed not to hit the food/wine; just had my planned good. Gonna try and be golden till Sunday as I want a loss next week! Glad you're getting some answers nymph
