I'm not officially starting til January 9th, that's when the kids go back to school and I'll go to my first SW meeting
Also contacted a personal trainer, I have ME so any big exercise is 1 step forward and 15 steps back but I've read about very slowly building it up and pacing yourself and tbh want some advice and motivation with that, she's on holiday til January 3rd though so won't hear back from her til after that

Hi, can I join you all. I plan to start on the 1st and aim for 52lbs in 52 weeks which will barely take me out of the obese category but at least its a start. I am planning to eat low carb as I am Gluten free anyway and find that way of eating suits me quite well. I also have CFS/fibromyalgia and find exercise fairly difficult. I do have a dog that I walk every morning but not very far and I swim twice a week. I won a Fitbit in a competition last week. It hasn't arrived yet but hopefully that will inspire me.

Grin xmasspirit, I thought you were salivating over the mention of wine, cheese and chocs.

I signed up to the 1000 mile challenge with Country Walking magazine via Facebook.
They motivate you to walk and hour a day, so by the end of the year you have done 1000 miles.

My goal that I visualise, is standing at the summit of Mount Snowdon, looking and feeling strong and healthy.

Sorry pressed post too soon, I've got lupus and other things and been quite poorly with that, my mobility has been non existent.
My ds goes to school mornings and in going to walk both the school runs instead of sometimes getting a taxi for the way . We will do this!

Thank you opening,
I think I've been using my poor health and medication as an excuse to be lazy & over eat as much as I hate to admit that!

DesperatelySeeking2016 · 28/12/2016 23:31

random I think that is a brilliant goal. I have so few pictures of me with the children because I hate how I look.
I have just got back from a party that was lots of fun but I had the same top on as the host - she is a size 8 and looked amazing, I am a large size 14 and kept my cardigan on Sad. I know that no one cares how I look but me and most of the people I know now have never known me when I was thin but I hate being the 'fat one'. I am determined to do something about it.
icant small changes will make a huge difference if you can maintain them so maybe aim to change one thing at a time so that you don't over do it and cause your lupus to flare up. It must be really difficult managing day to day so don't be too hard on yourself.

Morning. Once I can get my lazy bum out of bed am going to weigh in.
Also is there a clever way of having a Fitbit if you aren't allowed a watch at work?

Holy shit. Just weighed myself and have moved up into another stone bracket that I have never been in before. Not even at full term with my now 4 year old. Feel absolutely discussed with myself.
Thanks herchristmas. Will look into that.

OK I've started this morning, its my birthday on 2nd Jan so I don't usually start new resolutions on the 1st as its dispiriting to only last a day! :)

My Fitbit is charging, have weighed myself (last time I was this weight was 2015) & I've planned all my meals today, trying a superfood bowl tonight that I made up with the help of Pinterest.

Will maybe try taking a photo every month or every week to see progress.

I think I've decided to do a weigh and photo just once per month, so I can see a difference cos weekly weigh ins just make me obsess really and I don't want that. I've weighed this morning (put on 2lbs over December, I'll take that) and will have my photo taken today anyway because we're visiting family so plenty of photos will happen whether I want them or not. December's photo next year will see me much slimmer!

Food is not going to be good until after the new year for me. (Finishing the last of the crap and then new years dinner) but I did go the long way to the shop this morning. Every little helps and all that. Grin

Me too, Christmas.

It's as if I'm having a last huzzah. Lesson is - buy less food next year!

I went for a walk today, noticed how jiggly and out of puff I am. It'll go, but, I'm going to finish that bottle of wine tonight. And the crisps. And, I'll enjoy it...think I'm trying to sicken myself of food entirely.

I want McDonald's. Luckily I don't drive so can't head to the drive through, and I can't drag 3 kids out in the cold so I'll have to go without Sad

It's shopping day tomorrow so I have just thrown out all the leftover Christmas food. Goodby cheeses, chutneys and chocolates! So long crackers and crisps and farewell pates and pastries!
I have made a menu for next week and I have a shopping list ready!
