I have just polished off a galaxy bar and a Lindt chocolate teddy bear in preparation for the new me tomorrow 😂😂. Plan is to eat healthily and exercise for the next 7 weeks. Anyone fancy joining me and helping motivate each other?

Please can I join you too.

I had a couple of TIAs (mini strokes) in 2018 and was told to lose 4 stone.

I followed the blood sugar diet and lost 3 stone and felt so much better slept well etc.

Now I’ve put back on 7lb have my sugar addiction back and am eating crisps like they are going out of fashion!

I need to get back on the wagon. Apart from anything else the headaches and poor sleep need to go just as much as the weight.

I fell asleep with the children last night before dinner so that’s kick started me to weigh in today. I’m still 12st9lb but am 5”11.

I need to be 11.7lbs according to doctors.

I even started cornflakes with loads of sugar after evening meals the last week. That was a pre diet bad habit of mine.

@brokenwing that doesn't sound too awful... and the chinese meal sounds lovely ;) no snacks or anything is a good effort, it will pay off and cancel the Chinese out.
Tuesday weigh-in sounds good, Wednesday was my doctors weight check that kick started this, so that will be a week for me.

@somersetlady crisps 🤩🤩 I think, left to my own devices I could probably live on them. Hope you've recovered after your TIAs. Scary stuff, but well done on your weight loss. That's fab.

Sunday: 2 slices of toast for brekkie because I was starving!! Rode horse, went for very long walk with kids and dogs and did ripped in 30 with heavy weights. No snacks but we did have fish and chips for lunch but I only had a child’s portion. Making a veg stew thing for tea and I won’t have any rice with it so will keep me within calories. How is everyone else doing?

Well done cheeseandpickles- you’re flying it!!! Last night was a complete write off - had visitors over and I was a disaster. So I went for a 6k run today but had Pringles after that were left over from the party. My willpower is brutal. Tomorrow is another day. Good luck everyone

Genuine question
Why only 7 weeks?

Well done Cheeseandpickle!!! All your hard work paid off this week, with only a few pounds to lose 1lb is a brilliant start.

I resisted temptation this morning, I was standing by the scales, tapped them to switch on, then told myself NO and walked away. I wont do it tonight as always heavier and every oz counts! Equally excited and nervous about tomorrow morning!

You’re right Kikipost - hopefully if I can get into good habits over the next seven weeks it will carry on after that - just need to give myself a goal to work towards 😀

Thanks @brokenwing ! Really pleased and it’s spurred me on.
Today: 1 piece of toast and several cups of tea. Did ripped in 30 and mucked out. Played outside with kids running around. Lunch: 2 poached eggs and 1 slice toast. Couple of crackers snack. Planning a high veg tea plenty of cals to go at still so quite pleased and not feeling particularly hungry either!

Calling all the Big Losers, Fine Tuners and the Inbetweeners that are weighing in at the end of week 1 tomorrow!!!!!

Hope the scales ⚖️ work in our favour and we all get the result we want or deserve!!

First week of the new year has felt like a tough one, if the scales are not kind it's only one week, tomorrow is a new start!!! This isn't a sprint, just the beginning of a marathon. 💪🏻

(if you are out of the thread let us know so we don't @ you again)

Eek! Can't believe it will have been a whole week already.
I'm not doing too well on the diet. I think my
problem is that I need set rules to follow and so far I've been following my own vague 'eat better/less' (and failing Blush) I think I actually need to do mfp / 5.2, something a bit more structured. What is everyone else doing?

On a more positive note I have kept up with my resolution of at least 10,000 steps every day and I went for a run on Sunday (first one in ages!) I'm also looking into joining the gym.

I know I won't have lost anything tomorrow, but I'll use everyone else's losses to spur me on!

Let's see. Quite excited, I think that's a tad sad, but it's been a lot of effort. Tomorrow morning it is!

Weigh in! So I know I had a sneaky early weigh in yesterday and was down 1lb. Well today I weighed in at 10.1!! So that makes a 2lb loss this week! Wahooo!
How has everyone else got on? Good luck ladies xxx

domton · 08/01/2019 10:01

Well done. A whole pound up on your sneaky early weigh in. You've worked hard for it fair play :)

I'll join you in the 2lb club :) it's officially a start. I'm so pleased. I take steroids about 50% of the time and and I can't always exercise, so getting weight off isn't always easy, but always extremely beneficial, and 2lb is a damn good start :)

Well done ladies!!! Little by little we will manage to make big changes in our lives. Both my scales at home are broken at the moment - great excuse to avoid the inevitable!! Diet went out the window - my mum ended up in hospital and ds difficulties at school - so did lots of emotional eating!!! But hopping back up on the wagon now to join ye. Best of luck with the weigh in everyone

Work has been mad this morning and I've been desperate to come on and see how everyone has done!!

I've lost 5lb, yep 5lbs (sorry had to say it twice) - eek!!!! Grin (Big Loser so would expect it to be a bit higher than the Fine Tuners in the first few weeks).

But very pleased after having two (albeit smaller portion) Chinese takeaways last week! Had 1/2 tin of beans on 2 x toast for dinner last night without spread to make up for it and in anticipation of this morning!!!

Really pleased we are all going in the right direction!!! Let's kill week 2 too!! Grin

7llb off - I am chuffed but know from now in it will be very small losses so I need to dig in.
I'm logging on mfp
I am using a smaller plate and have cut down on processed food
I've had homemade curry and we had Chinese as a family last week but I'm thinking about portion rather than clearing the lot
Trying to remember to drink water too
Well done everyone 😊

Hi I'm checking in with 2lb off. A tad disappointed as have had bigger first week losses in previous efforts but will keep trying.

I have also had measurements done by PT so can see exactly what is changing.

He has calculated my basal metabolic rate as 2200 calories a day - basically the calories I need to consume to maintain my current weight as a 40 year old, who is 5ft 7 weighted in at 12 st last week with a light active lifestyle, and says my target calorie range is 1500 per day which I have to track in my fitness pal with significantly higher protein balance than I usually eat.

The plan is that this along with with the 3 x per week gym sessions will result in 1.5lb ish loss per week.

I have about 2 stone to lose but it already feels like a marathon rather than a sprint. Think my original goal of a stone by half term will be a challenge at this rate,

Good luck to everyone else and well done those seeing good results!!!

BrokenWing · 08/01/2019 21:35

High five tibni ✋🏼 well done 💪🏻

Chesterado all that heavy muscle gained from the PT session will have caused the discrepancy 😉. It is a good loss for a Fine Tuner so don't knock it!! it is better to be a marathon, with a sprint it doesnt take long to go back to where you started and we want this loss to last!

Wow massive well done everyone! We can do this, we are doing it! I think week 2 is harder because you loose that initial keenness of week one so let’s stick together and check in. It’s all about changing lifetime habits remember too not fad diets so one step at a time.
Starting to really get into this weight training and so am going to really try and up my protein levels (but still stick to calories). I need to loose the fat in order to see the muscles I am (hopefully!) toning underneath! Ordered some size 10 jeans today in the hope I will be in them by February, fingers crossed 🤞

How’s everyones week 2? I went slightly over cals yesterday because my husband cooked tea faints and it was fairly high calories however healthy. I didn’t log my exercise though and I have a fairly active job so hoping that balanced it out. I actually feel like my body is changing shape already my clothes seem to hang better. Feeling very positive 👍

For some reason this dropped off my list and I didn't see the @!

I've lost 4lbs so far - which I'm quite chuffed about. I think it's because I'm not drinking wine every night, have stopped snacking on anything unless it's an apple, and am really trying to be good!!

I also got the go ahead from my physio to start running/playing netball and riding again so I am really hoping I can ramp up the exercise (without then eating more calories than I'm losing!).

Well done @panicmode1. Today has been good for me. Tried a new weight lifting workout on YouTube rather than doing Jillian Michaels. Really really enjoyed it! I think I’ve found my ‘thing’. Feeling it in my bum now though, lots of weighted squats!
Also rode horse and walked dogs.
Today’s food; 1 toast and an apple + cups of tea. Lunch - 2 x poached eggs and 1 slice toast. Snacked on a couple of rice crackers with jam.
Dinner - large salad packed full of green veggies and half a hot ham & cheese baguette. Still under calories so may have a cheeky glass of wine to celebrate!
