I braved the scales this morning and appear to have put on 4lbs since December 23rd!

Feeling sluggish and bloated. I'm off for a run when OH gets back from the gym, I know it's going to be hideous!

Then one last blow out this evening as we have friends coming for dinner, and then it's Dry January for me and back to healthy eating (hopefully!).

Anyone else?

I don’t get on the scales until tomorrow as diet starts 1 Jan , but usually it’s about 5lbs! I’m doing Dry January and also no sugar, lots of veg soups etc.

DavetheCat2001 · 31/12/2017 09:26

I always find Dry Jan tough at the start but after a week or so I get completely out of the drinking habit.

Dared to jump on the scales this morning. I've gained 8lbs Shock. I thought my face was looking more round than usual. I've maintained for two years but it's time to get back on the healthy eating plan again. We've got one last meal out today, all the crap food has been eaten and the last bottle of alcohol will be used to toast in the new year. It's probably all the alcohol that did it in the first place Blush. I've got a wedding to attend at the beginning of March so need to look my best! Maybe I'll get round to losing that last 7lbs I didn't get rid of last time.

I've lost around half a stone over Christmas Sad

00100001 · 31/12/2017 09:50

I lost 2lbs

BeyondThePage · 31/12/2017 09:52

I have lost a stone this month. Recovering from a heart attack motivates you. Sad

ARichVernacular · 31/12/2017 09:56

I'll tell you tomorrow when I get on the scales Grin Feels like about a stone. Looking forward to dry January and temperance in all things.

Johnnycomelately1 · 31/12/2017 10:48

Lost 3lbs due to flu since Christmas Eve. I feel totally cheated out of Christmas and it’s beige yumminess. I couldn’t even face wine so it must be bad.

DavetheCat2001 · 31/12/2017 11:18

Sorry to hear that Beyond. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Just dragged myself out for a slow plod, it was very un-enjoyable!

I'm back on the wagon tomorrow though. Hoping to shift the lb's I have put on by the end of Jan.

I have lost 5lb since 20th December despite Christmas - I do tons of walking and more cycling than usual whenever I am not at work.

I always lose weight when I am on leave from work because I move more than when I am sat at my desk for 40 odd hours a week.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 31/12/2017 11:25

I'm getting on the scales on Tues, dreading it, clothes feel tighter and face def fuller!

Not surprising really as I've treated December a bit like a month long all inclusive break 😂

snowqu33n · 31/12/2017 11:27

A couple of jumpers and some thick socks

hamburgers · 31/12/2017 11:33

Lost 7kg/1st since having DD 11 days ago. 2.5kg left till pre-preg weight!

Bobbiepin · 31/12/2017 11:39

Gained 2lbs over Xmas day & boxing day then was very good the rest of the week and have lost 4lbs. I am bf though so that helps.

Nannyplumssillyoldelf · 31/12/2017 11:42

I've just weighed and I've put on 9.5lbs! I've been off track all of December so I was expecting more. Takeaway tonight then back on it tomorrow.

Trialsmum · 02/01/2018 08:31

According to the scales nothing but I do feel a bit... squidgy. Maybe I’ve lost a bit of muscle mass due to less exercise. Back on it now though!

mammymammyIRL · 02/01/2018 08:35

Gained 6lbs since Dec 23rd - back on track today & giving up alcohol for the year on Sat morn Grin doing R.E.D. January too

DavetheCat2001 · 02/01/2018 08:44

Weighed myself again this morning, first thing and I appear to have lost 2.5lbs overnight!

I think as a pp said a lot is just liquid retention and once you start eating normally again/stop boozing it disappears. Got a few lbs to lose but hoping that shouldn't be too difficult as am back on eating well again/Dry January.

Not weighed but I noticed last night my thighs looked twice the size Shock
I was hungover yesterday so ate nothing so I'm seeing that as a detox Grin
I'm giving up the booze indefinitely and going to try and tackle my sugar addiction.

catgirl1976 · 02/01/2018 09:25

My scales say I've put a stone on

Surely they are broken?

It was standing on them this morning that has sent me running to this section of MN

Help!!!! :(

Frouby · 02/01/2018 13:26

I have put on about 7lbs since 11th December. In fairness we had a weeks holiday on 13th and we ate lots then too. Plus dp has been off work since end of November and he is a feeder. He has put a stone on so I feel ok with my 7lbs.

Am definetly looking forward to healthier eating tho. And am doing dry january too.

Homemade turkey curry for tea. Will make a crustless quiche with leftover gammon. And buy stuff for soup. AND STOP EATING ALL THE FECKING BREAD.

Farawayfromhere · 02/01/2018 13:30

About 3lb.

PrinceMichaelOfMoldavia · 02/01/2018 13:34

Lost 3lb. I have no idea how as the last few weeks have been an orgy of Pringles, mince pies, quality street and pigs in blankets. Must be my IBS.

Gromance02 · 02/01/2018 13:37

Nothing. I'm not skinny (size 12) but I just don't eat or drink any more at Christmas.

Timeandtune · 02/01/2018 13:39

I have stayed the same by weighing myself everyday. Have lost 10 pounds v gradually since September.
