Half term holiday over - now to that final 7lbs

NewYearNewNickname · 06/06/2016 08:45

I started the year at 10st 11lbs and have have lost and kept off around a stone. I have put a couple of pounds back on whilst on holiday over half term and this morning I weighed exactly 10 stone. I now want to lose that final bit but the motivation is not as strong as it was.

Anyone want to join me in finally reaching the end goal?

Wow, flopl well done with your 4.5 stone! You must feel amazing Halo
Refined sugar...yup yup, that's defo got to go.
We want regular, motivating weight loss right? To start the summer bikini ready, kids-on-hol ready, able to "have cheese and wine with no guilt" ready.

I'm up for the challenge.
Just had a fist full of raw baby corn. It was alright..I suppose. Crunchy, but not bad for me, like crisps.
Maybe i need another black coffee. I feel moody.

My tooth isn't rotten... apparently I might have face ache from grinding my teeth!?

CoperCabana · 08/06/2016 16:05

Flop that is totally amazing!
Good day for me so far and no alcohol tonight. Hope you all will be supporting the weekday teetotal rule tonight too!

FlopIsMyParentingGuru · 08/06/2016 18:51

I managed an exercise DVD at lunch on the plus side.
Which should hopefully offset the half a sausage I scoffed (kids tea) while cooking my dinner. I just wish it had st least tasted worth it...

NewYearNewNickname · 08/06/2016 21:45

I was doing so well until my DH said he was taking me to the pub while the kids were at Cubs Wink I had a raw carrot when I got in from work and everything!!

I did only have one glass of wine and I took the dog out for a long walk after so in my head these two acts balance each other out, right?

Well done to those who managed the teetotal Weds Halo

CoperCabana · 08/06/2016 21:46

My DH tried to break me, but I have resisted!

Karcheer · 08/06/2016 21:57

Can I join in please, I've about 14lb to lose, but 7 would be a start.
I've never worried about weight, I used to eat well and be a gym bunny but I've hardly done anything in about 3 years.
We went away two weeks ago and was too embarrassed to take my sundress off whilst sunbathing.
My diet is dreadful and exercise is just walking the dogs.

NewYearNewNickname · 09/06/2016 07:20

I have been reviewing my food choices and actually they have been quite good, so despite the wine I am not feeling too bad. I have also really been thinking about my motivation. For the first stone I was so determined but now I am comfortably wearing a size 10 and I know I am a healthy weight the ultimate choice of 'which do I want more, the glass of wine / chocolate bar / ice cream etc or to lose weight?' usually comes down on the side of the treat. However now that I have been maintaining this weight for a few months I really do want to finish the job so some determination is needed!
Today is going to involve quite a bit of exercise. We usually go for a swim on a Thurs and after that I am meeting some friends for an 18m bike ride so plenty of extra calories will be banked today. Tomorrow is my day off so I am going to run in the morning too Halo
Keep it up everyone, we can shift this final bit and be feeling our best for summer Smile

Excellent post NewName. Yes. ..motivation talk is was I need today. Wonderful you.

I was sad with my tooth last night, and was trying to smile thru it and be brave, so the Hubster poured me a glass of prosecco whilst I rolled pizza dough, and then TOPPED MY GLASS fgs!

I want to shift the last bit of flubber gut. I was 0.4 of 1lb up this morning (think my digestion is shot as mentioned).

Thanks for morning briefing. Onwards and upwards, and off to school run, make up done in car, onto work. I will take an apple.

modernfemininity · 09/06/2016 07:55

Morning Karcheer and hello to your new body suit, which can be shaken off soo quickly you know! New fat is easier to lose I believe Grin. Can you return to the gym, as you liked it before? And dieting doesn't make you hungry. You just need new habits.

I hate exercise but I am considering cycling again. (Thanks again NewName. You just mentioning you can do an 18m ride!!! Is that after work?)

Karcheer · 09/06/2016 08:20

modern not really, I really can't afford it at the moment. I also feel pretty tired and felling like I can't be bothered but I've a feeling this is down to bad food choices too.

FlopIsMyParentingGuru · 09/06/2016 08:47

Morning everyone! Up most of the night with DD who was vomiting. Am hoping I won't be losing the next few pounds from catching her bug Shock
Had planned to do an exercise DVD when she naps but I might end up catching up on sleep. I think my main aim today is not to turn to snacking because of tiredness.

NewYearNewNickname · 09/06/2016 15:59

DHS who top up Prosecco glasses should be celebrated modern Grin Yes the ride will be after work, the pace is not very speedy and when the sun is shining and it is with friends it doesn't really feel like exercise!

Hope DD is ok flops and that you managed to catch up on some sleep.

Am very chuffed with how today has gone. A melon medley prepared fruit pack and a porridge pot for brekkie, cottage cheese and rice cakes as a snack, falafel salad for lunch and a BOL / Innocent veg pot for tea as I will be in a rush come to just under 1000 cals. Add on some calories for a swim and a cycle and today will be the best day for a long time. Might even treat myself to a glass of Prosecco myself later, especially as tomorrow is my day off.

Have been invited to a friend's on 22nd July to celebrate the start of the summer hols and have decided that this can be my target date for fitting into the trousers. I'm imagining myself in my friend's garden in the evening sunshine, something cold and alcoholic in my hand and looking fabulous Grin I'm hoping the visualisation will help it become a reality!!

Morning Gang.
IMPRESSIVE DAY NewName
Nice menu too and goodness me, a swim and a cycle! You deserve good results, you goddess, and I am jot joking.

I had a good diet day yesterday and went to bed a bit peckish, having shifted my calories to the early part of the day. My days menu not as balanced as yours NewName. I am going to check my protein carb fat and think better about vitamins and not just calories.

I got a bit chilly in the evening outside and that is all good for calorie burning. Didn't have any wine!

CoperCabana · 10/06/2016 10:32

Well done Modern on the abstinence and well done New on the healthy, active day! I have tried and failed at the visualisation before but it worked for me earlier this year, when I was working towards a family event, and now am working towards a wedding. I have had a pretty good week. Am back to my pre holiday weight - which is about a 6lb loss, but all water I suspect! I did have wine and snacks on Monday as well, so pretty pleased! Onwards and upwards!

modernfemininity · 10/06/2016 12:09

Morning Coper!
How are you doing Karcheer? Hope you're not glum? Today is the first day of the rest of your life, and all that.
And sober Betty? Not flashing a flat tum just yet maybe?

I've had a boiled egg for breakfast (to up my protein) Smile.
Hours til I eat again...
My calories have been very low but I haven't lost anything this weekAngry. Will the scales catch up and show a loss by Monday? It's only week 1 in this MN buddy group and I want to be a winner/loser!

FlopIsMyParentingGuru · 10/06/2016 14:54

Managed an exercise DVD while DD napped. Unfortunately got the munchies so need to ride those out til tea time.

modernfemininity · 10/06/2016 15:17

Hi Flopl. Well i am impressed. Those dvd's are hard. When my kids were tiny, I didn't have energy to do extra exercise.
Well done!
You've lost a lot of weight. We can stave off the munchies together. I am about to have an orange as a snack (is that too much sugar for you on your low sugar diet?)

NewYearNewNickname · 10/06/2016 17:42

modern I can assure you I am far from a godess!!!

Amazing result with the 6lbs coper, water or not that is still very impressive!

Today was going so well up until the Magnum when I picked up the DC Blush It was only 260 cals so just means I may have to forego wine later Sad

The swim didn't actually happened yesterday as DD had fallen over and cut both knees but I did cycle. The planned run hasn't happened today either but will try and get one in over the weekend.

Stay strong over the weekend everyone, always my downfall!!

Ugh, Weigh in on Monday and I want a bit of old flubber loss. I've shed the big fresh flab, and I really want to shift the solid stuck-to-me thigh flab, and the mini bingo wings.

So...soon to dinner. We have prawns (for later) and something I've not had before...a packet of Crab Claw Meat. It was in the chilled section. It was much cheaper than the large raw prawns.
Nice Crab, or not nice????, and what shall i do with it? Packet says it's "hand picked" Shock.
Thinking doing a bed of tinned tomatoes, with onions and chilli. I have a (disgusting) bag of slim rice too, and some green beans. The teens can have real rice and bruchetta or garlic bread, maybe sweetcorn.

We have loads of food in. Big family. Horrid teens smash through thousands of calories at one sitting. And they're all skinny. Well, except the 24 year old who loves food more than. ..um everything...but they are trying the smaller bowl ans stop before full thing.

CoperCabana · 10/06/2016 19:18

Am out for dinner and drinks tonight. Weighed myself before I got ready to try and stay focussed. But already have a glass of wine on the go! Oops a daisy! Have got a relatively healthy weekend of meals planned, and have no wine left so hope to not have the weekend a complete write off!

Don't know about crab really - never got on with it.

Stay strong all!

FlopIsMyParentingGuru · 10/06/2016 23:45

Snacked on a breadstick. Don't think it'll break the diet. Otherwise stayed the course today. Really proud of myself.
Don't have time to do exercise at the weekend randomly. But will try to be good all weekend as I'm so close I just want to finish strong.

NewYearNewNickname · 11/06/2016 09:48

Well done flop staying on course is no mean feat, especially on a Friday and I really like the idea of 'finishing strong' Smile

Hope the crab was nice modern, I'm veggie so no use asking me for ideas I'm afraid!!

Hope you had a good night coper. I am out this eve hence hoping to get a run in to counteract some of the many calories I will no doubt be consuming! I am hoping that a run combined with a really good day tomorrow will mean a night out won't have too much of an impact on the scales on Monday

OP posts:
CoperCabana · 11/06/2016 11:16

Hey all. I was very good last night. Few glasses of wine but salad to eat and no pudding! Weigh in this morning I am another pound down which is an 8 year low!!!!!! Yeeee
Haaaaa!
I love this finish strong thing! And a run before a night out is v sensible New!

BettyDraper1 · 11/06/2016 15:36

Hi all, great to hear that you are all hanging in there, keep it up!

I had my shopping delivered last night and it was all fruit, veg, seeds, soda water, etc. Healthiest shop ever! I'm keeping up with my regime and last night drank only 2 gin and soda waters! Woke up early feeling great and did some pilates. I am determined to do it this time, i really am. It doesnt even feel that difficult atm.

Unusually (perhaps) I dont weigh myself (I get unhealthily obsessed), I go by how my clothes feel and how I look. Anyone else do that? I feel like i've definitely lost some weight this week so onwards and upwards. I'm due on too so i should be feeling like a heifer today but i don't.

Right, i'm off for a Brazillian wax. Wish me luck! X

BettyDraper1 · 11/06/2016 15:38

Btw, well done on your 8 yr low Coper, that must feel like you've broken through a barrier huh? X
