Ok is everybody gearing themselves for the big weigh in tomorrow? What do we post, if anything or do we just post and weight loss (or not!) next Monday?

I went shopping today and bought a huge bar of chocolate and some biscuits to sign off with tonight but I was good and didn't buy any otherr 'bad' things (alcohol doesn't count, right .

I'll also be reopening by little red diet book where I note down my weight every week, vital statistics every month and notes about things that might have thrown me off track etc - this really helped me last time to see it all written down and to show I was progressing, even if was really slowly. Ooh, do I sound really sad now?

Is everyone ready for 2morrow? Have had the last supper, dh joining me on diet as he is concerned he has man paps.....dont ask I am sure his could not do the job mine have been doing? Good Luck everyone 2morow.

Bozza · 18/07/2004 21:26

That sounds like a good idea monkeygirl - which vital statistics do you take? I'm not sure everyone wants to post their initial weight although some are quite happy to. Anyone who doesn't could perhaps post how many pounds they want to loose.

monkeygirl · 18/07/2004 21:45

Bozza - I take bust, waist, hips and thighs, maybe tops of arms, haven't decided yet. If all goes well it's encouraging to see the flab is actually decreasing.

I've really no idea what weight I'm aiming for, just want to feel healthy and ok with how I look.I've got a helluva lot to lose so I will first aim to lose 42 pounds (3 stone).

Now where are those biscuits....

scrumpy · 18/07/2004 21:52

the smell of bacon is wafting from the kitchen dh has been to football and is famished....he is trying to entice me with the smell....oh well in for a penny in for a pound..yum yum

Hi all
sorry to butt in here, but I'm just too tempted by seeing twiglett's name in this thread!
twiglett, I started Weight Watchers after dd2's birth when she was 6 weeks old. She's now exactly 11 months, I have lost 36 pounds so far. On WW I have been able to eat LOADS because I'm breastfeeding, and you would never think I'm on a diet seeing the amounts I eat! Aim to lose another stone and a half now... knowing that I'll still be able to eat lots and lots as I'm still breastfeeding... on demand too.... so isn't that a tempting thought with regards to the pros and cons of longterm b/feeding?
Good luck to everybody here!

Kif · 19/07/2004 00:03

Me first! Me first!

182 pounds wearing night dress and specs (former not to scare neighbours, latter so I could see numbers).

monkeygirl · 19/07/2004 00:34

Yorkiegirl, I'm in a similar position. I have many stone to lose and have been overweight and a yo-yo dieter since my teens, but not as fat as I have been since having dd1 3 years ago. Yeah, let's do it together!

The thing that has worked for me (well sort of) is not following any plans as such, cos I'm too lazy to count points/write down what I have eaten, so I will try the cutting out of sweets/crisps/high fat foods but allow myself occasional treats (I've got to be realistic about what I can do for months on end). And I need to try and get back into walking everywhere (if only I can get away with ditching the bloody buggy board).

Better go off and have some more chocolate then.

Skara · 19/07/2004 00:52

hi all, please can I join? Have followed Monkeygirl over from the June thread with a guilty face and chocolate stained fingers . J is now 6 weeks and I have another 2 stone to lose to get to pre-preg weight (gained 4 - oops - over the pregnancy) and another 2 after that would take me down to superslim bikini wearing (hahahahaha, sorry fantasising) level! Just watched you are what you eat and right now I am a large bar of fruit and nut chocolate. Off to investigate weightwatchers online, having never had much success with slimming world - when I tried it I gained weight ...

Bozza · 19/07/2004 00:57

DS and DD are fine yorkiegirl although DD has been a bit out of sorts today after first injections - hope your two DDs are too.

It sounds like you are all doing a diet plan (weightwatchers, slimming world). I haven't quite decided to do that yet. Skara I put on 4 stone in pregnancy as well. Everyone keeps saying to me that its no problem because I lost it all last time.... Yeah it took loads of effort and 18 months.

OH ALRIGHT THEN .... IF I MUST!!! (Sorry, didn't mean to shout ...) Can I join you?
I was on Demented's weightloss thread but kept forgetting to post and to diet

DD is 5.5 months old ... breastfed so a breastfeeding support group might make me get my arse into gear ...
The weight has been creeping off really really slowly ... Started dieting at 6 weeks post partum (WW b/f program) but not very seriously. Was 11st 8lbs ... am now 10st 10lbs and want to be AT LEAST 9st 7oz.
Have been hovering on 10.10 for weeks and weeks now ... grrrrrrr
Can't do Slimming world (don't know if they do it here in NZ ...) Can do WW (am lifetime member) but can't make it to classes.
Desperately need some motivation and support ... am determined to be svelte and gorgeous in April when I come back to the UK for my sister's wedding !!!

So ... room for me?
Cheers ...
G xx

PS ... weighed 10.10 this morning ... had two pieces of toast, no butter, with WW jam for brekkie and then had treat sized crunchie bar and a Freddo Frog for morning tea ... bugger ...

Spod · 19/07/2004 02:14

okay... i'll start then... is i ever get time to read the slimming world thingy... am prepared to post weight loss on a weekly basis.... if any occurs! but i need promting... i'm useless
