And what size does that make you?

I’m currently 10 st 10, I feel good at 10 stone but my goal is 9 st 10. I’m currently a 10/12, 10 stone will make me a solid size 10.

I think once you are around 10st or below it’s more about your general fitness than your weight.

QueenOfMyWorld · 24/05/2018 08:33

I'm 5ft 9 and I'm also a size 10 at 10 stone so a couple of inches must not make a difference,I always thought it did

HillsBesideTheSea · 24/05/2018 08:34

Murane there is a reason why you can't use BMI on people who train more than a certain number of hours per week. Fat takes up more space but weighs less. Muscles weighs a heck of a lot more for a smaller space. Get you body fat percentage down to the healthy level, train a significant amount /week then it is really really easy.

Unfortunately I no longer have access to body fat calipers and a person trained to use it else that would be my preferred method of weigh measuring. also read the small print re-body fat % features on scales, this is often not recommended for lots of exercise people

marshmy · 24/05/2018 08:35

i'm 5'7 13.5 stone a size 14 when i'm 12 stone i'm a size 12 and i'm quite happy with that

HillsBesideTheSea · 24/05/2018 08:35

Also what floatyFLo said ^^

KathyBeale · 24/05/2018 08:39

I think the healthy weight range for our height is 9st 3lb - 11st 11lb.

I’m 5ft 7. I have been overweight and dieting for years and now I want to cry because I have so far to go. Really ahouldn’t have read this thread!

SayNoToCarrots · 24/05/2018 09:00

I like 10st7. I naturally hover around 11st and a size 12, dropping half a stone takes me down a dress size. As soon as I do though I start liking the idea of 10st . . .

Mymadworld · 24/05/2018 10:38

@Murane I wonder how many of us would think you look fat as you could have a very different perception of what is acceptable and what you actually look like

Porridgeprincess · 24/05/2018 11:10

Surely this is very individual depending on your build and where you carry weight etc?
If you are not happy with where you are then of course go ahead and lose more but there is no "supposed to be" weight and there is no corresponding size to that.

Greenandcabbagelooking · 24/05/2018 22:07

Currently 8 stone 10, which is about acceptable.

I have been as light as 8 stone 2, but my periods stopped then. I quite liked my body though...

NameChanger22 · 24/05/2018 22:13

I'm 5.6. I look very thin when I'm under 9 stone. Ideal for me is between 9.7 to 10. I'm more than that now, probably 11.7 - I'm size 12/14. I don't weigh myself as I feel much better about myself when I don't.

FelicitationsFacilitations · 24/05/2018 22:13

5ft7, 12st makes me a size 12. Currently 13.5st and ppl dont think im 'fat' at size 14. I think im just about ok but dont want to go any higher. I have big bones - literally, compare my wrist joints, fingers etc to other women and i'm just more heavilg built. I'd look absolutely ILL at less than 10st

Smellylittleorange · 24/05/2018 22:34

At 10st 10 i was a 14 bottom 12 top. I carry weight on my bottom thighs and chest. My ankles are ok. Im way too overweight now

Grrrrinch · 24/05/2018 23:49

@AndInOtherNews well done, how? Smile

lurkingfromhome · 27/05/2018 20:52

5ft 7 and 10 stone makes me size 12. I find it very very difficult to go below 10 st without utterly starving myself, so I feel that's pretty much my natural weight.

It's so weird how we carry weight differently and there are people who weigh more than me but are a dress size smaller. My weight is all round my waist and I have stick-like arms and legs so that probably accounts for a lot of it ...

Halebeke425 · 27/05/2018 21:08

Also 5ft 7.

When I was 10st I looked positively gaunt, was a size 8 and it was a real struggle to get that low and I couldn't lose anymore. Obviously couldn't maintain either so weight crept up to around 13ish which is always where I seem to come back to (though have been as high as 16stone+). I'm all arse and thighs, tiny waist so live in dresses, never jeans or trousers and at 13st about a size 14. The weight I like being at most is around 11st to 11.5 that way I still feel curvy and a size 10 -12. I'd like to get back there and stay there but I get complacent as I don't really 'look' overweight, slim face and waist.

HelenaJustina · 27/05/2018 21:15

5’7 and and used to be happy at 10stone.

Then I lost weight due to illness and although I put some of it back on, I’m now maintaining at 9 1/2.

Though I now have to watch what I eat a lot of the time. At 10stone I ate whatever I wanted.

I run three times a week, do 2 free weight sessions and a yoga so am carrying a fair bit of muscle.

HelenaJustina · 27/05/2018 21:16

Forgot, am a size 10 pretty much everywhere. 8 if extreme vanity sizing!
