Buda, I did her a link to the Charles Clark book.

Thanks BD - just thought I'd bump the thread so she could find us if she wanted to. Must learn to do links!

Off to cook my omlette!

OrmIrian · 24/04/2007 13:01

stitch - breakfast is always the clincher for people failing at lc. It is for me anyway although strangely I didn't dive into the muesli or toast and honey when i gave up this time - I'd learned my lesson a bit. You can (when you've got the WOE estalbished) have yoghurt for breakfast with a few berries. The Clarke diet permits 1 slice of low-GI bread (Burgen sunflower and soya bread I believe which is yummy) so you could have that with a boiled egg.

Thanks bonniedarko..... Do I know you? Are you in disguise.... . Yes the karate is out of bounds for now... and running and everything else that I enjoy. Funny how I still seem to have to do everything else though

hello all.
Sally-everyone else has done links to clark book, sorry I didn't reply .Hope you're feeling better soon.
Think I've been good today,I love the clark plan because I'm allowed that one slice of bread, tis my saviour!
I had delicious dinner of giant flat mushrooms, with gorgonzola cheese and garlic wrapped up in parma ham mmmmmmmmmmmm. From a sainsbury's ad.

Budababe · 25/04/2007 09:08

Ooh ggirl that sounds yummy - may try that if I can find flat mushrooms! Not always available here in Budapest.

Well - forgot to say that I weighed myself yesterday and weighed in at a whopping 103.6 kilos - aaargh! Heaviest ever ever ever. That is 16st 4lbs!!

Anyway - weighed again this morning (I know I shouldn't!) and am down to 102.2kg!!!

Day 1 went well - had chicken and salad for dinner and drank about 6 large glasses of water through the day.

B'fast this morning was ham with peppery boursin cheese - twas yummy. Have had 2 normal cups of tea and am off to start my water drinking.

Hope you are feeling better Sally. At least throwing up means you will lose weight!!

OrmIrian · 25/04/2007 12:58

Yesterday I had grilled bacon and mushrooms fro breakfast, green salad with feta, olives and boiled ham for lunch, mustard pork chops with more salad for dinner. A few cups of coffee with a touch of cream and some tea with a drop of milk. About 3 litres of water. Snacks were some very small bits of cheshire cheese.

brimfull · 25/04/2007 17:33

ormirian-wow 3 litres of water,I bow to your superior water drinking capabilities.

Buda-well done on your loss.

Have been pretty good for the last few days ,but still need my G&T in the evening-enjoying it now actually
Have gone from 13st 2 to 12st 13 which is probably mostly water as have been off the diet for a few days. But still I'm liking the numbers going down the way.
Am planning a trip to see my family in Canada june 16th,so maybe 10lbs down by then!!!????
Ever hopeful!

HI All - and how are we doing today then?

Hope you're feeling better Sally.

Went out last night to a friend's house for a girls' night and she cooked dinner - had already cooked when I menitoned I was on Atkins but it was fish pie which was fine as I didn't have the potato and a spinach salad. She had also done Atkins friendly nibbles which was lovely and then when everyone else was eating strawberries and pineapple, she made me up a lovely cheese plate. And I drove so couldn't drink - very proud of myself!

Today I have had smoked salmon and cream cheese for my (late) breakfast. Planning prosciutto, mozzarella, tomatoes and rocket for lunch. Beef stroganoff and spinach salad for dinner. And lots of water.

Have to go and meet our old landlord today though and he is a total sod so that may drive me to drink later!

Oh dear - tricky one. I would be tempted to just do the low-fat one with family - makes it easier for you cooking and for them if you don't have fatty stuff around to tempt them.

Will your DH not do low carb with you? Mine loves it. Then you could just do healthy for the children.

Weighed in this morning and have lost 2.2 kilos!!!!!!!!!

Feeling great too!

Oh dear! Ritz crackers - yum!

Weighed again today (I know i know!!!) and have lost 2.6 kilos in total which is 5.5 lbs! Yay!

Did have 3 bacardis last night with diet coke. My drink of choice while on Atkins.

DH cooked a yummy beef stroganoff (the one we were supposed to have on Thursday but it turned out he was out that night and had forgotten to tell me - I had ham and cheese instead!).

Am off to supermarket to stock up for weekend - holiday here on Mon and Tues.

Is it just us here Sally do you think?

OrmIrian · 28/04/2007 10:25

I'm being so good food-wise that I'm sure you can see my halo from here..... >>

Sadly I drank half a bottle of white wine last night. . Ah well...

Tight jeans looser this morning but that might be down to end of TOM. Does anyone know where you should measure your hips? Sounds daft I know but is it over your hip bones or further down?

OrmIrian · 28/04/2007 10:26

Well done budababe!

Sally - I have a feeling that a strict lc diet can be helpful with heart probs but I guess it might be scary to feed bacon and eggs to someone with a heart problem . So sorry about your DH feeling bad.
