One slenderista desperately seeks wagon...

I weighed myself this morning and I've gained six (SIX!!) lindas since mid-March. Help!!

Hoolahoophop · 03/04/2018 19:51

Flowers ofthread take care of yourself and if it will help post here.

Spuriouser Confused oops. I'm much the same. Time to loose the lindas again.

When Im trying to eat sensibly I wonder if the whole nation has an unhealthy relationship with food. There always seems to be some occasion requiring excessive stuffing of unhealthy food. Angry

menacetosobriety · 03/04/2018 19:53

Hope you are back soon off

Loving these posts thanks everyone :)

Had a buffet at work for lunch - managed to write everything down which helped me stop eating - got a few calories left for tonight so chocolate is on the cards - just enough to knock the sweet tooth off for a bit:

ponygirlcurtis · 03/04/2018 20:00

Flowers Ofthread - I know how hard it is to connect with others when you feel overwhelmed, keep reading and post when you feel able. It will help. 😊

Well done menace! I am still chasing that wagon - Spuriouser, if you reach it before me, chuck us a rope, eh?

Softpebbles · 03/04/2018 20:23

Ofthread. Another that understands mental health. Keep reading and following. Join in when you feel ready. Try to get out for short periods of time.

I wouldn't snap your hand off for a custard cream. A ginger nut - now you're talking!

FizzingWhizzbee · 03/04/2018 20:37

ThanksOffthread - hope things improve soon.

Spurious and Hoola - I'm glad we've got a big wagon, there are lots of us back on it!

I'm giggling to myself about 'evening snickers' - surely an early contender for May's thread title!

BitOutOfPractice · 03/04/2018 21:12

Oh that big wagon is going to trundle on through April, picking up any stragglers. I've had a low day today. I. Will. Not. Snack.

ofthread Flowers

majesty I'm quite partial myself to a post dinner snicker... Wink

menace a work type meeting lunch is often my downfall so well done for keeping track

Thanks for the welcome. I am posting again as I've closed my mfp diary for the day and I'm desperately trying to stop myself from carrying on the eating post dinner like the past 2 nights Must keep my eye on prize....

A golden day for me (needed after the Easter weekend) Blush

poorpaws · 03/04/2018 22:53

Offthread Flowers and love. Come back to us soon.

No custard creams for me, it has to be a Hobnob. I would eat a whole packet of custard creams if there was nothing better though 🐷

Started well today, 3 hour dog walk, 2 hours hard labour in the garden and a late food shop so 20,000 steps which I’m happy with.

I’m definitely on the wagon today and slowing it down so everyone can jump aboard; we all need to be on it this month.

TooSmallForSchool · 04/04/2018 08:30

Thanks for the welcome.

I wish I was one of those people too fizzing. Once I start I find it unbelievably hard to stop.

I sunk to a new low on Monday night - went shopping late afternoon and ‘accidentally’ put a pack of Pringles in the trolley. Then ate the lot whilst hubby was out that evening and burnt the evidence in the fire to avoid any questions if the packet had been spotted in the recycling Blush.

Weighed myself yesterday and am 10 st 3. It’s not terrible but I’m petite and haven’t weighed this much since I was 8 months pregnant.

So today is a new day. I’ve started MFP and managed a run yesterday.

Great to have some company.

(Will try the cocoa idea tonight)

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 04/04/2018 08:55

Oh dear toosmall that sounds like something I would do Blush

It's been three days since my last hot cross bun Shock and I'm surviving. I suppose it's a good thing my big weakness is seasonal Easter Grin

Weighed in this morning at 10 11.4 which isn't too bad after such an indulgent weekend. Following on from my question about targets I've decided to split the difference and aim for 10 7. That gives me a bit of leeway to fluctuate and stay within a healthy BMI.

Please can someone talk me through this weekly average thing in simple terms?

WeirdCatLady · 04/04/2018 09:07

Quim, I’ve got about 7.5 stone to go to even make it into the healthy bmi bracket so I’ll be plodding on for a while.

Moved an exercise bike into the dining room last night to encourage me to move a little. I’m hoping I can get into doing a bit of gentle cycling whilst watching tv. I’ve got to be careful what I do as I’m hugely overweight and have arthritic hands and knees 🙄

ponygirlcurtis · 04/04/2018 10:08

It's been three days since my last hot cross bun
BishopBrennan, that sounded like some kind of Hot Cross Buns Anonymous statement! 😆

That's a good idea WeirdCatLady. I found that even doing steps in front of the TV helped me, I think it's partially to do with being focused and committed - you are focused so you are doing things to help you lose weight, then the things you do help you stay focused IYSWIM. memo to self

QuimReaper · 04/04/2018 10:14

TooSmall I am Grin at you actually burning the evidence!

Ofthread so sorry you're so low. Please don't feel you need to hide - it won't help and we're here for you Flowers

Maj I am in awe of the 8-minute planking, I've never managed more than about 1 minute in my life! Were you all ripped? I still have such a big jiggly belly, I really need to tighten it up. I don't ever really watch live television so those convenient advert breaks don't crop up, wonder when else I could squeeze them in...

Sesame welcome and well done on your progress so far! 4lbs by May is definitely do-able, we won't let you go shopping for new clothes!

Spurious I think you're going to do a BOOP Holiday Weight on that Easter 6. Get on that wagon at once and it'll be gone by the end of next week!

Hoolahoophop · 04/04/2018 10:16

What do you log your stats on kick I'm using my Fitbit app. It automatically tells me what my average weight for the week us based on all the weights I log. Then I compare to the previous week and cry

Ham and mushroom omelette for breakfast shared with dd. But gaurenteed to over eat today as dd has an appointment at gosh this afternoon and we will find out what the next plan for treatment is. It's going to be tearful so I'm going to eat. I'll fast tomorrow.

QuimReaper · 04/04/2018 10:18

I thought the same thing pony - "forgive me father for I have sinned, it's been three days since my last hot cross bun..." Grin

WeirdCat the exercise bike is such a good idea! If you're watching television anyway it'll be brilliant to burn a couple of hundred extra calories, I think if you make a habit of it it'll be really helpful. I'd love to do the same but it'd be such an eyesore in our living room, which is why I hula hoop - can you get collapsible bikes or anything?

lastqueenofscotland · 04/04/2018 10:27

Thankfully I'd rather lick the floor than eat hot cross buns... my skin is showing the marks of the amount of chocolate I've eaten Blush

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 04/04/2018 10:37

Grin yes I am clearly letting the Father Ted username affect me. Lots of Catholic guilt around recent HCB consumption.

I log on either mfp or fitbit. They talk to each other gossip about my weight but I think we've previously discussed that the fitbit app only accepts whole Lindas. Is there a way to make it acknowledge my measly ounce losses?

FizzingWhizzbee · 04/04/2018 10:47

Last - same and sameSmile

Kick - what Hoola said re: averages. Basically all you do is give Fitbit your weight every day, and then if you click on the ‘weight’ tile on the app, it will show you your current and past weekly averages. We have magic techno scales that connect to our wifi to –grass me up to-- update both Fitbit and MFP with my weight, but it works just the same if you enter your weight manually.

I am sure someone worked out a way to let you do ounces in Fitbit not so long ago. Was it via the website rather than the app?

I was 12st 8.6 today, so slightly up on yesterday, and about 2 Lindas up on where I ought to be. I’ve been trying to work out why I’m so distressed about this, given it is really only minor fluctuation, and actually not that bad given the volume of Easter chocolate I have eaten. I think it is because I have been here before, and so frequently found life getting in the way and ending up slipping back into old habits. With my holiday looming, which will be difficult diet-wise, I feel I’m at risk of putting it all back on again.

I need to snap myself out of it! I have one night out planned but other than that I should have 8 good days before holiday, which is enough to sort out the Easter-induced fluctuation, and I know I can fix any holiday-related gain in a couple of weeks. So I need to see this as a mini-maintenance period before pushing on again later this month. And I also have to remember I have the lovely Slenderistas as a support network this time, which is honestly making such a difference. I will NOT give up! And I WILL fit in all the lovely thin clothes that are currently languishing in the loft!

QuimReaper · 04/04/2018 11:16

Fizz it's definitely understandable when you've been there before - or rather, when you've been in the "post there" before, several Lindas heavier, in despair and wondering how you let it happen. It's obviously not good to panic over every little gain in the long term, but on the plus side, being on red alert means you're really in the zone now and you won't let yourself be sidetracked. I think when you've maintained the loss for a while the fear will go.

(Well, maybe not completely go, but not flare up at the slightest provocation!)

Hoolahoophop · 04/04/2018 11:37

kick it will basically allow you two measures so stones and lbs or lbs and ozs. So rather than 9st 3oz I now enter 129lbs 3oz. You can change it in settings. Hope that helps.

Will you all hate me if I tell you I haven't eaten a single hot cross bun or Easter egg?

MajestyRoyal · 04/04/2018 11:40

TooSmall Burning evidence Shock naughty naughty

Kick how have the HCB meetings been going Grin and I am also giggling at your apps bitching about you behind your back Grin

Quim not ripped in a body building sense no, but I did a lot of gymnastics when I was younger which gave me stupid amounts of core strength and flexibility. Off I go to get a hula hoop

Currently catching up on soaps, will try to do some stretches and bits of exercise with the curtains shut, let's hope DS doesnt get in the way off my fat arse or he will be propelled backwards when I squat. Not that it would be the first time I've accidentally abused him. Grin

Ellieboolou27 · 04/04/2018 12:35

Hi all, I must be the fattest here at 13.12 Blush not been great to be honest, loads of eggs and chocolate left just not been motivated!

Starting to track my calories on my fitness pal, I’m always hungry!

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 04/04/2018 12:49

Thanks hoola. I've changed it and it works. I'm going to go for daily weigh ins now.

And I'm not surprised you haven't eaten any hcbs. I ate ALL of them Easter Shock

All the best for this afternoon. We'll be thinking of you and your lovely dd. Flowers
