Fresh new week.

or is there somewhere near Oxfrod that has easier parking that would be good for a picnic? You're a local Jackie...

Kewcumber · 12/06/2007 16:44

am only suggesting OXford btw because it was the most convenient place for those who wanted to meet last time and was accessible to Midlands and London and in between. Would be happy to consider a London meet up but there's already one in July with ForcesSweeheart and I are going to so we could do a BigMoFos' subset!

JackieNo · 12/06/2007 16:44

I did wonder about Blenheim Palace, but it's quite expensive to get into, even just the gardens. Will have a think.

Hello - haven't posted in a while cos haven't weighed but did today and have lost another pound hurrah. It ain't much, but it's all in the right direction.
Have had 2 glasses of wine and a piece of cake today to celebrate mind, but can't all be about abstinence.
Is it decided what is happening about weights etc?

JackieNo · 13/06/2007 21:06

Well done EllieG. Good for you - that's good progress.

Not sure anything's been decided yet...

Hi All,

I've put on another lb which isn't suprising really as I've been picking at chocolate and biccies all week! I got some big bags of cadbury mini bars and lunch box packs of biccies for DH and DD to take camping over half term. Unfortunanetly the weather rained it off (no pun intended!) so they've been sitting in my cupboards calling to me!

I always think they're only little so don't have many calories, so they'll be ok! Which they would be if I only had one but I usually end up have 5 or 6 .

I'm up for an August meet up and any of those dates are fine!

I don't mind how the weights are done and I'm happy to keep track of my own overal loss but I do think it's good to have the weigh in as it is encouraging if other people show some interest in how you're doing, whether its congrats or a boot up the bum!!!!

JackieNo · 14/06/2007 17:59

Littlemisssensible - I've put on a pound too - I think you're all absolutely right - having the weigh-in does help to keep me more motivated. Sorry I suggested ditching it.

agalch · 14/06/2007 22:45

Put on a pound tonight which was pretty good considering i have spent all week stuffing my face.

I like the weigh in and posting and all that. But i'm not the one who has to do it so easy for me to say.

whoops · 14/06/2007 23:02

I lost 2lb this week and am 1lb away from the 10% loss and 3.5lb away from a 2 stone total! not sure how I will have actually done as had chocolate cake today & Toffee & hazelnt Torte yesterday!

WigWamBam · 15/06/2007 12:44

Hang onto your hats, ladies ...

We need a good shake-up and (another) fresh new start, I think. Shall I start doing the weights again, for all those who want to carry on with that? My old records are completely wrong now because I didn't keep up with what everyone had lost whilst I wasn't posting, so I'll have to start new ones. I can still keep up the old totals for those who want to - but you will need to let me know what your totals are, or what your start weight was so I can work it out from your current weight (which you'll also need to give me).

I don't know about anyone else but I'm becoming a bit complacent about my weight again, and I don't want to be. I want to take control of it, I want to shift it, and although running away from MN was something I needed to do for my head it was about the worst thing I could have done for my weight.

So ... are we going to take control again?

EllieG · 15/06/2007 12:53

Yes please. I like the weigh ins have decided they focus me somewhat.

TigerFeetFormerlyCheesyFeet · 15/06/2007 13:14

Count me in WWB

I have't been around much recently but I am back on the diet wagon again, I neeeeeeeed you ladies to keep me on the straight and narrow!

I think I will start from scratch so I am now 16st 0 lbs, no loss

My doctor has now got involved with my weight loss and is going to weigh me monthly. I desperately need to shed a couple of stone at least to help out my dodgy aging body.

Kewcumber · 15/06/2007 13:21

oh WWB you're not going to make me get a grip are you? Don't want to.

coppertop · 15/06/2007 13:22

I've been drifting again too. I think I might forget about weighing for a little while and just try to concentrate on eating better/less etc. One step at a time and all that.

WigWamBam · 15/06/2007 14:03

Yes, KC ... get a grip

Actually I just want to get a grip myself ... but if that means dragging everyone else along with me then so be it! (Although if you really don't want to then you don't have to ... but the shake-up is here if you need it).

whoops · 15/06/2007 14:13

Would you like me to come and be your motivation?!

I am still keeping up with everything even played tennis for 2.5 hours last night (am aching now for it though!!)

keeping up with the diet with the exception of the chocolate cake yesterday and a huge wedge of toffee & hazelnut torte!

JackieNo · 15/06/2007 15:44

Yes please WWB - me too. I've been coasting too, and although I'm not back on the wagon yet, I'm pretty sure I can see it in the distance, and I'm going to aim to get on it again. Will email my new starting weight. And thank you.

JackieNo · 15/06/2007 22:11

WigWamBam - just watching the news - hope you haven't been hit by any flooding.

OP posts:
littlemisssensible · 15/06/2007 23:02

WWB! Definately need a shake up here!

I was doing really well but its all going 'legs up' (more polite version of my grandad's favorite phrase!!!!) - (wanted to put politer but my pedant DH says there's no such word ......good job I love him!)

I'll e-mail a weight next week with what I've lost so far.

Hmmmmmm better take all those crisps and choccie snacks to the club this weekend so I'm not tempted to eat them in the evenings when I'm bored! Better get the knitting out again too!

WigWamBam · 16/06/2007 20:23

We've been pretty much washed out, Jackie! And, as usual, it always shifts up a couple of gears just as it's time to head off on the school run ...

SIL came up on the train from Cheltenham yesterday and it took nearly 4 hours (it's usually just over an hour) because of all the flooding on the outskirts of Birmingham.

So ... looks like the MoFos is back in business again I'll get the weights listed and new records made up when I get the chance. Do we want a short week and the first new weigh-in this coming Thursday, or a long one and have the first weigh-in on the Thursday after that?

JackieNo · 16/06/2007 20:36

Yes - how does the weather know it's time to go on the school run? Had our school and church combined summer fete today - started at 2, stayed dry till about 3.45 then the heavens opened. Everything completely washed out. Had to phone DH to come and give us a lift home.

Don't mind whether we have a long week or a short one - happy either way.

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 16/06/2007 20:39

It gets me every time. You can set your watch by the rain round here ... it was made even worse on Thursday when I found that my waterproof isn't, and neither are my shoes ...

Maybe I'll do a long week then, give people a chance to stiffen the sinews and get back on the scales!

JackieNo · 16/06/2007 20:41

Yes, I'm a bit lacking in the waterproof shoes department too. Particularly ones I can wear to work.

Kewcumber · 19/06/2007 14:14

I keep losing this thread - very freudian.

I'm going to bite the bullet and weigh in at Boots on Thursday. Properly.

I just don't know what will motivate me to get back on track but I can't carry on as I am. The trouble is that its not just a binge eating/emotional eating/pschological thing at the moment. It's also a "ohh that was yummy was else can I eat that tastes that yummy" also known as greed.

I don't want to give up cake and anyone who suggests that a lovely piece of fruit instead to satisfy those sweet cravings (a'la Weightwatchers) need a punch in the mouth because they are not normal

JackieNo · 19/06/2007 15:39

Mmm - me too (losing the thread, I mean). It's pretty quiet atm, though, so easy to do.

Have been eating loads of cake and biscuits too. DD had her school summer fair at the weekend, so made biscuits to take, and some to keep, plus bought cake there. And I was working at home today, and a colleague had bought me some toffee popcorn to eat while reviewing her CDs. I got a bit carried away, eating mindlessly, while watching these CDs, and then had a massive sugar low (crash? what's the term?) and actually had to go and lie down for 15 minutes. Never had something that bad before.
