I'm going back to work after extended mat leave this week, kids back to school and nursery. It's time to put some better eating habits in place and stop scoffing ice cream! I have a 12 week 'sort out the Mum tum' program to follow and about 12 lb to lose. I just need some buddies to kick my fat arse keep me accountable. My birthday (40something) is the end of November, would love to be back in shape by then. 1lb a week.....

Oh forgot to say - back to the Davina workouts today!

Miloarmadillo1 · 02/09/2015 19:45

Welcome 2madboys Smile I have 2 of those as well, plus baby DD. We went to a fantastic playground today to round off the holidays, and tomorrow they are back to school, so we have officially survived it was touch and go at some points, DS2 I'm looking at you
I'm going to do a big shop tomorrow once I have packed the boys off to school, does anyone have suggestions of healthy family meals I can add to the repertoire?

I do aerial silks at the local high-school gym, of all places. It's always worth googlin something like that, if you're interested: you never know what'll come up :)

I eat a lot of dates and fruit. I worry about the sugar too. But it feels like my sweet treat!

No run again today :( she left for work at 5am and has had a hitch so won't be home till after nine :( one good thing about going back to work tomorrow (teacher) is that I can get back a routine.

Eaten clean today: banana pancakes, mackerel and avocado salad, turkey burger (home made) and sweet pot chips. Though now because of no run am thinking about chocolate. I should be thinking about Pilates but instead will prob go to bed with a good book.

Have a good day tomorrow, everyone!

Wobblystraddle · 03/09/2015 06:42

Morning, everyone.

Well, I did eat the chocolate and didn't do the Pilates. But work starts today so I'm back in the routine. I have, despite chocolate, managed to eat clean the last two days, though have eaten c1900 calories each day. I don't seem to be able to calorie restrict at all at the moment!

What does everyone have planned for today? I'm going to do that six mile run, eat clean and do some Pilates tonight :)

Grange · 03/09/2015 07:04

May I join? Went to first SW last night and although I feel the plan can work for me, I found the whole meeting dull and fake. Maybe I just need to embrace it??

margaritasbythesea · 03/09/2015 07:10

Can I join please? I am getting back on track after the summer too. I started yesterday with a bit of Davina and some reps on my new little ab sheel thingy. Also using MFP. My downfall is a glass of wine in the evening. If is happening too often! I am usually pretty good but have had the willpiwer of a jelly lately.

Miloarmadillo1 · 03/09/2015 09:32

at grange and margerita
I did SW to lose baby weight after DS2 and while it did work for me I didn't think much of the meetings - having the baby was a good excuse not to stay. Having to weigh in did make me stick at it though.

Hello!
me please :D Looking for a kick/motivation to even get started! would love to join you in your new term determination... and It's my birthday on 1st December so although i'm not doing anything it would be nice to get to my 33rd a little lighter.

I have a 4 year old (starting school tomorrow, gulp!), a terrible but cute 2 year old and a 6 week old. All boys :D
I have 7 pounds of pregnancy weight to lose then 28 pounds to get to an achievable healthy weight.
Seems like such a mission right now. Cant even decide if I should just "cut down" but that's probably too vague for me, follow an actual plan (weight watchers? SW?) or count the cals at home!x Not sure how many cals as exc BF at the mo ...

Had Weetabix and banana for breakfast... better than yesterdays 3 breakfasts so that's a start!x

Winstonsma · 03/09/2015 10:26

oh, and I don't work so have no structure/witnesses to my eating :D

Sitoff · 03/09/2015 12:38

Welcome Winston too. Mine are older but I am at home so unaccountable to anyone as well. I try not to buy goodies in but that is not always possible and with BF and your lot you need some!

More of the same for me today - 2 good days under my (large) belt.

Margaritas wine a problem here too - not so much the glass but the nibbles that go with it and the lack of restraint after.

OctopusArmEnvy · 03/09/2015 17:43

Hi everyone :-) good to see so many of us here to encourage each other :-)
Well my two days of wallowing are now over both first day of school for DS1 and first day of preschool for DD complete - now it's time to get serious!!! ;-)
Will weigh in tomorrow and hopefully manage an evening jog :-)
Xx

OctopusArmEnvy · 03/09/2015 17:44

Ps what Davina DVD is everyone doing? I've got intense :-) xx

margaritasbythesea · 03/09/2015 19:42

I lost a lot of weight using the 30 day shred and MFP. I have kept it off for years. I have a target weight in mind now and even though I have lost a lot more than what remains to go - lots more! - I just don't seem to be arsed. I am very frustrated with myself. Not such a great day today in terms of self restraint!

I started the 7 minute Davina one yesterday to try and get me motivated and into exercise again. I don't think it is going to transform me as it is way, way easier than the thread, but I might go and do some now ...

ThatsNotMyHouseItIsTooClean · 03/09/2015 20:54

Good days here. Yesterday, a fast day, I ate a panini in Costa (they have no low cal options in there), had a leg of a gingerbread man & two grapes. I also managed to keep away from the children's leftovers (other than the gingerbread man leg) & nor did I nibble on anything whilst making DD's packed lunch. I did have to go & have a bath at 9.30pm though to stop myself raiding the cupboards!
Today I've eaten porridge with a banana, two carrots, lentil soup & two slices of bread for lunch, a nectarine & am now about to have pasta & smoked salmon. I walked 2km and have done the Davina 15 cardio & legs (although watched some of the legs as it was the first time I've done it).
Wobbly - what is the recipe for your banana pancakes please?
Winstons - I did WW after DC1 and was ebf and was allowed an extra 500cal a day. I don't think you're allowed to start with them until the baby is 8 weeks old.

OctopusArmEnvy · 04/09/2015 10:11

Weigh in day for me...
Starting weight : 154lb
Today's weight : 152lb
Total lost so far : 2lb
Target weight : 130lb
I think the 2lb is all down to my one fast day and all the walking to and from school as I haven't been great at eating this week!
Xx

margaritasbythesea · 04/09/2015 10:47

today's weight: 147lbs
target weight: 134lbs

I am not going to buy any wine, so I won't have it to drink. Plan.

ThatsNotMyHouseItIsTooClean · 04/09/2015 11:43

Fast day today & I am starving! 50 minutes until lunchtime. Out tonight but am driving so I will stick to one G&slimlineT.
Why oh why don't I have a higher metabolism?!!
Good loss Octopus

Miloarmadillo1 · 04/09/2015 13:32

winston I did SW whilst BF, you get additional 'healthy extras' (calcium foods) and they encourage you to take your full syns. I've also done MFP (different baby) and eaten my 'maintenance calories' without allowing anything for BF. A 500 cal a day deficit should give you about a 1lb a week loss. I wouldn't go below 1500 cals a day BF, you'll keel over ( or baby will lose weight). I'm still feeding DD 15m but only twice a day so I think I'll have to disallow that as extra help with weightloss.

Milo how are you getting on? Are you back at work yet? Good luck with the fast day ThatsNot Wow Octopus

Today 122lbs Target 117lbs I am very short - no weekly 2lb losses for me sadly. My trusted method of slow and steady will take me to December to get near target.

Grange · 05/09/2015 09:23

Had friends round for a birthday dinner last night. Had one small glass of wine instead of a bottle Shock Felt very good about that and even better this morning!

Miloarmadillo1 · 05/09/2015 13:22

sitoff I did my first day back yesterday and it was a long one (12 hours) I was exhausted when I got home and ate badly, but I've done ok the rest of the week so hoping for a lb off tomorrow.

Effic · 05/09/2015 13:32

Hi
Can I join too please?
Had my first holiday in 3 years since divorce - two glorious weeks in the sunshine, fab food & drink - BUT I've put on 8lb :( and the staff room is full of 100 of boxes of chocolates from kind end of year pressies.

I've never really done any exercise - my ds wants to get fitter for rugby season after summer spent playing cricket (not a lot of moving!) so we've decided we're going to go running together! Off to buy trainers and a sports bra today. We start Monday - Eck!

Effic · 05/09/2015 13:34

Forgot - weight 11.12.
Target 11.04 by half term so 7 weeks to lose 8lb.

Sitoff · 05/09/2015 17:30

grange every night this week there has been a reason for me to drink a glass of wine - and again tonight. I will see how my weigh in goes next week and decide if I need to banish it but it is so hard!
milo well done on the first day - as you say hope the efforts of the week as a whole are reflected in your weigh-in.
Hello effic I am exercise phobic - all I can manage is walking.
Not great eating today - breakfast muesli ok but pizza for lunch and out this evening - hope there is fish and veg on the menu.

firefly78 · 06/09/2015 16:12
