Demented · 21/08/2004 21:50

OP posts:
gothicmama · 23/08/2004 12:17

I would like to lose 4 lbs by then - I think it is psyological as it would be a boost to be under a certain figure by then But I am pleased with my progress so far adn for all the help and support I have had here it has helped keep on track and to eat healthily so thank you

Someone give me a kick up the bum please!

After deciding that I was happy where I was 10st 11lbs (then I put on 1lb last week ) I've changed my mind and would like to get down to 10st 7lbs (roughly the weight I was when I got married) or 10st 4lbs (which would make my loss a nice round 3st). I am fairly happy where I am and I think this has made me a bit complaicent. I go on holiday the second week of October so have about 5/6 weeks to shift a bit more. I have taken the plunge and bought a bikini for the first time ever but still wouldn't say I had a perfect bikini body (far from it ) don't suppose I ever will have a perfect bikini body and when I did (in my mid to late teens) I thought I was too fat to wear one but I've bought the bloomin' thing now so had better try a bit harder!!!

Tell me to count my points, I know I've gone a bit Gillian McKeith but even pumpkin seeds have a point value I'm sure I can combine the two!!!

I've been slacking recently too Demented. I've got a crazy week just now (church holiday club - 87 kids registered, plus working, plus at the w/e dropping kids off at 2 different relatives 150 miles away so we can go to a wedding ...) BUT next week (3 Sep) they go back to school and normality returns

From then I would like someone to email my daily tracker and points total to, who will encourage me to keep at it! And I will reciprocate of course! Are you up for it?

I have been hesitating posting this for about 5 mins, because I'm guiltily content in my shirking. But I know I really should make an effort for another few weeks and get another 5 lb off, then I can switch to maintenance. (Hopefully).

Demented · 24/08/2004 15:34

That sounds good roisin, I'm not a proper WW member so you'll need to excuse me not being up to speed on the jargon. Do you just mean e-mailing each other at the end of the day with a food diary type thing with the number of points consumed and the other can either give a pat on the back or a slap on the wrists?

OP posts:
roisin · 24/08/2004 15:40

Yes, that's what I mean! I'm not a proper WW member either, but dh is - so I get to pick up all the jargon.

Demented · 24/08/2004 22:47

That sounds great roisin, just let me know what you want to start, hopefully not today as I've just had a takeaway!

OP posts:
gothicmama · 26/08/2004 09:40

D hope you have been counting your points !!!

Demented · 26/08/2004 15:10

hmmm, sort of.

OP posts:
gothicmama · 26/08/2004 15:15

ROFL just like me then

roisin · 26/08/2004 18:42

Demented: I'll start counting points again next Thursday ... is that OK? I'll email you then. (I'm away this weekend at a wedding, so need some flexiblity!)

MadameButterfly · 26/08/2004 20:00

PLEASE SOMEONE GIVE ME A KICK UP THE BACKSIDE.

I have fallen off the wagon and put on about 5lbs (will know for def when I weigh myself in the morning)

MadameButterfly · 27/08/2004 07:35

WEll, I HAVE put on but not as much as I thought.

MIL has given me quite an incentive. If I get down to 10st by Chrsitmas she will give me £100 to spend on myself, and a further £150 if I can get to 9st by the time we move into our new house (hopefully this time next year)

MUMINAMILLION · 27/08/2004 10:57

Hey Madamebutterfly. What a great idea! For those of us who dont have generous MILs, we should petition the government to sponsor us in our weight loss - £50 per pound should give me enough incentive to keep going . Cant see why they shouldnt agree with it - after all, they are all for the nation getting healthy and fit! Stayed the same this week boo hoo despite being very good. (TOTM) This must be the slowest weight loss in history.

lalaa · 27/08/2004 13:22

As slow as mine? I started in week 30 and have lost and gained since then - net result is a 1lb loss!!!!!!!!!

bran · 27/08/2004 13:39

Nice idea about govt. sponsorship M in a M, but you just know that they would claw it back (with interest) for every pound that you put back on .

MUMINAMILLION · 27/08/2004 15:55

Hee hee bran. Well, maybe that's not such a bad thing - it would be added encouragement not to pile it back on again!!! Think I might form my own party and push forward rights for the rotund (good name there!). Dont worry demented and artyalex - not going all political! Lalaa - be positive. At least you're down a lb, not up a lb!! Has anyone tried to slim using positive thinking?? You know, saying 200 times a day "I AM a wonderful, successful, slim person" and miraculously this transforms you into this dream-like persona. Perhaps it works because you dont have time to stuff your face in between repeating the mantra.

Demented · 27/08/2004 19:37

Here's to another week!

Oh and Muminamillion for Prime Minister!
