nellen12, if it worked how come you are doing it again? Not being snippy, I genuinely want to find something that will work and I'm wondering if PM will.

I tried this a long time ago but couldn't get to grips with it and lost nothing. Things are different now and I need to try and see if it's emotional issues making me eat too much but tbh I feel I don't eat enough and never know when I'm hungry after trying the 5:2 [sigh].

Currently reading the book, have been for a run and started MFP to keep an eye on my intake rather than obsess with calories eaten.

Have to honour very soon but will check back in later. Thank you.

Hiya. Can I sign up? I'mean on day one of the emotional eating program.
I am especially liking the havening technique, but using a dvd is annoying, is it available on the app and if so what app please?

Going I started mindful eating (Paul McKenna) about ten years ago. It works as it teaches you to only eat when your truly hungry and stop when satisfied. Most of us eat for every reason other than real can't ignore hunger. It helped me maintain for years. Last year I decided to lose more weight as I had not been truly eating this way. Lost 2 stone more and have maintained since Christmas. It works but you have to go back to eating instinctively.

Is anyone still doing this?

I just started it. I don't have a huge amount of weight to lose, maybe 9lbs, but I'm short and small build so any extra weight makes me look (and feel awful) I'm also worried about the quality of food I eat.

I have a huge sweet tooth and really no willpower so I'm hoping that this plan will help me to step away from the chocolate and biscuits etc.! I also have a habit of eating extremely fast, and again hoping PMK will help me slow down! Although am wondering how you can 'chew' soup or sloppy food 20 times?!

So far so good. I would usually have had a fair few chocolate biscuits by this time but today I've managed to avoid so am feeling quite proud Smile

I have to really try to drink water as its not something I enjoy drinking unlike gin but I have found that drinking it from a 1lt sports cap bottle makes it much easier for some reason. I buy the volvic one once a week and then refill twice a day. Sometimes I drink 3 ltrs a day which I would really struggle to do if it was in a glass.

Good luck to everyone!

I'm here. Thank you tillybean. That is v motivating. In case anyone wants to know the "thin" app does have the havening technique. ☺
I'm on day four and whilst I am not sure I have lost weight, I do feel in control without binges. Even the mini every single blooming evening ones in front of the TV.

Good to see some of you are still doing it. I'm doing ok, I just am trying to make sure I check in with my hunger scale before I eat. If I'm not really hungry I wait awhile.

Can I join you? For me is not about weight as much as rating mindfullly. Obviously loading a few pounds would be good but I'd like to start listening to my body and have noticed that sometimes even even full I continue reading. I'm sure this has something with having a traumatic childhood and not enough food so now I have having drawers at home and struggle to leave good on my plate.

Cleanmachine having all the foods you love is a good place to start and once you allow yourself to eat them when you are truly hungry for them but stop when you get a feeling that you are satisfied ( you can always go back to it later) then you are on the right track. Sometimes all you need is to cut a doughnut up into 4 and have one forth to feel satisfied. Same with dinner. I use a smallish plate and eat it till I feel I have had enough.

Clean I also had a childhood where I was not allowed to eat when I was hungry and no treat food was allowed in our house. My mother was a dieter.

Hello!

Sorry to hear about your Dad and brother franny and nellen. Flowers.

I have just downloaded the app and also ordered the cd and book (1p off amazon)! I will try the app for now and have a look at the book and the cd when they arrive. Not sure if I can use both together? Anyway, I do hope this helps me sort out my relationship with food, which is going a bit awry! Confused. Possibly it always has been.

LadyHiGrin The hypnosis bit is brilliant but you need to read the book to help you consciously understand how to stop overeating.

Thanks lee! I've just done the secrets session. I'm a bit Confused as to how I'm going to manage to eat without focusing on anything but the food with my toddler chucking things all over the kitchen! Grin

Looking forward to hypno thing this evening. I'm feeling quite positive right now.

Well done with 1lb loss!

Yes it's that bit that I'm struggling with too. So many distractions whilst eating. I had a few bits of toast left when I started to feel full today but carried on eating. I'm still finding it hard to stop eating. I need to work on leaving food. Listened to the app last night and I'm feeling full. However I am very sceptical. How is everyone doing?

Listened to app last night but, just as I was drifting off DH leant over me to switch it off and woke me up - he thought it was going to go on all night and couldn't get to sleep with it on. Oh well, it was nearly over by then anyway. Feel ok today - I ate breakfast but my focus was very much on DD and I cleared my plate. Coincidence maybe? Will see how the rest of today goes.

cleanmachine · 11/05/2016 12:29

Leeloo I think I'm sceptical about being able to eat mindfully. And I've not really had the full feeling yet. This might be because my portions aren't usually very big so if I'm having one slice of toast for lunch (no brekkie) I'm unlikely to get to the point of feeling full.

Clean With PM and mindful eating you eat till satisfied not full. Now it takes about 20 mins for your tummy to register food so a cup of tea after your meal will help and if after 20 mins you still feel hungry then eat some more. I don't have big portions now and use a side plate for food.
