Hello Gold and Rioja :)
I'm very new to this too and think it's such a simple, doable lifestyle change rather than a short term diet. I found my first week really quite easy but yesterday and today I've been so hungry. Definite words of wisdom on upping the meal sizes. I've spent so long trying to eat smaller, healthier meals whilst merrily grazing throughout the day. I need to get better at choosing the right meals so that I'm not starving inbetween. One great thing is my sweet cravings have gone very quickly which is brilliant as I'm a definite sweet tooth.

Beela you're so right, I don't think I ever went long enough without eating to actually feel properly hungry!

AristonAndOn · 18/04/2017 17:23

Beela,I have sadly failed in my mission to get back on track today, I started well and my binge eating reared its ugly head again. Sigh, sob. Tomorrow I must get back on it.

Teddy6767 · 18/04/2017 17:28

Hi everyone. I started this diet yesterday and I'm enjoying it so far. Seems like it will be a really manageable way to lose weight and keep it off. I have about 3 stone to lose to get me back down to a size 10. I had to give my boyfriend all my easter chocolate that family bought me as I knew I wouldn't be able to control myself if it was in my house.
I need to stay strong and do this as I'm desperate to feel fit and healthy, and also feel great about my body over the summer months. Sick of having to hide myself away in baggy clothes all the time

pitterpatterrain · 18/04/2017 17:50

Bowbear that was me - picking a salad for lunch, then munching my way through loads of stuff as I was hungry, plus helpings of ice cream for afters (practically every day)

beela · 18/04/2017 17:51

Ariston Sad I'm sorry you are finding it hard. I know you can do it though.

Hello new people

riojaandcorrie · 18/04/2017 17:58

Right, that's it, I will start tomorrow. I'll weigh myself tonight. Better eat the other half of my Easter Egg tonight 🙄. You are all so positive, it is very encouraging. I'm off work till Monday so it shouldn't be too bad. Any words of wisdom for a newbie would be appreciated.

twofloorsup · 18/04/2017 19:10

I'd say read back through this thread and the one previously.
Also spend some time on the No S forum and website.
It helps to know what you're doing before you start.
And definitely eat enough at each meal to keep you going til the next one. I found that when I left food til really late I could get away with eating less as I was going to bed shortly !
And keep posting ! There's fab support on here.

riojaandcorrie · 18/04/2017 19:42

Thanks twofloors will do.

AristonAndOn · 18/04/2017 20:43

Schools back on tomorrow and I find routine helps a lot.

Dons1975 · 19/04/2017 08:04

Hi can i join? I've been doing sw for years successfully and not so successful! I can lose it easy but also put it back on easy. I'm also fed up with it to be honest. There is only so many muller lights you can eat lol!

I'm going to download the book later and try and get through it but my understanding is its just 3 meals a day with no snacking in between? So for breakfast today im having porridge along with yoghurt and fruit is that ok or would it be classed as a second? Would soup and a sandwich be ok as a lunch/dinner.

Sorry I just need to get my head around a new way of eating.

pitterpatterrain · 19/04/2017 08:33

Dons i'm sure others will chip in, for me I figure as long as I can squash it all onto a plate it is fine, as long as planned in advance vs adding more after I have started eating like the fruit etc

Happy today as my weekly weigh-in day and another small loss

twofloorsup · 19/04/2017 09:04

Welcome Dons and yes as Pitter says as long as you can fit it on the one plate without stacking it up you're good to go !
Well done Pitter Smile

Dons1975 · 19/04/2017 10:23

thanks - ended up with just porridge and fruit for breakfast. I normally have yoghurt and fruit (or cake, biscuits) about now as its tea time at work but i've resisted. Ive also ignored the five emails so far today saying where the cake and treats are in the office!

pitterpatterrain · 19/04/2017 11:52

Well done dons! Good avoiding - it can be so hard
I avoided the chocolate eggs at the playgroup this morning and just stuck to coffee, need to get used to being hungry before meals again

pitterpatterrain · 19/04/2017 11:52

(Not too hungry but just nicely "hmm I couldn't eat now")

pitterpatterrain · 19/04/2017 11:53

*could
Oops

twofloorsup · 19/04/2017 12:49

I think that was the hardest adjustment for me.
I barely knew what hunger was before because I was always eating !

beela · 19/04/2017 14:16

So today.... my mum noticed that I have lost weight! I must be getting somewhere Grin

My exercise regime is going ok, I've done 2 days of shred and now my legs have seized up so I'm hobbling round like an old lady! I'm having a day off shredding today but will be going swimming this evening. Back on it tomorrow.

Still ignoring the easter chocolate (we've got so much!). I saw a recipe in a magazine to use up leftover easter eggs, which basically involved adding loads more ingredients and making a rocky road type thing. Not sure how that's meant to be helpful cos then you've just got loads of rocky road to eat??

twofloorsup · 19/04/2017 16:13

Haha Beela I discovered rocky road using up chocolate santas years ago. I just make it for my dad as its his favourite so I don't get tempted.
I've swam today and Monday and had a quick go at the gym yesterday but I still feel so out of place there so I'm going to just keep at it til it feels normal if that makes sense Smile

chalkyc2 · 19/04/2017 17:33

Hi - I wonder whether I could join you? I decided 2 weeks ago that I needed to stop eating sugar and puddings and then I discovered the no s way of eating. I need to lose 7 stone (SOB!!). I'm feeling a bit down as I literally have not eaten any sweet stuff over Easter and just 3 meals a day and I have not lost ANYTHING!!! It's completely demoralising....but going through the sugar withdrawal of about 3/4 days is not something I want to repeat!

Anyway - I'm going to keep going and follow this thread. But I need to see some results soon!

Riversleep · 19/04/2017 17:35

Hi all! Idid OK yesterday overall, although inexplicably had seconds, when I never have seconds, so the one 's' that I never ever do, so thought it would be easy, I managed to do, whilst not snacking or eating sugar! Didnt help that it was my favourite mid week meal- Chilli and rice with all the additions Grin and not even cooked by me! Maybe it was the portion size, so Ill put everything on the plate at once today.

today I had plain greek yoghurt and banana for breakfast, a ham sandwich and soup for lunch and am about to have dinner. No snacking in between, no sweet stuff which was great! I didnt even think about it! I drank loads of water too .

I might make rocky road with leftover easter eggs. I was going to do cornflake cakes which I like, but Im not that keen on rocky road.

twofloorsup · 19/04/2017 18:10

Hi chalky and river.
Chalky this definitely isn't a quick fix you have to stick at it but it's worth it.

beela · 19/04/2017 18:27

I love rocky road Sad

riojaandcorrie · 19/04/2017 20:13

Good going girls (assuming). Chalky I sometimes find it takes my body a while to "catch up", hopefully next week it'll kick in and you'll have lost some. It is so demoralising when you really try (no Easter chocolate) and the scales don't budge. Keep up the good work.

chalkyc2 · 20/04/2017 09:06

Thanks - it had better kick in soon. Not so much as a cream egg over Easter or any of my mother in laws Easter baking!! I find the evenings hard as we tend to eat quite late - consequence of work/getting the kids to bed etc. That's my danger time for snacking, and lunch is usually on the run during working day.
