weighed myself this morning and i'm exactly 70kg. my pre-pregnancy weight was 67kg but i wanna be 62..... so here goes!

Spod · 14/07/2004 10:28

i think we should be allowed a weight allowance for big boobs!

Fennel · 14/07/2004 10:53

would love to join this thread but for me the fastest weight loss approach is to stop bf.

and now we have to bf for ever (see other thread).

Fennel · 14/07/2004 10:56

I guess I could join just to make the rest of you feel better. Since having dd3 12 weeks ago, fully bf, I have put on about 3lb. I need to lose 2 stone to get back to healthy pre-preg weight.

Yorkiegirl - know what you mean about the 'choice' (ha ha) of clothes you have when you are bigger. I'll never be exposing my belly in public but wouldn't mind wearing things that aren't black and tent-like and feel comfy and vaguely fashionable.

Skara - glad to see you here (not that I mean I'm glad you are trying to lose weight - oh you know what I mean! )

I have also put on a few pounds since giving birth . I'm gonna punch the next person who tells me bfing is good for weight loss.

Saw a picture of Gywneth Paltrow in a bikini today. She had a big baby so can someone please explain why she hasn't got a jelly belly and stretchmarks - plastic surgery??

Bozza · 14/07/2004 21:16

Airbrushing?

Right I'm 10 stone 8 and before I got pregnant was 8 stone 12 which means I've got 8 + 14 + 2 = 24 pounds to lose. Think I will have a treat at 9 1/2 stone and another at target. Got to decide what it will be now.

Gomez · 14/07/2004 22:01

Another tubby, rotund body from the June thread. DD not 6 weeks yet but thought if I posted my intentions to commence on Monday 26th July I might actually do it.

So can I join in too please? And start with a 2 stone target?

I have lost all preggo weight (joys of a 10lb 10oz baby) so need to continue and start on the long-term podge.

Skara · 14/07/2004 23:00

hi MG, don't worry I knew what you meant . As for Gwyneth, well, she was a twiglet before so I'm not surprised she's snapped back into place - I know another super slim woman with a flat stomach who had a 9lb+ baby (not me I add sadly). Gomez, whenever I read the words 10lb 10oz I get all faint .

When are we starting? Only I had a bit of an accident with a whole large bar of choc again today and I have a friend coming to lunch tomorrow to try out our new breadmaker so might need to make it Monday - are we having a designated weigh in day?
Twiglett I am sooo glad to hear I'm not alone in eating my not inconsiderable weight in choc and biscuits each day - oink

Kif · 15/07/2004 10:19

Can Kif join in. shuffle forward.

I'm mixed feeding, but in the dark days of trying to establish exclusive bf fell for the 'you must eat properly, and take lots of rest'. Hence a late-Elvis like post-partum month of three course dinners while not walking further than loo ... hence up on immediate post delivery weight. I've about 15kg to lose - about 40lb? Does that sound right? about 3 stone.

Glad other people share my irrational hatred of Gwynnie. Macrobiotic diet, my rse - pragnant people are obliged* to eat ice cream.

twiglett can I please join as well. I may have lost all my baby weight immediately, but my pre-baby weight was not what I wanted it to be, and after the first few days I've only managed to lose another 3lbs.
So I'm currently 10 10lbs, and want to be 9 1/2 which means I need to lose 17lbs.
I can so identify with the "I need it I'm feeding" thought - that justified 3 choc biscuits, a banoffee cream danish and a chocolate muffin yesterday, and 2 glasses of wine in the evening (although that was more "I need it, I have a toddler"

What sort of dieting is everyone planning to do out of interest ?? I've never done a slimming world or WW thing before. Do they work? How does it work ?

LOL Twiglett - I can definately relate to the 'I need it, I'm breastfeeding' mantra! i think it was a natural progression from the 'I need it - I'm pregnant' days.

How is it that some mums go back to their original size in 3 months after childbrith heh?

Skara · 15/07/2004 16:01

quite like lactating losers - oh and am I alone in instantly thinking 'must eat everything NOW'?

Of course I know that's not the way to think, but ho hum...am off to look at posh double buggies so I can take the two smaller ones out for a hearty country walks. How virtuous I am.

Fennel · 15/07/2004 16:02

since joining this thread yesterday I have weighed myself again and have put on a whole 7lb since having dd3. Does that make me the biggest lactating loser so far? so make that 2 stone 4lb for me to lose.

am wondering if there are appetite suppressants available for bf women?

prufrock · 15/07/2004 16:38

I'm not planning to do proper "dieting", just eating healthily and cutting out the junk and wine.

Fennel - the best appetite suppressant I've found is water (sometimes add a 1/4 glass of peach or pineapple juice) It's good for you and really does stave off hunger pangs.

scrumpy · 15/07/2004 19:41

ready for weigh in on Monday it will have to be after I get back from work....tried to use work computer to read mumsnet yesterday and it was blocked some tripe about content being offensive...load of b*. Lowryn · 15/07/2004 20:10

Hi, can I join too. I have a DS of 11 weeks and although I lost 2 stone in two weeks (giving birth and all the other gubbins) I have ground to a weight loss halt...TBH I am probably putting some back on already. I have a good 28lbs to lose and need some tips on sewing my mouth shut.
CANT STOP EATING!
DH tells me that I am comfort eating and keeps finding all my hidden stashes, but some of it must be hormonal???
Must do something about my eating disorder...Do you think it is genetic...I found DD (2.5yrs) eating an apple pie under the table.

scrumpy · 15/07/2004 20:14

hi lowryn...the more the merrier I should think i dont know about it being genetic though lol when reading about apple pie..my ds at the moment eats like a bird and is barely drinking unlike his mum

Kif · 15/07/2004 22:32

There's always plain popcorn... occupies your mouth and alegedly takes more calories to chew than it gives you!
