Ive lost 8lb and don't feel any difference in my clothes. Was hoping that they would start to feel a little loose now im half a stone lighter Sad how much have people had to lose before it reflects in dress size?

It depends on how big you are at the start.

saskia76 · 01/03/2019 17:22

Size 14 currently. Started at 11st 12lb currently 11 stone 4lb.

I've lost 19lbs and I'm still a size 18. I suspect vanity sizing has something to do with it. Have you tried taking your measurements as you lose weight?

saskia76 · 01/03/2019 17:29

Wow well done you! @Aph413 would of definitely thought you'd drop a dress size losing that much though! No, didn't even think to take my measurements. Going to start from today though. Really good idea! Thank you 😊

These things can vary so much. It depends how tall you are. Where you carry your weight. If you were a big 14 you will have further to go to get to a 12 than someone who is a small 14 iyswim. It takes me a out a stone to feel a major difference in my clothes. You are the same weight and size as me (your starting weight). How tall are you? I am a comfortable 12 at 11st

saskia76 · 01/03/2019 17:42

@MrsL2016 im 5 ft 4. Im really top heavy and carry a lot around my stomach. Im trying on my size 12 clothes daily in hope they'll fit me Sad

It depends how tall you are. I'm 5'2" and recently put on about 7lb (losing it again now) and that really was enough to put on a dress size but I just wore clothes where it mattered less (loose dresses, stretchy jeans and a jumper). But I'm a healthy weight and wear more fitted clothes than I would if I was overweight.

But if you are a more average height then generally it's suppose to be a stone a size.

SurgeHopper · 01/03/2019 17:47

They usually say a stone = a dress size. I'm sure some part of you feels a bit less?

Well done on the 8lbs BTW GrinWine

SurgeHopper · 01/03/2019 17:48

By top heavy do you mean boobs too? If so it might take a while, it'll come off your legs, arms, bum whatever first.

Tennesseewhiskey · 01/03/2019 17:48

Around a stone for me.

Stinkytoe · 01/03/2019 17:48

I think the first dress sizes is the hardest to drop, at least in my case I’m somewhat squashed into my current dress size, ie I should probably be in the one above so it’s going to take an age to drop into the one below.

saskia76 · 01/03/2019 17:54

@SurgeHopper yh. My boobs are massive at the minute. Its my boobs and belly i want to lose the most.

OP posts:
SurgeHopper · 01/03/2019 18:10

Well, that's what happened to me, I lost it on the boobs last. I'm 5'4 and only started to fit into 12s (bottom half) at around 11 stone, only fitted 12s on top at a bit less.

How much are you trying to lose?

EntirelyAnonymised · 01/03/2019 18:13

About half a stone for me.

EntirelyAnonymised · 01/03/2019 18:15

I’m tall but an apple shape and so I have a tendency to go barrel shaped if i’m not careful.

icannotremember · 01/03/2019 18:19

For me a dress size is roughly a stone.

saskia76 · 01/03/2019 18:56

@SurgeHopper Id like to be a comfortable size 12. So 10half/11 stone would hopefully help me become that size. I was a 12 before having my ds and felt and looked fine. Not sure what my weight was when i was a size 12 though Confused it's crazy because even though im only a dress size up from what i used to be, i feel so much bigger for it. I feel heavy as well.

2inches is a dress size I think.

ShakeYourTailFeathers · 01/03/2019 19:05

20lb for me

MamaFlintstone · 01/03/2019 19:07

About 2 stone for me but I’m 5’10” and fat.

Yeah that's not good when you actually feel heavy. Like you're carrying something extra... Which of course you are!

How long has it taken you to lose 8lbs? You'd only need to lose another 8 ish to be at goal weight

Flowerplower · 01/03/2019 21:12

I've done your survey and am on 5:2, padegoke.

CountFosco · 01/03/2019 21:46

If so it might take a while, it'll come off your legs, arms, bum whatever first.

I find it comes off my waist at a faster rate than my boobs and bum (I lose 2" on my waist for every inch elsewhere). I'm an hourglass though.

saskia76 · 01/03/2019 21:59

It's taken me just over 3 weeks to lose it. Im hoping the other 8 lbs are the ones that make a difference for the results I want🤞🏼
