I've started and followed these types of threads several times over the last few years with no such luck! I think that my problem in the past has been that I want fast results and really that's not necessarily going to happen. I'm giving myself 8 weeks. 8 weeks to see what results I can get. The amount of times I start a 'diet' and give up after a few days or a week. Whereas if I stick to it for 8 weeks, perhaps I may actually start to see some results. I'm not doing any fad diet. Just going to eat healthier, smaller portions (i tend to over eat!) and less sugary treats (and crisps!)
I'm not going to totally limit myself because that's when I fail. This week I will aim for 3 runs or 2 runs and a swim. I am working less this week but on the days I work I will take the train instead of being stuck in traffic, this will involve 35 mins of walking too. Will be keeping on top of putting bottles of water in the fridge. I'm also going to try and do a few stomach exercises each day, even if it's while I'm watching TV. It takes no time at all really.
Does anybody want to join in? I'm starting tomorrow? We can give support through the week and weigh in every Sunday ?
I also think now is a good time because I've got no holidays or anything booked so I will simply be doing this for me, and not worrying about not being 'bikini ready'

I originally posted this in chat but got no responses but someone recommended this section which I didn't know about! I'm going to weigh myself shortly. I've written out the dates for the next 8 Sundays in a book and will be weighing myself each sunday.

I made the vilest dinner ever tonight- slow cooked balsamic lamb shank. It was so bad we threw it away (never going to live it down with the kids!). Everyone else had massive bowls of cereal. I had strawberries and yoghurt. #smug less so about the cereal!

yoowhoo · 11/08/2016 12:32

Oh no! I do find the slow cooker hit and miss. 9 time out of 10 it's delicious then you will get a random dish that just doesn't taste good!
so it's TOTM today and my stomach is in agony. So didn't do a run this morning. Am at work now but will do a few light stomach exercises when I'm home this eve. I didn't fancy breakfast but had a yoghurt biscuit thing with a cuppa around 10. Just had leftovers for lunch and I haven't Brought any snacks to work so no chance of snacking. How's everyone's days going ?

Please may I join? I've been up and down between 13 and 16 stones for nearly 4 years now and always get stuck at this point (I am 13.4 at the mo). Will be really helpful to get some support and motivation without having to shell out for a slimming group - thanks!

DakotaFanny · 11/08/2016 14:49

I'm hungry....

yoowhoo · 11/08/2016 16:34

Yes welcome welcome :)

So I failed on the snack front... I just got peckish. I was about to buy chocolate from tesco and then say they had a pot of pomegranate, melon, kiwi grapes and strawberry reduced to £1. So I ate that instead. Quite proud of myself. I won't be eating til later tonight so actually it was needed!

Im in too ( please) ?

Going on holiday and want to regain some confidence. 178lbs and aim to lose 16lbs in the eight weeks.

Phew. Did I say that outloud?

goodenoughmum88 · 14/08/2016 11:40

Morning!!! This morning's weigh was 11.9.6 so 2lbs off this week! More by luck/breastfeeding and walking with the sling than anything I think - did manage two runs aswell, hoping to run this eve and plenty of walking today. So I'll take that. X

Diamondsandpurls · 15/08/2016 12:42

Well done 88, I have not weighed in because I have failed miserably this weekend what with socialising and all so am not going to be disheartened but start again today for next weekend.

goodenoughmum88 · 15/08/2016 13:06

Thanks diamonds. Always good to make a fresh start and I need to now as have been rubbish for 24 hours! Just had a word with myself for eating leftover fishmongers grrrrrr flipping self sabotage! Onwards and upwards (or down in weight I hope!!!) x

goodenoughmum88 · 15/08/2016 18:09

Fish fingers. I have not eaten any poor unsuspecting fishmongers!

tmhun · 15/08/2016 18:53

Made a real start today by eating healthily, fruit, yoghurt, nuts, switched out my milky coffee for a soya latte plus had a small pack of salmon sushi. Planning on going for a brisk walk when i get home from work. But to be honest Im so late getting home usually that i wont have the willpower to head out.

Anxiouslady · 15/08/2016 19:17

Please can I join? I am at my heaviest ever since having children. Just got back from weekend away and can't bear to look at the photos! Need a kick start and some moral support!!

goodenoughmum88 · 17/08/2016 18:32

Nice one tmhun. Welcome anxiouslady.
Been pretty good up to today and off for a run once the kids are in bed but I'm hungry! Have eaten enough I think! May need extra yogurt and fruit this eve post run as I can't sleep if hungry. Also the next two days are usually when I start to slip as I get tired towards the end of the week and crave sugar.
Planning to make overnight oats so I have a yummy breakfast to fill me up and put some extra healthy carbs in do I feel fuller. Then there's the weekend and my biggest indulgence, a couple of glasses of wine! We don't drink during the week but do fri/sat/sun and I'm aware they are calories I don't need (but love). Just working out a healthy balance!

DakotaFanny · 18/08/2016 18:45

4 days off REALLY OFF plan- tbf spent them with my oldest and dearest friend so there was much wine to be consumed and delicious foods on the table etc....but feeling a bit crap about it! Stupid me!

DakotaFanny · 18/08/2016 18:45

How are you all doing it? What's your plan?

yoowhoo · 21/08/2016 11:20

Sorry I've been a bit awol. Been away again ;) no scales where I'm staying but I'm back tomorrow so will weigh in. I'm thinking of trying to give up sugar, at least for a little while. Has anyone done this ?

Weighed in this morning at two pounds less. So on track. Last week, I ate a ton of salmon and grilled chicken bkept off potatoes and bread until last night.
Exercise was :
Monday 25 minute walk with a few jogs
Tuesday spin class
Thursday spin class
Sunday 45 mins brisk walk

I really enjoyed the spin. Its probably the closest thing for me to running, which my ostepath is banning right now.
So two weeks in and four pounds off

It really helps me to weigh in each day, even if I have had a bad eating day. Maybe more so. I did notice my weight went up after two spin classes and eating very carefully. Dont understand it but it seems to come right by end of the week.
Adding a bums and tums class tonight.
Taking hubby to a real ale beer festival on Saturday, so want to get my retaliation in ( on alcohol) eatly this week!

goodenoughmum88 · 23/08/2016 20:52

Nice one tmhun!
I stayed the same this week, no surprises, ate too much at the end of the week. Back on now though. Combining a bit of low carb and General healthiness with smaller portion sizes and NO BISCUITS!!!!

Yoowoo are you cutting out refined sugar?! I've done it once, for a bit. Can't remember how it effected my weight but I do remember headaches and grumpiness!
Good luck x

sweetmuskrose · 26/08/2016 19:26

This is only my second post as I have been doing so badly! The summer hols are to blame, too many day trips with treats, fish and chips at the beach etc. I've actually managed to gain 6 lbs during the hols. Starting again after the bank hol.
