Iv lost half a pound. Half a pound! Before anyone has a go, I Know this isn’t healthy but Iv been trying to lose half a stone for 10 months and haven’t shifted it. I decided, after many reviews, to try shake that weight where people were losing loads.... I know now this was designed for those overweight... I also know now the shakes have sugar etc in them. They were high protein so I wasn’t overly hungry,, shake for breakfast and lunch and then snack of fruit or something after work and healthy evening meal I had made but generally 800-1000 calories a day. For 2 weeks. Iv lost no inches either/

I am 5foot 2 and weigh 9 stone 3.6 so the top end of BMI. I have always weighed 8stone 10 which was ok. I work in an office but walk around as much as possible, walk to work, do about 12,000 steps a day.

Iv just had a load of bloods done for investigation and I may have fibromyalgia, awaiting referral, I can not go to the gym and I can not run. I do some basic things at home, skip a little bit when I’m not hurting, do a bit of yoga where I can so I’m not burning a lot of calories so it’s all down to how many calories I eat. I have a fitbit which I know can’t alwaya be trusted but according to that I burn 2000 calories a day... in the bloods I had my thyroid checked as I was thinking about under active thyroid but they said it was ok.

I’m vegetarian, don’t eat bread, pasta or oats etc as gives me stomach ache and have lactofree milk as also upsets my tummy otherwise. Before those stupid shakes I did not add any sugar in my diet just what is in foods ie fruit but that didn’t make a difference either. I only drink water, other than one coffee first thing. Iv tried calorie counting everything each day and I’m not missing anything out.... I’m 36 but no peri menopausal signs.... I know I need to ditch the shakes and go back to normal food now. Any suggestions?

I lose weight if I stick to 1200 cals a day properly.

Maybe the shakes are bollocks and actually 500 cals each

I've done low carb but I find MFP and weighing stuff for a bit really effective and so so easy

I’d lose 1lb or nothing. It’s annoying but some people can’t lose weight as easily as others. I have to eat 600-800 to lose 2lbs a week.

I'm doing a similar thing, averaging about 600 a day once you take my exercise out.
I'm 8 days in and lost 2kg. 4.4lbs.
Obviously not sustainable, just trying to shred and it's hell on earth.

If you don’t have much to lose then you can follow the basic principles but not calorie count, or do a 5:2 type plan. Please do drop in on our thread and say hi

I'm glad Bear dropped in with the link!

As for breakfast OP, I discovered I don't need it. That was a game changer for me.

But if I do have breakfast then a bowl of Fage Total yoghurt and raspberries or an omelette with spinach is my go to.

I weigh around what you do and am 5'4. I only lost weight when I ate around 1,200 a day and went to the gym for 2 hours every other day.
It was exhausting and took me a month to lose 7lb! I think it's just harder to shift weight when you're a healthy size

Ilmb · 17/10/2018 09:18

Thanks for the link I’ll pop over. thewise did you cut certain things out? I can’t go to the gym due to possible fibro Sad
