...And I would like to look FABULOUS!!

I have been yo-yoing dieting for years. Tried every diet under the sun. Hate exercise but force myself to do it occasionally. I haven't worn anything fitted in years.

Well no more messing. I am 40 exactly six months today so Operation FAB@40 has begun!

I had eggs for breakfast and have resisted a mid-morning snack. Now about to have chicken salad for lunch.

Follow my journey - and join in if you like!

Well done on today's eating so far. You should easily drop that weight in six months if you go the low/no carb route and you will also have better skin etc and look younger as carbs make you puffy and bloated. Good luck - I will watch with interest. I am trying to lose a couple of pounds too so will keep you posted on my progress as well.

Countdownto40 · 11/07/2018 19:56

Welcome @OohOohMrPeevly and @twinkletoedelephant! Looking forward to you sharing your journey with me Smile

Went to a meeting and avoided biscuits - yay me! Dinner was breaded fish and vegetables. I had 10 cashew nuts and a skinny flat white this afternoon and didn't feel hungry all day. No crisps or chocolate which I haven't been able to say for months Blush

I had enough calories left over to have a couple of ciders to watch the England game 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. And have probably burnt a few calories jumping up and down watching England!

I had a huge red coca cola habbit.... I cannot have artificial sweeteners my body says no ;)

So dumping the coke and caramel latte habbit.... I just need to stop eating Soooooo many nuts.. only last 1/2lb this week as just had bread bread bread and somenuts;)

Countdownto40 · 13/07/2018 13:28

@twinkle - I am trying to focus on health as well as dieting this time so fizzy drinks are going to have to be a rare treat. Limit yourself to 1 a week? Wean yourself off by having one every other day?

Didn't get a chance to post yesterday, was SO busy at work! Menu wasn't great -

Keto cereal - basically a mix of nuts!
Lunch was a vegan wrap - falafels, etc, was yummy! Small side order of sweet potato fries.
Dinner was 40g rice and a chicken leg.
A small skinny flat white - I usually drink decaf but needed the caffeine yesterday.
2 marshmallows Grin

May I join you. I have just turned 39 and need to lose at least 40lb, also been yo-yoing for the past 20years and I too want to be fab by 40!

Today I weigh 200lb (14st 4 Sad) id like to be at 11st 7 by next year.

Countdownto40 · 16/07/2018 11:35

Welcome @everythingnow! The more the merrier.

Yesterday wasn't too bad but could've been better. I did over 20,000 steps though which helped!

Today I have had my keto cereal, and apple and 10 cashews. Big salad for lunch!

What is everyone else eating?

OP posts:
Countdownto40 · 16/07/2018 16:15

My salad was lovely - rocket, tomato, cucumber, onion, mixed beans, chicken and houmous. All from M&S and have brought enough to have lunch for the week Grin

Plus I've already hit my 10,000 steps and doing a Pilates class tonight!

I bought some bars from exante and am combining them with low carb meals.

Countdownto40 · 16/07/2018 21:47

Good luck @EverythingNow!

I had sausages and veg for dinner. OH cooked potatoes and there were too many so I had some - about 1 potatoes worth.

Off work tomorrow so will be starting the day with eggs.Smile

EverythingNow · 16/07/2018 22:37

Thanks! I had two bars and then a plate of fish and veg for tea.

I find low carb easier than SW or WW, but haven’t yet been able to sustain long term.

Countdownto40 · 17/07/2018 20:29

Well done!

I'm afraid I have succumbed to food to overcome tiredness - toddler had me up in the night. I'm not very good at this dieting malarkey am I? Still, I will keep going!

OP posts:
Countdownto40 · 17/07/2018 20:57

On the plus side I have done over 17,000 steps today!

OP posts:
Countdownto40 · 18/07/2018 15:32

Lost 1lb this week. Not a great start but at least it's not a gain!

Menu -

2 eggs scrambled & fruit when I got to work
Chicken and mixed bean salad
Thai red curry for dinner, with veg on side, no noodles or rice
Snacked on about 10 cashews.

twinkletoedelephant · 18/07/2018 16:22

I picked up my 2 1/2 stone award this week after loosing 4 lb this week ;) only 1/2lb last week .

Countdownto40 · 18/07/2018 22:00

Well done @twinkletoedelephant! That's fantastic!

Had a good day - way under calories and off to bed now Grin

EverythingNow · 23/07/2018 10:33

How’s everyone doing?
Weighed in at 198 today so 2lb off. The week was completely fine on plan, the weekend was not. However if I could lose 2lb a week doing that moving forward that would be great (I don’t think long term I’ll get away with it though!)

Countdownto40 · 23/07/2018 13:33

I'm here Blush

Thursday and Friday weren't great; I was away Saturday and Sunday so couldn't control the food. Need a good couple of days before weighing on Wednesday morning!

This is why I have given myself so many months notice to get this weight off! I need to factor in going off piste!

Well done on your weigh in!

Countdownto40 · 23/07/2018 22:31

Quick check in to say I had a good food day today! Grin

Always good to start the week on a good footing - sets me up nicely for the week! Nearly caved to an ice cream this evening but resisted!!

OP posts:
Countdownto40 · 24/07/2018 22:08

Today's menu

  • 2 eggs and a small slice of toast
  • naked burrito bowl and a skinny flat white
  • 1.5 sausages and a small slice of bread
  • small bag of popcorn

Slightly over calories but I've walked a lot with the pushchair today so hoping that cancels out any I went over!

OP posts:
Countdownto40 · 25/07/2018 21:00

How is everyone getting on? Another good day for me!

  • granola with protein, ss milk, ice coffee
  • Avo in a wrap with tomatoes and onions
  • meatballs and a tiny portion of pasta
  • Greek yoghurt and fruit for snacks
OP posts:
Countdownto40 · 30/07/2018 22:32

Slopes back in....!

Sorry for neglecting my diary! I've noticed a pattern - I seem to do well mon-weds then it goes downhill from there Sad. Well I guess at least recognising it means I can try and do something about it? Grin

Today went well plus I did Pilates! Day 1 done - again!!
