Sorry if stepping on toes. But couldn't see another thread. Anybody want to join me? I guess the idea is that some weeks you loose a bit more and some weeks you gain but aiming for 1lb a week sounds good to me.

Try out this 3 week program: www.weightlossin3weeks.weebly.com
it has workout, diet and mindset manuals that will help you lose up to 23 pounds which is half the 52 in just 3 weeks and from what I've seen on other bolgs it helped lots of people.

Wow Nan that's amazing! Well my night shift was horrendously busy. Didn't get to sit down and have my chicken stew at all, had a small pack of nuts and an apple at 5am. Got home at 1030 and went straight to bed and just woke at 6! I'm just having my breakfast now (omelette with feta, spinach and 2 turkey rashers) and cuddling my DD before I head off again at 740pm. I hate nights!

Fabulous!!! Well doneGrin!!

Rinceoir · 11/02/2016 16:36

How's everyone doing? I have my last night shift tonight and a weekend off before 4 days and 3 nights next week. So plan some more batch cooking at the weekend. Have been incredibly busy so very little time to eat overnight which is hopefully helping.

NantucketNightbird · 11/02/2016 17:23

Oh my goodness Rince, that sounds bloody tough going!
I'm doing good stuck rigidly to my plan. I'm taking my daughter out shopping for the day next week during half term. She's 5 and wants her eats pierced and we are going to have dinner I'm going to stay positive and make really good choices. I will do a 24hr fast so whatever I eat I will make that my only meal and fast for 24hrs afterwards.
It's half term next week but I plan to get out with the children every day Smile
How's everyone else doing?

It's very quiet on here! I'm delighted to be finished nights (well until next weekend anyway!). I ate a bit much yesterday- had friends for lunch and made a "healthier" pulled pork with loads of sides. Will go on a long walk today to pull it back a bit. Nan are you on mfp? They have the calorie counts of a lot of restaurants there- might be worth a look before your day out with daughter.

NantucketNightbird · 14/02/2016 11:43

I was thinking the same Rince, do t you go leaving me too Wink.
I was up all night with my daughter vomiting, I'm dreading another sickness bug which does hits everyone in turn. DH is working again tomorrow so I don't think I can make it to weigh so at worst I will have to weigh a week tomorrow. But I should be firmly in the 11s by then. I can't believe how much more I take pride in myself when I loose weight. I've been doing my nails, makeup and taking more time to pick my outfits. I've always been a dress wearer which helps, I don't own a single pair of trousers or jeans!

I'm still here. Finding it blooming hard to get going, but hoping that once I am off, it will be easier. Ended up with three skin biopsies this week, and colleague is away, so have been doing two ft jobs. I have to say that although I have been making changes, there have also been 'fuck it' points.

That said, I finally finished reading Marie Kondo's book last night, and was intrigued by her observations about environmental and body clutter. I've been planning to embark on a huge decluttering exercise as we have literally been moving crap around the world with us for twenty years, and I am now intrigued to see if sorting out the external physical environment will give me the (literal and metaphorical) space to sort out my internal physical environment lol. Anyhoo - going to do my clothes today, so let's see where that takes me!

I've tried mfp but I can't stick to anything that requires working out points or writing down everything I am consuming - I need more basic 'rules' like no bread, no dairy, no alcohol. I quite Anna Richardson's two week body blitz for that reason (and have had good results in the past). So... I guess I might do that for two weeks and hope that it triggers my start point?

Good luck both - you are doing much better out of the starting blocks that I am! I need to get a grip and get my head in the game!

Rinceoir · 14/02/2016 17:16

I take more care too Nan, but I'm finding clothes a bit demoralising at the moment. My pre baby clothes don't fit, my post baby clothes are starting to look shapeless and baggy. And I don't suit shapeless- I'm somewhere between an hourglass and a pear, and even now with a bmi of 32 my waist is only 30inches- hips and thighs are huge.

Madwoman- I just find I need to track everything or I cheat. I was just like you before Xmas, finding it hard to get going but I seem to be in the right headspace now.

NantucketNightbird · 14/02/2016 18:48

I'm exactly the same, my stomach is flat now after loosing this initial 19lbs but my thighs, bum and legs are huge. I can wear a size 12 dress now even at my height 5ft 2 and my weight. But at 9.7st I will be able to fit a 10.

Do you like dresses? I bought some cheap saltrock dresses/tunics to see me through until I got back into my decent stuff.
Mad you will get there it just takes something to click. I fannied all of last year and couldn't do it and quite frankly got to a point where I thought meh fuck it. But at Christmas I felt disgusted when I couldn't fit the moomin pjs my kids had got me. I'm
Now seeing food as fuel and not eating until I'm hungry, quite often I'm having one large meal every 24hrs, then just almond milk shakes with various things added besides.

I do like dresses, wear them most days to work and they definitely look better than my other clothes at the moment. But on my off days I'm running about after a toddler, batch cooking and still breastfeeding (although working on weaning) so dresses are less practical, and I'd love some nice casual clothes. I'd love to look good in skinny jeans/loose tops but they never suit me, even at my thinnest! I fear my stomach may never be flat again after c-section but it's definitely shrinking. I've been keeping track of my measurements and can see I'm losing inches, even though I can't quite see it in the mirror yet. DH is encouraging me to head out shopping and get a few things but can't quite face it yet.

Rinceoir · 15/02/2016 08:49

Well another 2lbs down, 17lbs total. Hoping eating a bit much over the weekend doesn't result in a jump next week.

NantucketNightbird · 15/02/2016 13:07

You are unstoppable Rince! Really disappointed I'm not weighing today but I know from experience how much my weight can fluctuate through the day. Positive for next week though.

I hope some of the other people come back!

Well ladies I'm only catching up now. Not great here, I'm 150.4lb this morning. I hoped to be in the 40s but I had a hunch that wasn't going to happen. I simply wasn't going to bed hungry enough! It's been a tough week and meals have been completely disrupted - toddler, newborn, moving house in 2 weeks, me being grumpy from lack of sleep and running about too much - my eating habits just went awry.

Anyway at least I didn't GAIN weight!

Havalina1 · 15/02/2016 16:31

I'm going home (to Ireland) in two weeks - I was meant to be off in almost 4 and that was part of my target. It's SO hard to control eating when I'll be visiting people with the babies and having copious cups of tea at kitchen tables and probably setting the world to right, as you do Grin but he new house isn't ready so I'm bridging the gap with my trip home.

I feel better physically though - i think I've broken that sinking doomed feeling of "I'll never get a handle on this". I'm feeling stronger since a hard labour (I had a massive baby and my body was busted basically!) but I'm feeling my strength coming back in my movements.

I'm sick with clothes too! I'm bf at the moment so limited with tops!

Rinceoir · 15/02/2016 18:12

Hav you have a lot on your plate, at least you are thinking of weight loss- I gained 10kg on maternity leave! So I think staying steady is amazing. Lots of tea and biscuits I expect at home. I would just tell people that x,y,z makes the baby windy- as you know most Irish people are obsessed with wind! (Also back home to Ireland next week!)

NantucketNightbird · 15/02/2016 19:10

I agree with rince, my youngest (I have 4) is 3, and when I started this I was heavier than after he was born and he was 10lb 7! Don't be hard on yourself you have young children and are moving house. When I last moved house when youngest was 18m I was so stressed I ate my way through it Grin.
So I'm off for my day out with my daughter tomorrow. I have 3 boys and one girl so I do like to take advantage of her love of all things girly. This will be my first time of eating out so in determined to make good choices.

I just saw your post. I'm attempting to declutter but I can't get OH to do the same! So that wrecks my head but I think your plan us amazing and makes so much sense. Three biopsies in a week - that sounds very tough going. Hope you are doing alright?

Rinceoir · 16/02/2016 21:41

How did your day out go Nan?

Havalina1 · 16/02/2016 21:55

Hi Rinceoir

I guessed you were Irish too Wink

Love the wind suggestion! Worst thing i could do is mention attempted weight loss, it's like a cardinal sin "sure you're GRAND!"

NantucketNightbird · 17/02/2016 01:31

It went good, we had a lovely day wandering the shops. Stopped for lunch in harvester and I had a vegetarian tart with jacket potato. Very proud of myself for not having chips or any extra sides or a larger meal for that matter. I didn't even take a trip to the salad bar! I had a pint of water before food and during and stopped when I was full which was after just half tart/jacket walked away and was happy to be so mindful. The first time ever on a diet that has happened! So apart from an almond milk when I went to bed I will fast for 24hrs from that meal.
I'm up wide awake now with 3 naughty cats locked in separate rooms as they are arguing. It's awful weather and it sends them wild.

Havalina1 · 17/02/2016 08:08

Well done Nan!!! That really is so good. I still crave carbs when I'm eating out.

Yes these big babies of ours! 10lb8 here, so you know what I'm taking about!!!

I haven't started the packing yet. My head is still mumbling through how I'm going to do it and where to start. I've ordered a set of stuff from a moving company - boxes and bubble wrap etc, a package, plus I spent 50 quid online at idea getting those clothes storage bags. Getting there!

NantucketNightbird · 17/02/2016 12:55

Straight back on it today, just had my dinner. I'm off to the cinema with the kids on a bit. I'm not even bothered about them having sweets!

Rinceoir · 17/02/2016 20:40

Well done Nan! I'm finding it hard going this week, really want some toast for some reason! I have been resisting but may allow one slice over my night shifts at the weekend.
