How much do you reckon i can lose in 5 months by................................................

  1. calorie counting
  2. exercising on cross trainer 4 times a week
  3. Davina dvd twice a week
  4. walks as often as possible

???

realistically how much could i lose? I am 5 ft 6" and weigh 11 stone. Ideally i want to get to 9 stone 9lbs but would settle for 10 stone by the summer. Is this achievable?

I am really struggling to even get started atm.

you can eat a surprising amount and lose weight. the main thing that helped me was giving up alcohol.

I'm doing the "don't eat it unless you cooked it" diet. Okay if you are pastry chef it probably won't work, but given a choice between making some biscuits and grabbing an apple and a banana - well the fruit wins.

I divide my plate in half and fill with salad or veggies, then divide what's left and put rice or a small potato on one side and lean protein on the other side.

However at the moment I appear to be doing the "get a D&V bug off a pupil and purge yourself down a stone diet".

Going right back down the thread, no, I dont go to class. I have done before so Ive got all of the bumph so just follow it from home. Im having a weigh in with my sister every sunday.

Have stuck to it properly for 3 days now - looking forward for first week out of the way to see if it is going to force those scales to budge a bit!

I will be doing the Davina workout DVD today - no time for gym with half term!

Hi mandymoo,
If you stay focused, you'll definitely lose a stone and, as suggested already, following SW or WW by going to a class may help keep you on track.
I would like to lose the extra 7-10lbs that I have been carrying since ds2 so I have decided to join WW this week (I love my food and wine so I reckon I need the discipline of a class!).
Try to remember to drink loads of water as well, definitely helps to shift the lbs faster.

Mandymoo, I decidede I would only drink if I have a night out, basically stop drinking in the house, sitting on the sofa, watching TV. It has really worked for me, have lost stubborn weight, skin lovely, MUCH less tired etc. Now I just have a hot choc and biscuit at 9pm instead. That said, have huge weekend planned away in Brighton soon and I WILL be drinking then!
