I'm down to one pair of jeans that fits

I have gained three stones from being a chocolate whore.

I genuinely only have one pair of jeans that fit me, nothing else fits. I flatly refuse to buy larger new clothes.

Today is the day that I am am going to sort myself out. I've had enough of feeling embarrassed about how I look.

Not sure of my weight, I'm guessing around 11st 10 I shall weigh myself in a bit. I'm only 5ft 4 and carry all the weight around my middle.

It you are in the same boat please join me.

kirstin that is interesting re sugar addiction. Like a pp I can ignore sweets etc but put cake, chocolate in front of me and i’m a gonna. I also agree that any ‘diet’ that makes you think about what you are eating and therefore likely cut calories is going to make you lose weight. I am currently low carbing because I have to follow something to lose weight and it seems easiest for my lifestyle but I also appreciate it is the latest fad.
Good luck OP, I have 5 stone to lose and it’s massive bars of chocolate and snacking that does it for me so shall be watching with interest.

If you crave the chocolate hit then make a cup of cocoa as you would a cup of coffee - a small spoonful of cocoa powder, fill mug with hot water and top up with milk. But NO sugar. You get the chocolate fix with about 30 calories.

That's a good idea Vanilla, I will remember that. I'm pretty sure I have cocoa powder lurking in the cupboard. Thanks Smile

Had to laugh at your ‘ 4 pairs of knickers ‘ - YES!!

Nobody mentions that when you get fat, it’s not just your jeans you can’t wear!!

I wonder if you could be having a bit of caffeine withdrawal as well? There’s a bit in chocolate. Maybe an extra cup of coffee will help with the headaches?

sadiesilva · 12/05/2018 08:29

Thanks Awkward, I have just taken two paracetamol extra with caffeine and had another coffee so hopefully this headache will shift. I'm pretty sure it's a withdrawal thing and I'm just going to have to ride it out. Google tells me that after three days I will start to feel better!

I'm going to busy myself in the garden today although rain is forecast all day from 11 so we shall see.

I have decided to put £3 in a pot every day that I abstain from the chocolate and treat myself to something at the end of each week. This weeks treat will be shiny new knickers that don't cut me in half. I'm excited for new pants!

Comfy pants are one of life’s essentials! I bless the day I finally succumbed to the lure of M&S ‘full briefs’ Grin

Kristen does have a point. That is why pizza is delicious to many of us. It is the combination of fat and carbs

However there have been studies on rats I believe where it has showed sugar releases dopamine in the brain causing the rats to go back for more to get the release.

I do believe sugar is very bad for the human body and causes all sorts of issues.

Fat is much healthier imo

I am however slightly overweight from being unable to resist the carb fat combo Smile

@AwkwardSquad Mens "trunks" underpants are awesome, I've taken wearing them most of the time.

I may experiment, NeeChee Can you use the extra fabric in the crotch to store small items? Could be handy Grin

Hi @sadiesilva , another chocoholic here!

Someone recommended to me getting the 12 weeks to Wow app. It's £2.99 a month and is based on hypnosis. So far everything I have tried has failed....several times. Now I've started using this app I haven't touched chocolate for almost 5 days. Or any other sugary things for that matter. I don't even crave it. I honestly can't believe it has worked so well this far.

I will be raving about it to everyone from now on! Have a look at it xxx

Also I'm aware that 5 days doesn't sound very much but I can usually guarantee that I will fail in the first 24 hours x

Good idea in the £3 m!

I quite like plain popcorn spilled with sweetener of coco powder post dinner pre sleep

Strawberry, that app sounds interesting. I will have a look later. Five days with out chocolate is fantastic, you are on day six today so well done.

I managed to get through another day without chocolate so that's three days done, like you I would normally fail within 24 hours.

I probably should have made a better food choice for dinner last night. I was home alone so didn't have to cook so I had pizza. In my defence I only ate three slices but this time last week I would have eaten all eight slices followed by a family bar of chocolate.

I am definitely feeling less bloated. I am going to weigh myself in a bit. I was 11stone 6 when I started on Thursday and I hoping that I weigh slightly less.

I have £9 now in my jar, that's gotta get me a new pair of pants.

*LOUD SHOUTING ALERT
*
The scales tell me that I weigh 4 pounds less. I checked three times and again once I had showered and there is a constant 11stone 1pound. Although I do appreciate that the loss isn't actual fat loss and it's just bloat loss I am very much encouraged. I shaved my legs to celebrate. Little things!

Hi. New to mums net but seen some of your posts and thought I would join. Like a couple of you, I have found my jeans to be getting tighter (and the knickers ha ha) and fed up of every year when the sun starts to come out thinking how much I hate the wobberly belly, thighs and ass. So I have decided that as of last week in on a diet. Again!!
I struggle with the chocolate and I eat my own body weight in food between tea and bed. I need something to get me out of this stupid mentality of no food all day just lots off coffee and a million calories after 6pm. Any advice ladies? p.s as of tomorrow will be starting with slim fast shakes. Hopefully for breakfast and tea and then have a good lunch in the middle. Anyone done slim fast? Any good results if so?? Thanks xx

Morning Pembo

Good luck with your Slim fast diet today. There is a slim fast thread going in weight loss chat that you might want to have a look at. I can't link as I'm on my mobile.

I survived yesterday without chocolate so that's four days down. Finally my headache has gone and I am feeling a little more normal.
