Good morning ladies and a happy new year to you all. Good luck and lets not be too hard on ourselves over the weight most of us will have put on over the festive season. Lets look forward to the weight we are all going to lose this year

LieselVonGiftwrapp · 01/01/2007 15:58

Am I the only one who lost weight over the holidays?
Sorry wheres my smug emoticon.

jampots · 01/01/2007 16:00

My scales are broken so I dont actually know how much Ive put on. However in my defence I started my period a week early and hopefully that will account for the feelings of utter bloatiness. I have now embraced my diet with gusto and looking forward to losing 10lbs this month! Its my own personal challenge!

tortoise · 01/01/2007 16:04

Happy new year Ladies.
I really will try harder this year!

Not weighed myself since before christmas. Will do in the morning.

willandsamsmum · 01/01/2007 22:58

Hi, can I join your group please? (insert begging emoticon here!)

I am 31, 5' 4" and 13st 4lbs and I want to lose 3 1/2 stone.

jampots · 02/01/2007 13:16

i had an excellent day yesterday (apart from 1 toffee ) but today no blips at all! (and yes i know its only lunchtime)

Smalline · 02/01/2007 13:27

Hi everyone, weighed myself this morning am 12 stone. Apparently, according to my sister the average weight we put on over Christmas and New Year is 8lbs, and it takes us until Easter to loose it, well I've only put on 4lbs and I hope to lose that by the end of the month.

OP posts:
HeavyBee · 02/01/2007 21:19

I haven't braved the scales yet after a gluttonous time over the new year. I will in the morning though. Any one new who wants to be on the chart, welcome! It's great to have you along. Give your email address - write dot instead of . to avoid spam explosions - and I'll add you to the list. We weigh in on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday and I try to get the chart out on Thursdays (but I'm a bit slow).

DimpledThighs · 03/01/2007 00:33

Hi everyone

I weighed in this morning at 12.0 exactly. I was 11.8 before christmas so some heavy damage has been done there! I am hoping to go to the gym more when dc are at school and hoping for some help resisting treats in these next few cold cold months!

liesl I cannot believe you managed to lose weight over christmas - that is fantastic, were you trying ever so hard?

jampots would also love to lose 10lbs this month, but might not be too easy for me!

smalline we have the same weight today, will be nice to (hopefully) progress together

tortoise am not stalking you , honest!

heavybee thanks for keeping stats and charts, would love one, will post email address soon!

Good luck everyone (no more christmas leftovers for me!)

DimpledThighs · 03/01/2007 00:36

my email is:

dimpledthighs at hotmail dot co dot uk

HeavyBee · 03/01/2007 10:16

Welcome, DimpledThighs! I'll put you on the chart and the email list now, so if you don't get the chart when I send it out later this week let me know and I'll see what I've done, or not done.

I'm weighing in at 9st 4lb this morning so that's only a pound more. Mind, I've walked my socks off this holiday. Sigh. I do really like walking, but I'd have liked rather more cake to go with it.

Anyway, good luck to all of us, we can start coming out of carbohydrate filled hibernation now the days are getting longer!

pesme · 03/01/2007 11:42

10 2 today which i am pleased with. have been exercising like a woman possessed. off to my brothers 40th tomorrow so wish me luck for next week.

welcome to williamandsamsmum and dimpled thighs. i h ave found this thread really helps.

happy new year.

HeavyBee · 03/01/2007 17:18

Pesme, that's fantastic! Shows real willpower. I'm sure we can all of us, new and old LLs, lose weight this month with all this encouragement. I'm still staggered by LieselVonGiftwrapp actually losing weight over Christmas but it gives us something to aspire to! Willandsamsmum, SpicymulledSheraz, Fizzbuzz, JennaJ, Jampots, LieselVonGiftwrapp, DimpledThighs, I've put you on the chart, and JennaJ and Dimpledthighs are now on my sending out list too. Anyone else, feel welcome to join! I've lost ten pounds because of this list and I only have about half a stone to go.

jambuttie · 03/01/2007 19:40

DimpledThighs · 03/01/2007 19:42

OMG!!!
12st 10lbs. Ooops!!!
Time to stop eating crap and start losing weight.

tortoise · 03/01/2007 19:49

Can i just ask what does everyone eat for breakfast?
I feel sick if i have anything with milk on in the morning so i normally have toast but its thickly covered in butter and a bit of jam! this is obviously not a good breakfast so i wondered what others did.

DimpledThighs · 03/01/2007 19:54

um - coffee.

I know I should eat breakfast but always dashing around making packed lunches etc. Over christmas have been eating dorset museli to counteract the crap but that was fine as had it at about ten each morning.

I can't face much in the morning either - what about a smoothie or fruit juice?

Adez is half price in the co-op, kind of soya fruit smoothie thing.

jambuttie · 03/01/2007 20:11

Tortoise we often have toast with banana then a wee drizzle of honey on top- no butter though!!!!

I need to get rid of the chocolate, crisps and all the goodies from xmas

tortoise · 03/01/2007 20:16

I have to eat breakfast. Its almost the 1st thing i do after getting up and doing DD1 and Dd2's milk!
MMmmm banana on toast sounds good. Not sure about honey though.I will have to buy some and try it! Any preference to the best one?

I don't drink tea or coffee.
My co-op is small and doesn't do Adez.I love it so will have to add it to the next tesco shop.

HeavyBee · 04/01/2007 11:23

I have muesli - really basic stuff made largely of jumbo oats, wheat, rye and barley flakes. I add a handful of dried fruit and half a dozen hazelnuts or almonds. I have unsweetened soya milk with extra calcium on it, which I find much more digestible than real milk, but you could try Rice Dream too. I drink weak tea with lemon. That lasts me easily until lunch time, whereas my previous breakfast of toast and marmalade or cheese always left me starving by 11.00 and in need of chocolate tiffin or Twix bars.

Liv321 · 04/01/2007 19:05

Hello all, I've been largely absent for the last few weeks 'cos of getting largely large!!
Peaked at 13-1 ... now back down to 12-8 (yo yo queen!! ) and ready to start marking v v positive weight loss programme OK, well, we'll see.

Porridge for breakfast, made with water not milk... and lots of Splenda sprinkled on top is order of the day for me for cold weather. Min or two in microwave... can bung in raisins or banana or whatever instead of sugar/sweetener.

Good luck to all for this week

fizzbuzz · 04/01/2007 20:03

Please can someone explain to Little Miss Dim here. (well not so little actually)Are there 2 threads with same name?
Have posted on one thread wanting to join, but not sure it was on here. Then again, not sure it was on other one either.

Are the 2 threads "related" in any way? This one seems to have lots of posts.

HeavyBee · 04/01/2007 22:03

Fizzbuzz, I've put you on the chart (see an earlier post down the page a bit) and I expect you saw last week's thread - we have a new one on Monday or Tuesday when Smalline (usually) starts us off. We weigh in here before Thursday and I try to send out the chart within a day or so. If you put your email address with "dot" instead of full stops to help stop your inbox filling up with rubbish, then I'll send you the chart too.

Liv321, how lovely to see you again! I wish I could lose half a stone that fast, I could stop then....

willandsamsmum · 04/01/2007 22:39

I have porridge for breakfast with raisins or dried apricots instead of sugar. I like to make it in the saucepan though to give the raisins time to get nice and plump.

Not doing so well in the last few days as the left over christmas biscuit box is throughly undermining me but have a very healthy menu plan for the next week or so and got a george foreman grill for christmas so will try that out as well.

Will post my email address when I've set one up that isn't my full real name!

Thanks for the welcome!
