I'm possibly setting myself up to fail but enough is enough and I need to take control of my weight.
I'm getting married in 6 weeks and would love to shift about a stone by then and hopefully carry it through to Christmas with a goal of being 2 stone down for the New Year.

I'm currently 13st1, my ultimate goal weight is 10st but I think slow and steady is going to be more realistic.

Has anyone got any tips? Recipes or ideas?
I don't eat a lot of meat, I wasn't allowed growing up so not out of choice, I just never had. I do eat some fish and chicken.

We have young kids and my weakness is picking at their leftover tea or if they have treats in the house I just can't resist! Also when they won't go to bed i find myself eating really late dinners and often end up ordering rubbish food in from takeaways late at night out of ease/being lazy and tired!

I'm going to weigh myself every Wednesday and post it here so I can keep track / motivate myself so if anyone wants to join you're more than welcome!

I’d like to join you all too if that’s ok.

I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been; I’ve not been able to face the scales but I have 3 to 4 stones to lose. I’ve not been able to find inspiration at all this year with many failed attempts at various diets.

I saw a friend at the start of the week who I’ve not seen in a few months and in that time she’s given up smoking and become vegan. She’s lost 2.5 stone and looks amazing, not just weight loss but hair and skin too. So she’s inspired me to try and give veganism a try. I’m not sure I’ll manage it totally, or for very long but I’m definitely going to focus on a more plant based diet.

Saying that though my dd and I made a vegan carrot cake on Thursday and we’ve finished it already. Will try and face the scales in the morning and see what the damage is.

Are we all ready for another week of feeling good?

MamaJune · 08/10/2018 00:14

I feel fan-bloody-tastic! My clothes are fitting better and I've been drinking lots more water instead of fizzy drinks and my skin looks brand new.

Hi all, it's great to see how well everyone is doing. I was on holiday last week and so stepped on the scales with trepidation this morning. I was 2kg down on my starting weight, so feeling very pleased. I've done really well on being active but not so well on my diet. Healthy eating and small portions, and changing my scales to stones, is the plan from today.

sleepingdragon · 08/10/2018 17:28

Well done @MamaJune - you are doing fantastic

juguetico · 08/10/2018 22:20

I need to join this group! I've gained 2 stone over the last three years and I can't take it any longer. I can't fit into anything and I've been avoiding photos... I've stopped having alcohol and started exercising a couple times a week, and managed to drop half a stone since September. I need to get the other 1.5 off now! I love the idea of having a Christmas goal.

My strategy is to try to run 3x a week and lift weights 2x a week. I know diet has the biggest impact, so I'll keep off the wine :( and I'm going to try meal planning.

Good luck everyone!

Homemadehopeful · 09/10/2018 06:48

Just checking in quickly to see how everyone is doing.

Good weekend here, had half a bottle of Prosecco on Friday night at a friend's and half a bottle of red on Sun but other than that no alcohol over the week so am pleased with that.

Yesterday was a good day too, went to the gym with DH last night. Am struggling to get to 10k steps though so am trying to work on that, went for a fast 25 min walk at lunchtime yesterday.

Keep it up everyone Grin

My one area that I really hate is my arms - I feel like they're huge bingo wings!
Any tips for targeting them and trying to slim them down? 4.5 weeks until the wedding Shock

I would love to join you all too, please! I have 10lb to lose, which I know doesn't sound much but it's the difference between fitting in my clothes, or having to buy new ones. I have a Christmas party arranged, a fab dress in my wardrobe, but I don't fit in it at the moment... I'm already using MFP and I jog a few times a week, snacking is my downfall, so I'm hoping MFP will deter me!

Congratulations to everyone who is seeing results thus far!

Hi!
SW 190lbs
CW. 186lbs
I’m super happy. Feel so much better when my eating isn’t out of control.
Going to attempt 6lb loss over next two weeks.

EleanorLavish · 10/10/2018 12:55

Very true picture mamajune well done to you!

ceciliavictoria · 11/10/2018 11:52

I'm 5ft5 tall and weight 160lbs.
My story is that I suffered from bulimia last autumn & spring. But then I gained very fast 22lbs and during summer gained about 6lbs.

The weight doesnt show in my body in a way that it would be so obvious, cause I have had always muscle mass.

I read all of your post and I'm so happy that Im not alone. My weight goal would be 99lbs.

I have done alot of sports during my life, but in couple years I have focused on working.

We eat healthy home made food at home, but candy is my weakness.

I started couple of months ago doing every day 1-2h of superfast walking and then after that cycling with a exercise cycle for 1h at speed whole time 16-18mph so that = everyday I would burn 800 calories. doing that for 2 weeks no breaks I was so exausted.

No I'm going to start a new plan.

MrsVoleTheVet · 11/10/2018 12:30

Celia, you know that 99lb is a far cry from a healthy bmi.

I'm sorry you have to deal with your ED, but please aim for health for the sake of your family and yourself. Treat your body with kindness, you are worth it!

Homemadehopeful · 12/10/2018 07:57

Morning all, Friday weigh in for me and I am 1.6lbs down from last Friday and 4.2lbs down in just under 2 weeks. I am really pleased with this as I have eaten out twice this week.

Celia I have to say I agree with MrsVole. I am also 5ft 5 and there is no way I could ever aim for 99lbs. That is just over 7 st, which is well below a healthy him for a adult of our height. I am currently 10st 7lbs and that is still within the healthy range. I fully accept that we are all different but please be kind to yourself.

That image is a great reminder mamajune. They have a model of it in the gym we go to alongside what a lb of muscle looks like, needless to say there is quite a difference. Arms are always a difficult area but the only thing I can suggest is swimming, especially if you use pullvoy between your legs so only use your arms to move you along, or weights. Weights can be body weight exercises like press ups or dips in a chair (probably haven't explained that very well!!)

Have a good weekend everyone! I'm booked on to my first Body Attack class in months tomorrow morning! I have been trying to get my sister to come along with me for support!!!

MamaJune · 12/10/2018 21:19

It's getting really tough in my house, I'm working stupid long hours and my kids have decided they won't sleep, at all! Eurgh I'm trying to hard to keep strong but the urge to order a takeaway when it's 9.30 and the chances of me finishing work and getting them to sleep are a distant dream..

MrsVoleTheVet · 13/10/2018 07:19

Hi everyone, still trying to have healthy days here, but it's amazing how quickly my MFP calories get filled up Shock

I'm trying to drink loads of water too, and can definitely see an improvement in my skin, so that's something Smile

Homemadehopeful · 13/10/2018 11:36

Well I did Body Attack this morning and it was every bit as hard as I remembered!! I took my sister along with me which meant there was no way I could of ducked out half way through!! I just need to curb the feeling that after sweating that much this morning I can eat what I want for the rest of the day!

I had planned on having some wine last night but DH bought home a Chardonnay which I really don't like so my Friday night was alcohol free as a result. I was a teeny bit put out last night but grateful for it this morning as Attack with any degree of hangover is pretty unbearable!

I definitely need to keep an eye on my water intake too MrsVole. Thurs and Fri it was far too low and I felt the effects while jumping about sweating my arse off this morning! The number of glasses of water drunk is something I record in my new journal and even though I include tea (naturally caffeine free and with no milk) I still haven't managed to shade in all 8 squares on any day which is pretty poor!!

MamaJune · 13/10/2018 13:24

I'm also rubbish at drinking water. Pepsi Max is my big crave drink and my go to so I am not going to buy it anymore, or any other drinks for that matter.

Homemadehopeful · 16/10/2018 17:45

Just a quick check in before going out to walk the dog. Weekend ended up with a slight gain but have until Friday to shift that plus some. I am out tomorrow and Thurs so a tricky week. Tomorrow I am going to the cinema with my sister so that will be fine but the plan for Thurs includes a curry!! And probably wine!!

Hopefully others are still doing well Grin

MamaJune · 16/10/2018 19:14

An awful week for me, we had a family bereavement and it's thrown everything off.
Decided to do some baking today to cheer the kids up and then ate it all..

A few days here and there doesn't mean you've fallen off the wagon, in the scheme of things. Back on again when you're able!

It's my weigh day, since I committed a week ago... aiming for 1lb since I only want to lose 10 to get back to my usual/healthy weight.

Just checked and I am indeed down 1, 1.2 to be precise! I very much enjoyed entering this into MFP and watching the graph go down a bit Grin

I have been disciplined though, as well as running 3 times in the week, and I know the first bit is the easiest to lose, so I'm wondering if the effort is going to result in smaller losses from now on... will keep looking at that 1lb of fat pic to keep me motivated :)

Sending encouraging vibes to everyone else, plus Flowers to anyone having a touch time X

MrsVoleTheVet · 17/10/2018 08:18

*tough time

MamaJune · 17/10/2018 11:49

Start weight 13st 1
03/10/18 12st 12.5
10/10/18 12st 11
