Half a stone for my holiday (just under three weeks)

My weight has gone up, combination of meds and a complete love of food, plus tiredness, stress eating, plus sugar addiction. Have just under 3 weeks until my holiday and want to lose 6-7lbs. Plan is as follows:

As much exercise as I can do (already good with walking but will build on this)
Less food
Less carbs, have eaten a cereal bar this morning for breakfast as nothing else suitable around. Also not looking to spend a lot of money on food.

Plan for today is as follows:

20,000 steps
Some nuts for lunch
Lots of water and black tea
2 burgers with two potions of steamed veg for tea
Hot sugar free squash/diet drinks if I feel I need that.

I am going to post on this thread every day with my progress, dont mind if nobody wants to read it but it will keep me motivated. Will also post my weight every day, I know some people say you should't weigh every day, but for me this helps and I need to feel that I am gradually making progress.

So today.

Starting weight is 8st12 go me

I feel your pain. There will be no "making cakes in the whizarounder" as it's called in this household for the next week or so 😆

busyboysmum · 12/08/2016 07:48

72.9 kg this morning so another 1/2 kg off. Really pleased as I had a piece of toast for breakfast yesterday plus quite a bit of fruit. All left overs from my 4 year old. I hate throwing good food away. Lunch was salad smoked salmon prawns avacado and cream cheese. Tea I had a steak 2 fried eggs spinach onions and mushrooms which was delicious. Hope you all have a good day ☺

Octopus37 · 12/08/2016 07:59

Well done, you are doing great. Scales couldn't decide between 8st8 and 8st7 today. I went out with my friend last night and I did drink one pint of cider. Went for an Indian and ate Chicken Tikka with a bit of salad and a side order of spinach, which was lovely, really yum without being unhealthy. Know the weight loss is going to slow down now, but planning to reset a target of 8st3/4, dont know if thats realistic as haven't been that weight for a couple of years.

I'm 5ft5 but small boned. At my current weight I am usually a size 10, in fact I have some lovely size 12 skirts from H&M that are too tight at the moment as all the weight goes round my bum and the top of my thighs. Got my DS to take a photo of me last weekend for a job application, I will attach it I was shocked. That said under 8st too light as I loose it from my face and I'm not getting any yoinger

I'm 5ft4 and think my ideal is 8st4/5.
Currently 8st 11.5lbs but I did get down to 8st 5 before Xmas and felt really good and everything fitted well. I'm the opposite and have skinny legs and no bum but put all my weight on around my tummy and upper back 😩

busyboysmum · 13/08/2016 08:02

I've stalled this morning. 73kg. I did ease up a bit yesterday and had toast and butter for breakfast. Also added cream to my steak for tea so had a delicious pepper sauce with it. Then whipped cream and berries for after. It did say you can have cream on the low carb thread but also that cream can stall your weightloss so that's obviously what's happened. Never mind. Off to Bloodstock now so no idea what kind of a day I'll have there. Hope you all have a good day ☺

Octopus37 · 13/08/2016 08:18

3 kilos in a week is fab. I am 8st7 this morning, know mine is starting to stall, had a good day yesterday but know the next few pounds are going to be harder. Have a good day

I had a bad day yesterday oops 🙈 Not going to get any better today as there's a fry up happening in the kitchen argh ☹️

busyboysmum · 14/08/2016 07:12

72.8 kg this morning so still stalled really. I was as good as I could be at the festival yesterday. Nothing to do but carry on. I'm feeling slimmer and good about myself and only 6 days till we fly. I'm carrying on with the low carbing and my mum thinks we should try It on holiday as well. Hope you are doing well ☺

LittleBee23 · 14/08/2016 08:39

Your body might be panic stockpiling now as you've been low calorie and carbs. Don't worry though - I don't think it lasts long.

I've been pretty bad this weekend but not awful. Been filling up on salad which has been delicious and just having a smaller portion of main meal.

Taking little one to cinema later then my mum's for dinner so will be hard to stay totally on track but going to do my meal plan for the week today and get prepped to make sure I'm sticking to it well 👍🏻

Octopus37 · 14/08/2016 10:12

Another stalker here, have been the same weight for a few days. Was good yesterday, but feeling tired, hungry, irritable etc. Really hoping I can keep this up for 13 more days. Know it's mind over matter

Even crosser now, weighed again in Boots and the two pounds heavier thing still applied. Disappointed and hungry

Flowers OP

Don't dwell on it and stick with it. Weight varies due to a huge number of factors that have nothing to do with the amount of fat in your body, which is the thing that you are actually trying to reduce.

Have a look at the posts I put on this thread, and the link for a full explanation.

Octopus37 · 14/08/2016 11:38

Thank you, I am going to stick with it and look at your link. Onwards and downwards.

Happy Monday everyone. feeling positive again today. Definitely 8st7 on my scales this morning. I have decided to set myself a gentler goal of 2 more pounds for my holiday (12 days to go) now that it has slowed down, anything more will be a bonus.

OP posts:
busyboysmum · 15/08/2016 08:04

Hi good morning yes I'm feeling good too although my weight loss has slowed down as well 72.7 kilograms this morning on the scales so looking at it in the terms that I was 76 kilograms this time last week that's still an amazing achievement. I am only five days away now as we fly on Friday so anything further that I lose will be a bonus. And definitely feeling slimmer and less water retention so everything's looking smoother. Hope everybody has a good day ☺

busyboysmum · 16/08/2016 07:33

Disappointed this morning. Still 73kg 😯 not sure how to break through this.

Octopus37 · 16/08/2016 08:19

I'm the same, still 8st7, really hoping this isn't it, bu trying to tell myself that a 5 pound loss is still good. I'm at the point where I'm telling myself that any other loss is a bonus, cause otherwise I will end up throwing the towel in and eating red velvet cake or something. You have lost 3 kilos which is fantastic.

OP posts:
busyboysmum · 16/08/2016 08:26

Thanks same to you. Demoralizing isn't it? But everything looks a lot better and slimmer so just focusing on that. I've had toast and butter for breakfast though 😕

Athrawes · 16/08/2016 08:28

Soup is the way forward. Veggie soup with lentils and a bit of spice. Feels like a meal. And as much salad as you can stand. Both supply lots of fluids so you won't be lulled into weight loss by dehydration.

I thought low carb was supposed to be a healthy way of eating? That's why I was doing it. I never stick to anything usually so was impressed about how delicious the meals were. I've just had a huge bowl of raspberries blackberries with creme freche. Gorgous. Lunch will be salad with avacado prawns smoked salmon and cream cheese. That's ok isn't it? Pretty balanced. Not sure how it is disordered eating? I've been having a steak or an omlette for my tea with mushrooms onions again with a mixed salad. It's sticking fully to the low carb woe but wouldn't call it starving myself ☺

FrameyMcFrame · 16/08/2016 13:08

Dearie me, why are you trying to loose half a stone when your bmi is already that low? It's sad that women feel they have to fit in to a preconceived notion of what is acceptable body shape.

busyboysmum · 16/08/2016 13:47

Lol Smile my bmi isn't that low. I just wanted to fit back into my actual summer clothes comfortably so I didn't have to buy new ones. No shame in that. Anyway this isn't aibu it's a support thread for each other so leave us alone.
