How much do you reckon i can lose in 5 months by................................................

  1. calorie counting
  2. exercising on cross trainer 4 times a week
  3. Davina dvd twice a week
  4. walks as often as possible

???

realistically how much could i lose? I am 5 ft 6" and weigh 11 stone. Ideally i want to get to 9 stone 9lbs but would settle for 10 stone by the summer. Is this achievable?

I am really struggling to even get started atm.

probably a stone, I reckon... maybe more . how long will you X-train for when you do it?

about 30-40 mins on the cross trainer. Building up to 50 mins.

but aren't you within the healthy bmi? how is your waist 37"??

i am JUST over the healthy BMI range (am 25.3 or something) - i dont look obese BUT i DO have a 37" waist? Is that bad?

yes, it's not good to carry fat around tummy (apple shape). can't remember what the healthy max is for a woman - 32 maybe.

You could easily lose 2st in 5mths if you really want to...that's not even 2lbs a week...good luck!

no, it's just a guideline, like BMI is. just start your plan and bet you'll be under the healthy measurement within 6 weeks.

thanks guys - any tips on even how to get started though? I have tried SW but cant keep with it just just thought eating healthily would be ok?

Hi

Im in EXACTLY the same boat

5ft 6 and 11 stone and want to lose weight.

For the last 6 weeks I have been to the gym 3 times a week with Davina DVD in between and calorie counted.

Weight has stayed the same but I am toning up and changing shape.

Im sick of not losing weight so started following SW yesterday.

Do you fancy being 5ft6 11stone but want to be 9lb9 buddies?

i kind of like SW and i like having something to follow IYSWIM but i just cannot find any meals that i can make on it! I get frustrated and bored. Do you go to a class?

I guess all people are different, I find if I cut out carbs apart from at breakfast time the weight comes off quite quickly!

yes, clas but you can do it online too - so easy as you can eat whatever you like, so long as you count Points. I was in the middle of my BMI and am now at bottom, so thought it'd take ages to lose but it fell off!

shit, just did whole day's food diary and lost it!

today:

grapefruit, scone with jam, coffee

2 apples

homemade pizza thing with salad
yogurt (Muller)

Taste The Difference choc cookie, tea

rice and veg thing I made
one pancake with lemon and sugar (oops!)
2 satsumas

and will prob a hot choc and some fruit or a yogurt later if hungry
