I've started and followed these types of threads several times over the last few years with no such luck! I think that my problem in the past has been that I want fast results and really that's not necessarily going to happen. I'm giving myself 8 weeks. 8 weeks to see what results I can get. The amount of times I start a 'diet' and give up after a few days or a week. Whereas if I stick to it for 8 weeks, perhaps I may actually start to see some results. I'm not doing any fad diet. Just going to eat healthier, smaller portions (i tend to over eat!) and less sugary treats (and crisps!)
I'm not going to totally limit myself because that's when I fail. This week I will aim for 3 runs or 2 runs and a swim. I am working less this week but on the days I work I will take the train instead of being stuck in traffic, this will involve 35 mins of walking too. Will be keeping on top of putting bottles of water in the fridge. I'm also going to try and do a few stomach exercises each day, even if it's while I'm watching TV. It takes no time at all really.
Does anybody want to join in? I'm starting tomorrow? We can give support through the week and weigh in every Sunday ?
I also think now is a good time because I've got no holidays or anything booked so I will simply be doing this for me, and not worrying about not being 'bikini ready'

I originally posted this in chat but got no responses but someone recommended this section which I didn't know about! I'm going to weigh myself shortly. I've written out the dates for the next 8 Sundays in a book and will be weighing myself each sunday.

Sorry, just come on with an horrendous AF and feel like absolute shit. Haven't eaten anything today and am going to bed, bleurge hate feeling like this

yoowhoo · 08/08/2016 22:00

Where did you get the courgette spirals from? I've wanted to try them but didn't want to buy the spiral maker thing!

Well done for doing the shred. That's great :) one down... how many to go?!

I'm about to do my squats. managed a stroll today and not eaten too badly either. Can't wait to get back mid week so I can get some proper exercise in.

fedup hope you feel better soon.

Found the spirals in Sainsburys. I did actually buy the spiralizer thing ages ago after a friend told me they were great. Then obviously it just stayed in the drawer never to spiral a bean. But honestly I totally loved it. Will have to dust off said Spiralizer, if it hasn't been sent to the charity shop. Hope you feel better fedup, it is rotten.

Cocolepew · 08/08/2016 22:20

Can I join? I was doing great a few weeks ago then fell off the wagon.
I'm going to try to give up chocolate, biscuits etc. And to eat smaller portions.

Ideally I need at least another stone off.
I was walking a bit more but had a flare up of a chronic condition and had to stop.

Diamondsandpurls · 08/08/2016 22:25

Ah, sorry, you'll feel better tomorrow waking up with a slightly flatter stomach Wink

yoowhoo · 08/08/2016 22:26

Of course you can join :)

Thanks yawning bear, I will look on weds. was it just in the veg section? Sounds nice! and I have prawns in the freezer

have linked the squat challenge if anyone is interested

Can I join too? Weight has been creeping upwards over the past year. 12st 2lbs this am. I feel ok at around 11stone. We're going away this weekend but I can't use that as an excuse - that's exactly what I have been doing for the past 6 months! Good luck everyone

goodenoughmum88 · 09/08/2016 08:31

Can I join? Am 10 months post DC2 and have lost most of baby weight but am still way over what I should be and struggling to find motivation! Am 5'5" and 11 stone 12lbs. Back to work in 8 weeks so would be nice to return feeling slimmer and more confident! Overall aim is 10.7 as that will just put me in healthy BMI range but giving myself until xmas as have a breastfeeding sleep thief to add into the mix!

yoowhoo · 09/08/2016 08:59

welcome both :)

goodenough snap I'm also 5'5" so my main aim would be to get in the healthy category but am aiming for 1 stone loss. Doing it gradually seems better because I don't feel like I have to be totally strict.

I'm off to the seaside today so this might be difficult. it's a place that's known for their ice cream. But will also be getting lunch (likely fish and chip places)
I'm not sure yet what I will do!

Started off good though. Melon, blueberries and fat free natural yoghurt. It was quite nice actually!

OP posts:
Cocolepew · 09/08/2016 11:47

Im 5' 5" too and 11st 5. Ideally Id liked to get down to ten and a half.
Had no chocolate at all yesterday Halo

Cocolepew · 09/08/2016 11:50

I wouldn't stress about going to the chippy, its a dinner Smile. As long as you dont eat all the ice cream, candy floss etc!
Im going for afternoon tea on friday and a cravery on sunday, so I'll plan my meals around them.

WaitrosePigeon · 09/08/2016 11:53

Oh yes please can I join you?

Was meant to weigh myself in Boots this morning but forgot twat

I'm having 3 meals a day, healthy of course, and I'm doing a mixture of 30DS, Yoga and a 7 minute workout app every day. Plus 10k steps at least. Fitbit is fully charged and I'm ready to go!

Desperately want to take up running again but I'm too heavy and too unfit at the moment.

This morning I had natural yogurt and fruit for breakfast. Then a mango cooler from Costa oops. Just had a handful of cashew nuts and I'm having a salmon salad for lunch.

It's going to be a very hungry day Grin

WaitrosePigeon · 09/08/2016 11:54

Ps I'm 5'5 and the last I checked I was 17st 3... I was 12st 7 at my wedding December 2014. I passed my driving test so started driving everywhere and doing no excuse, plus I suffered terribly with my mental health last year so I really need to get back on track.

yawningbear · 09/08/2016 13:07

Great that there are so many of us. Enjoy your trip to the seaside youwhoo. I love being by the sea. And don't worry about the fish and chips, I am sure I read somewhere that out of all the usual takeaway options f & c's were the best option, as Coco says, just no Candy floss!

I am not feeling so strong willed today. Have not deviated from the plan - yet!

stabbybitch · 09/08/2016 17:05

I was nervous about joining but I'm glad I did, I have somewhere to confess.

I had no tea yesterday but 3 cans of lager instead Shock

Today Iv eaten a massive bowl of cold Mac cheese, two marmite rolls with prawn cocktail crisp in. Two iced coffees.

Bread & crisp are my downfalls I crave them and I can't say no. I may have eaten more 24 packs in a day before Confused

I gave up sugar in my coffee 3 months ago and lost 6lb in the 3 months.

Realistically I don't think I'm going to do any exercise till DC go back to school. I did try a YouTube video 3 months ago but failed miserably. I'm so unfit, I smoke way too much and I'm really bottom heavy so found it difficult.

Hope everyone's had a better day than I have.

Cocolepew · 09/08/2016 17:28

Today I had a glass of grapefruit juice and blackberries.
A packet of wotsits 😳
Cheesy fishcake and rice and veg with Diet Coke.
DD bought me an eclair but I didn't have it.
Hope everyone has had a good day.

WaitrosePigeon · 09/08/2016 17:41

could murder a bag of wotsits

I've had a good day. Just drinking my first green tea - it's nice actually.

Going to do some yoga tonight. It's been a while.

Diamondsandpurls · 09/08/2016 18:46

Stabby don't beat yourself up and don't worry about confessions; speaking for myself in pretty unshockable cos I doubt there's much you can confess that I haven't done Grin. Any exercise is better than none so a smoky, wheezy 7 min exercise will help and is definitely worth doing being sensible if course and you'll never regret having done it. If I can give up biscuits/cake/chocolate/sweets cold turkey then you can beat the bread, I very rarely eat it now as it bloats me so much, just do one day off it, see a flatter tummy that evening and keep it going-you can do it!

Twodogsandahooch · 09/08/2016 20:48

Yoowhoo did you survive the seaside? I think the key is to have either the fish and chips or the ice cream and not both! This is where I go wrong. I have such an all or nothing approach to my diet. Today has been a good day despite lots of stress at work

yoowhoo · 09/08/2016 21:34

evening!! loving reading all your updates. Sorry I'm slightly rushed this eve so can't personally reply to all. But loving the motivation from everyone :)
Unfortunately I did both. . not fish and chips but a pub meal out and ice cream. But had no food this eve as lunch was filling (and more like mid afternoon) I felt really sickly after the ice cream and regretted it.
I'm heading home tomorrow so a trip to aldi I thinj will help as I can get back to routine.
Does anyone know if Pepsi max is ok ?

OP posts:
DakotaFanny · 09/08/2016 22:38

Can I join in? I'm just starting on a (basically) primal plan- designed mainly to improve my health- but hoping I will lose loads of weight too, obvs!!!

Have lost a stone this year (not that you can really tell) but have at least another two stone to shift (okay, three ideally!)

yawningbear · 10/08/2016 20:59

Marmite rolls and prawn cocktail crisps sounds lush. Although just the plain old bag of watsits would do the trick just now. For lunch I had a platter of vegetables, more prawns and a Skykr yoghurt thing. The yoghurt was quite nice as was the prawns so it wasn't all bad, but the platter of vegetables... Subsequently Spent the afternoon googling bento boxes as the only way I can this becoming a habit, is possibly if I have a really nice box to put the feking vegetables in. Even then it's stretching it. Onwards and upwards, or inwards or summat. Very glad for this thread though, it is keeping me on track, sort of Grin

yawningbear · 10/08/2016 21:14

yoowhoo reckon Pepsi Max is the same as Diet Coke so should be fine, and yes the spirals just in the veg section at Sainsbo's. Have been looking for the spiralizer thing I bought ages ago but cannot locate it, reckon it has been sent to the charity shop without ever being used Blush

Cocolepew · 10/08/2016 21:23

Evening everyone.
Today I had two rounds of toast with a LOT of peanut butter, grapefruit juice, green tea.
Two Blush bags of Wotsits and a diet Coke.
Oven chips, batteted fish and a fried egg. I didnt eat all of it though.
Ive just had some Coco Pops as well.
Not great but better than what I would usually eat .
I do usually have a proper lunch, Im off work atm so Im having a later breakfast and Im not hungry at lunch. Hence the Wotsits.

yoowhoo · 10/08/2016 21:23

dakota great to have you on board. Well done on losing a stone this year. That's fab!
Yawning! That made me laugh about the vegetables. I love soy sauce and find that adds a nice bit of flavour to veg (mainly stir fry veg!)
Not done too badly today. Dinner was a rice based dish with prawns and peppers etc...
Done squats. Going to try and go for a run in the morning. TRY being the operative word ;)
