And its a poor show this week ladies, with me with no total as broke and havnt had time to change, although will do it today i promise. And we only have 3 people reporting in!!!!

So This weeks top scorer is EarlyBird with 58,923
then Tommy with 53,053
and Madambutterfly with 44,183

Not the highest scoring week weve had but the weather has been way to hot for walking, thats my excuse anyway.

Spod - that's amazing that you did those sorts of distances in this heat. Congratulations. You topped all of us by a loooonnnggg way!

MadameButterfly · 08/08/2004 18:43

WOW, that is fantastic spod.

That is better anh my best when I seemed to walk for miles. My total then was only 67,000

spod75 · 08/08/2004 21:16

I've knackered myself out for this week though, have spent the last 2 days on the settee!
I had some mates over and we did the touristy thing 2 days running. At least I hope it was that and not that I've set the thing wrong.?

Spod

Tommy · 08/08/2004 22:19

At least I can say that I was second this week So far, yesterday = v. good, today = rubbish. I was just about to go for a walk earlier on this evening (to Co-op to buy cream to sandwich a cake but that's not the point ) but some friends dropped by so we all sat in the garden drinking wine instead! God, I'm taking this trying to lose weight and get fit thing sooo seriously!

motherinferior · 09/08/2004 09:51

Can I crash lurkily and ask where you got your pedometers, etc...?

Earlybird · 09/08/2004 10:40

Got mine at a camping/outdoors store.

PamT · 09/08/2004 10:50

Argos do a reasonable one for £10, I got a special K one (but it doesn't do miles, only km's) and McDonalds are doing free step counters with their salad meals at the moment but they only count steps - nothing else.

I was reading that they aren't accurate when walking up/down hill, or when wearing sandals and need to be clipped to the belt/waistband but nearer the hip than the navel. What do you do if you're wearing a dress? clip it on your knickers? (imagine hitching your frock up to see how many steps you'd done?)

motherinferior · 09/08/2004 11:40

Thank you!

ponygirl · 09/08/2004 20:37

Hi guys, I am still here! Sorry I didn't get the figure to you, CP3, but here it is: 59,600.

Tommy · 09/08/2004 20:45

Why are you so keen?! I'm third now
(Well done BTW

Earlybird · 09/08/2004 21:10

Well......at the rate I'm going so far this week I may set a new record for the LOWEST weekly total on record! Had a deliciously lazy day today, which was heaven - but it probably put a dent in my walking week that I won't recover from. Oh well, there's always next week......

Chinchilla · 09/08/2004 21:20

I haven't worn mine since last Thursday! Will wear it tomorrow.

Evening Twiglett

The target is 10,000 a day.

We all keep track of our totals throughout the week and email CP3 on a friday night/saturday morning with our totals for the week (Saturday-Friday)

She then posts the results when she has them all in.

The email address is [email protected]

mummytojames · 10/08/2004 20:29

hi lady hope you dont mind me jumping in got mine yesterday started wearing today ad my total so far is 5429 considering the amount of walking i felt like ive done today its rubbish oh and i got mine from macdonalds its ok for now and those who wear dresses get a belt you will need it

Bozza · 10/08/2004 21:45

Can I join too. Have been doing my totals since Saturday. Not very good though because have not got the hang of wearing it all the time and DH on holiday so not getting my usual walking routine together. Actually I find it works quite well clipped to my knickers - its a fairly small, basic one from ITV/O2.

Sorry, Tommy!

If it makes you feel any better, 14,000 or those were on one walk. Without that I'd have been way down! I blame the holidays - do much more in term-time!

MadameButterfly · 11/08/2004 08:00

MY cliphas broken again. I think it will just about last until I can get into town to get another one.

So far this week I have done approx 28,5000

MadameButterfly · 11/08/2004 14:03

I have bought a new pedometer from argos today. JUst put it on now.

So far today I have dove just over 11,000

Chinchilla · 11/08/2004 20:13

I did 10,000 yesterday, but then SPRAINED MY ANKLE on my Reebok rebounder. Sooo...no total today, although ankle is much better now, so I might try to walk a bit tomorrow.

Today, I had a look at how many mine counts. When I wore it on my waistband (fairly low and where I normally wear it) it under-counted the steps I did and when I wore it on my pocket (nearer my hips) it over-counted! I've got the one from weight watchers as it counts points.

sarochka · 11/08/2004 21:28

Hi
Would it also be ok for me to crash this? I remembered that I had a ped thingie and started wearing it again today. I am ashamed that I walk soo little and not nearly as much as I thought I did. this should do me good.
