Is anyone going to diet after Easter? Let's aim for our summer holidays!

Hello I'm on holiday at the moment and doing a lot of eating in pubs and cafes. I was 11st 4, so at 5ft 4 very over weight.

So I've decided that after Easter I'm back on the diet wagon for next term. I want to drop 2 dress sizes before the summer holidays. Anyone want to join me?

Oh and looking at this thread has just stopped me munching on cheese and chorizo!

FatherHenderson · 09/04/2015 21:58

Think of how nice the chorizo will be in Spain though!

I have started and so far I've lost 2 lbs. exercise will start a week on Tuesday!

Starting on Monday. 5'3 and 12.10 here. Absolutely horrified as to how that happened. Holiday exactly 3 months today and my aim for that is to be down at least a stone if not more.
My plan is mfp strictly during the week then a little more relaxed at weekends.

Good Luck to us all - fat summers are awful.

Toomuch2young · 10/04/2015 08:49

Fab fatherhenderson, great start.
Iv lost 0.5 kg in 6 days am so happy!
Just cut out puddings, snacked on fruit instead of choc or crisps. Now to try building up the exercise over the weekend.

lucylou1977 · 10/04/2015 12:55

Well done on everyone's weight losses so far! I was pleasantly surprised that the scale said 11st 5.25lbs this morning, which is the lowest I've been in goodness knows how long. I'd loved to get below 11 stone before my holiday in June - it's 8 weeks away so totally doable. I really don't like my figure at the moment, particularly my thighs because they're so wobbly and cellulitey. I must try to go running again - it's great for your legs and would also help with my wobbly 'mum tum'.
I totally agree about MFP fatherhenderson*

lucylou1977 · 10/04/2015 13:00

MFP can be such an eye opener, can't it? Even when I'm being 'good' I can easily rack up 2,000 calories a day! I dread to think how many calories I'd eat on a chocolate binge. It can be a pain inputting everything (especially since the app is glitchy on my ancient phone) but definitely makes you accountable for what you eat. I lost 20lbs using MFP before I fell pregnant too so I know it works.

Toomuch2young · 10/04/2015 14:14

Yes MFP is brilliant! Really got into it this week. The warm weather just gives me so much more incentive. Cold = lasying around eating comfort food for me. Warm = fruit and fresh air! So good time to get into a healthier routine.

SpangleMaker · 10/04/2015 22:58

Great start FatherHenderson!

I ought to do MFP again. I might start again when I sort my phone situation out - I dropped it down a toilet today Blush

Last time I struggled to stick with it but it did show me my meals were ok in general, but it was all the snacking that was doing the damage. So that's my initial plan - no snacks. I've stuck to that the last few days but today's meals included a beer & panini while out and Chinese and wine this evening - not so great! I think I am definitely going to find this easier when school starts back and we're back in a routine.

Feenie · 10/04/2015 23:03

What's MFP?

Nocarbs · 10/04/2015 23:11

I join these threads year after year and never stay! But trust me, (said that before) I'm staying!

I was 11.3 pre Easter week-now 11.7! Gulp

I'm 5ft 5 and ready to do this.

Aiming for just under 11 by May half term. Small steps!

And I would love to end up 10-10.7 but haven't been there in a good few years!

Nocarbs · 10/04/2015 23:12

Feenie
MFP is an app, my fitness pal. Basically a good/exercise/calorie/weight tracker. Really helpful! I must get some friends on there, that'll help me but will need to work out how to do that.

Feenie · 10/04/2015 23:14

Ah, thank you, I know that one.

FatherHenderson · 10/04/2015 23:14

Well, I've had a curry tonight, and am going out for dinner tomorrow at a lovely restaurant, so am not planning on having a small green salad, so next week will be a week of self loathing denial.

Can I join?

I've ballooned this year. I'm 5ft 8 and normally a size 12/14 which I'm happy with, but I've put on a good stone and a half (probably more but I'm too scared to check to be honest) and weigh somewhere near 12.7st. I'm beyond my comfort zone and totally want to stop over-eating and drinking so much.

Soooo unhappy Sad

SpangleMaker · 11/04/2015 07:27

Glittermud I'm with you on being out of my comfort zone. I have never been skinny - I have an hourglass figure and always had large arse and thighs no matter what, but now it's going on around my waist too. I know I'm unhappy about it because I've been thinking of organising a reunion with some old friends but keep putting it off because I don't want them to see me and think "wow she's put on weight". I know they would be happy to see me and not judge but it's brought into focus how I think about myself.

Melon for breakfast this morning, and lots of coffee. Snotty DD has had me awake in the night and then up at 6. Yawn!

superbaghag · 11/04/2015 10:31

Hi!

Joining in :)

I'm 10st 11 and 5ft 6 and normally comfortable at 9st 8. Have been using MFP for 3 weeks already and not getting good losses. Got to keep going as I want to be able to wear my clothes again and not just keep washing the only pair of trousers that fit me on a daily basis.

CrockedPot · 11/04/2015 17:12

Is anyone on a MFP group? I am friendless on there and think it could be motivating to check in daily with others.

MercuryRising · 12/04/2015 13:41

So I was weighed on Tuesday and gained 1.5 pounds. Which could have been worse. I have walked a lot over the last 3 days so I am hoping that will help. My current weight is 12.2 but I am aiming to be 11.7 by half term. It will take some determination but Im up for the challengeSmile

bakingtins · 12/04/2015 21:45

Can I join? I'm ready to get back on the wagon...
I've been on a few weight loss threads since having my DD last May and have got down from 11st3 to about 9 and a half. She has been v unwell and in and out of hospital since January and I lost all motivation to eat well or exercise, and back to my comfort eating in the evenings. I still feel a bit flabby at my current weight so would like to get down to 9 stone and tone up before my summer holiday with skinny SILs. I have a 12 week DVD that I started and never completed, and I'm going to wear my Fitbit and track using MFP. My older kids are back to school tomorrow so it's back to school runs. New term, new start. I'll weigh in tomorrow.

SpangleMaker · 13/04/2015 09:45

Baking hope your DD is better now.

68.5kg this morning, same as last Thursday but I've had a challenging weekend from a weight loss pov with two pub lunches, take away and family buffet so I'm ok with that.

I've decided my target is 61kg by my holiday in 3rd week of August. Need to work out some interim targets to check I'm on track and get back into the gym habit.

FatherHenderson · 13/04/2015 10:15

Hope your DD is on the mend Baking.

Well.... After the weekend I have put everything back on! Still I did drink like a fish and eat chips on the beach so I'm not surprised.

Had breakfast ages ago, is it like lunchtime yet?

Am climbing back on the wagon. If I can get my enormous thighs up there Grin

Im still in but had unexedcted visitor this week so start Monday. Held a nearly two stone baby today, gave me an idea of how much excess Im carrying!

Nocarbs · 17/04/2015 21:50

I'm here too but have done nothing but eat out/socialise arghhh!
Work from Tuesday, that'll get me back towing the line lol!

I will be 11st or less by the May half term. Then I'll tackle the next stone after!

SpangleMaker · 20/04/2015 07:00

67.5kg this morning, 1kg down Smile

Some of this may be because it was totm last weekend but a loss is a loss! Back to normal routine this week so it should be easier to have more control over my meals.
