Because it takes a few weeks to kick in thats the reason. I have put it in bold because its SO important to understand Smile. Daffo is living proof!

VLCD etc can sometimes produce faster results but its often water (and sometimes muscle too).

Really, the trick is to 'keep at it'.

Note to self.

Basically when you start losing the glycogen out your fat cells initially they can refill with water

^ShesABelter explains it really well. The sudden "whoosh" of losing weight every so often is when the water goes!

TittygoLitghly thats amazing weight loss, like your tips, and sounds healthy too.

Try the Chemical Diet (google it) James Duncan, I lost almost 2 stone in 6 weeks using it.

Zombie Thread!!

Aridane · 20/12/2018 20:26

So weird - why is this July 2018 thread in TRENDING??

Ah - zombie thread revival

lljkk · 20/12/2018 20:35

I googled Chemical Diet James Duncan.

you must be bloody starving.

It's possibly fluid retention - period and increased exercise combi.
it will go.

Treebauble · 20/12/2018 21:12

I had weight loss surgery and I was told to go low carb and up my protein. I would stop milk completely. Even when I ate almost nothing, but still ate carbs I did not lose weight after my surgery. Since I went low carb after my surgery I have lost about 8 stone.

Huskylover1 · 20/12/2018 21:13

Anything less than 1000 cals a day and your body goes in to starvation mode, where it will literally not let you lose any fat, as your body thinks a famine is coming. I would recommend upping to 1200 a day and adding exercise. I did this, and lost 3 stone in 5 months.

In which case no one would ever die of starvation Hmm

PenguinPandas · 20/12/2018 21:23

Are you weighing yourself at the same point each day? Body weight fluctuates throughout the day and as to whether you've just eaten / drank - 3,500 calories is 1 pound so should have lost around 5 pounds so far but think body weight can fluctuate by that amount each day. Maybe weigh first thing every morning if you are not. Also if you are not active then you may need less than 2000 calories to maintain weight.

PenguinPandas · 20/12/2018 21:24

Just seen ZOMBIE thread.

Huskylover1 · 20/12/2018 21:56

aridane don't be silly, you can stay alive on 800 cals, but yes, of course you would die on zero cals.

lucy2204 · 20/12/2018 22:10

Go on a soup diet! It'll work

kr2726 · 21/12/2018 10:47

What you wrote is nonsense. I've been on an 800-1000 calorie "diet" for a long time now, and am ALSO not losing weight. You think we're "misjudging" our portions? OK, here's the lowdown. One can of Progressive lentils is 300 calories. 4 eggs is 320. A can of carrots and a can of beets are 250 combined--THAT is ALL I've been eating daily, and I am MAINTAINING 133 pounds. I WANT to get down to 120, but am going to have to go on a water fast, I see. THEN I can go back to the regime I just mentioned. I GAIN weight on 1200-2000 calories a day. Always have.

lljkk · 21/12/2018 16:50

What do you do for exercise, kr2726?
What drinks do you have all day.
I honestly think people like you should get in touch with scientists; the solution to food scarcity could be in folk like you.

PenguinPandas · 21/12/2018 20:22

I would go for medical tests kr2726 if you aren't losing weight over a long period on those level calories (unless you also are drinking lots of drinks that are high calorie but presumably not).

Your calories look like they are adding up to about 1200 not 800

MuddyNelly · 28/01/2020 20:39

Been on 800 calories since jan 1st.
Lost in weeks one and two but last 2 weeks....nothing. It’s disheartening but I’m going to continue in case my body is just holding out on me. I’m 15 stone so plenty of weight to loose. Just doesn’t make sense
