So I think I'm starting to look too skinny, what do you think?

How on earth is your BMI 25 at a size 6??

RiseandGrind · 30/04/2017 19:23

5' 3"
Size 6
BMI of 25

OK, one of those is incorrect.

By the way, i think you look slim but not skinny.

northerny · 30/04/2017 20:45

now he sees me as some sort of trophy wife ....

Hmm
charimito · 30/04/2017 20:54

Well I'm a size 6 in Gap, Primark and New Look (the jeans I'm wearing are Gap size 6). It hard to find size 6 but my size 8 MS are a bit loose, so I'd guess I would be a size 6 there as well. My scale has always been consistent, so I don't think the weight is wrong. If anything is my muscle / lean mass which I think is kind of high.

I think you look mighty fine, I don't think you're too skinny, you just look lovely and slim.Well done on your weight loss.

Heatherbell1978 · 30/04/2017 21:02

A Gap size 6 is a UK 10....they do their sizing in American sizing. I'm 5'4 with a BMI of 22 and a size 10 (occasionally an 8) do I'm confused as to how you can be a UK 6!! I've been very skinny (earring disorder when younger) so I know what 'skinny' really is and you're not. You look like an average slim woman.

Mermaidinthesea123 · 30/04/2017 21:04

You look amazing, I'd just stay as you are.

charimito · 30/04/2017 21:11

@heatherbell being from the other side of the pond I'm very used to US vs UK sizes. My jeans are an American size 2 which is a UK size 6, a petite size 6 BTW.

Rise - not necessarily. I'm 5'2". I wear size 8 clothes, (gap jeans size 4) some of them are a bit loose, so presumably, in some shops could wear a size 6, and I've only just come out of the overweight catagory! I am now at the top end of normal with a BMI of 24.2.

I don't look anything like as slim as opEnvy. Op I think you look fine. Not too skinny, but don't need to lose anymore either.

@ernest thank you! I know we're not that common, but it is definitely possible to be just within the "healthy" BMI and be a very small size

toffeeboffin · 30/04/2017 21:23

Carole Midgeley? Richard and Judy's daughter? HmmHmm

charimito · 30/04/2017 21:25

@mrsskeng not at all! If just seems that the opinions of those close to me are very divided and the way I perceive myself doesn't really help. I've been overweight my whole life do I have no idea what a healthy me should look like

multivac · 30/04/2017 21:30

Stop thinking about whether you look 'too skinny' or like a 'trophy wife', and ask yourself, 'what is it taking to maintain this figure, for me?'

If it's undereating and/or overexercising, then you may need to think about whether it's worth it. I do both to maintain my current weight. It's not healthy.

If you are eating sensibly, and not overdoing it at the gym/pounding pavements, then what's the problem?

charimito · 30/04/2017 21:35

Well I definitely think I could eat more as I love working out and how exercise in general has changed so my life so I won't decrease that. I have an appointment with my GP next Friday, I'm hoping he'll refer me to a dietitian /nutritionist

charimito · 30/04/2017 21:37

It took me 6 months to lose 3st with a mix of exercise and diet. As far as I know this is not extreme by any stretch of the imagination

Ah well then, take comfort in the fact that nobody on here thinks you look "too skinny" like you were worried about. But it would be better to base your decision on how you feel about and in yourself.

RJnomore1 · 30/04/2017 21:41

I think you look good, you look like you have good muscle tone from what I can see. Slim and strong not skinny.

Aducknotallama · 30/04/2017 21:44

You look normal to me, not skinny at all. I guess you could lose another half a stone without being skinny but look good as you are.

Tw1nsetAndPearls · 30/04/2017 21:45

You look lovely OP and quite well toned. Well done on the weight loss . If I looked as good as you I would be chuffed with myself and stating a selfie thread every day. Thankfully I am fat Smile

Tw1nsetAndPearls · 30/04/2017 21:46

To answer your question - I don't think you need to lose anymore weight but it is not the most clear of pictures
