Since I want somewhere to track my progress I'm gonna do it here and have it act as a support thread for anyone else who wants to join me - because it certainly feels daunting and we can use all the help we can get!

I am 5 foot nothing and post DS (almost 6 months) I weigh (as of this morning) 95.2kg which I believe is around 14.5stone, but I avoid using st and lbs as I find it triggering. I would like to be back down to my pre-baby weight of circa 80kg by BiL's wedding in June. So...

HippyJess
SW: 95.2kg
GW1: 80kg (June)
GW2: 68kg (September)
UGW: 58kg (March 2016)

Short Term Goal: Do Davina's 15 Minute Fit every day for a week, starting today. I did it, and some of the easy versions were hard :( which is why I need to keep going.

Hope someone out there will want to join me! Hoping to post once a day to keep myself on track :) now off I go to make myself an omelette and veggies for lunch!

vicki my mother does that. She's very slim but joins slimming clubs (I think) to gloat at the overweight people.

LondonHuffyPuffy · 26/06/2015 11:10

Blush oops sorry! I read it as though you had met your FGW. But still, 12lb in less than a month is awesome.

vicki - It is so not the same, but would a banana help if you have a sweet craving? a v small banana is only about 70 calories. I have one for breakfast.

I would also have a problem with weighing in against v slim people but I guess they can't discriminate... plus they want the subscription £££! I think I've said before that I wouldn't be able to cope with group weigh ins full stop. Would drive me straight out the door if I had to line up alongside v slim people!

I think you've misread, Huffy. Downtown has lost 12lbs, I think. Which is still mighty impressive - and something to be proud of - but not supernatural.

Vicki - 1.5 is still a good loss. But it does get harder, and not just psychologically. Cruelly, the smaller you get, this less food your body needs to fuel it. So, to get the same sort of results you have to eat even less, or exercise more. It's harsh.

I can see that the already slim but wanting to be slimmer newbies would be off-putting, but they won't be around for long.

I can't eat any less, I don't think, so I've really upped my activity level for the past couple of weeks. I know I'm lucky to have the time and opportunities to do so. So, I've lost 3lbs this week. Don't think I can do much more, so I'm pleased.

pippistrelle · 26/06/2015 12:19

Doh, sorry. I was posting at the bottom of the last page rather than at the end of the thread. That's lack of chocolate interfering with my brain chemistry... Just ignore me, Huffy.

vickibee · 26/06/2015 12:24

great news Pippi, 3 pound is fab

I will have to try harder but I am hungry a lot of the time now, I don't see where to reduce. I have two ryvitas with extra light cheese triangels and olives for lunch, not much 150 calories and a light yogurt 90 calories.I will be starving by tea time!!!!!
Huffy - the weigh in area is private and kind of screened off but it is embarrassing lining up with the skinny folk. They talk loud enough so you know their weights - 8 stone 5 and 5 feet 10? WTF

vickibee · 26/06/2015 12:25

wonder what that poster said to get it deleted???

pippistrelle · 26/06/2015 12:27

to gloat at the overweight people.

Really, Downtown? I imagine your relationship might be a little strained at times. Although, your mother might have her own skewed issues with weight/food.

pippistrelle · 26/06/2015 12:30

I was hoping they'd just posted in the wrong place, and asked for it to be deleted, vicki. Otherwise, spamming.

pippistrelle · 26/06/2015 12:35

8 stone 5 and 5 feet 10? WTF

Bloody hell. That's underweight surely? That person has no business at WW and WW should be telling them so, for their health.

LondonHuffyPuffy · 26/06/2015 13:33

nice work, pippi! How many calories are you doing each day?

Agreed re WW policy... they should not allow people who don't need to lose weight to join a class, but they do and they won't change... at the end of the day it's not in their financial interest to turn anyone away. SW are the same.

vicki - that lunch wouldn't fill me up either. This lunchtime I had an Itsu chicken noodle soup which is filling and pretty healthy, for 243 calories. I usually have a big salad with some sort of protein, but was being lazy today so went to Itsu.

That poster has been deleted on another thread. Probably spam

Yes, yes and yes Grin

vickibee · 26/06/2015 13:48

The leader said that some people have less of a weight loss journey than others and we should welcome all despite them appearing slim, she only refuses people if their bmi is less than 18, surely that is bordering on an eating disorder

DowntownFunk · 26/06/2015 13:54

Of course they don't refuse anybody. The slimming companies want the money. I'm really against slimming clubs in general. The shit that is in Weightwatchers branded food is grim.

IMO slimming clubs rely on people putting all the weight back on again or losing a pound one week then gaining it the next when they've been "bad".

I have previously been a member of 3 different clubs and I think they've contributed to my weight issues today.

pippistrelle · 26/06/2015 14:01

That person's BMI is 16.8.

I don't eat more than 1,200 calories a day. And, to be honest, I'm usually significantly under that - probably averaging about 850. I know it sounds radical but I'm not a tall person, and my basal metabolic rate is, apparently, 1299 calories. That doesn't leave me a lot of room to manoeuvre when it comes to weight loss.

pippistrelle · 26/06/2015 14:04

I eat a LOT of salad. And protein. Just not many carbs.

NoahVale · 27/06/2015 08:57

hi, can I join, I put on weight whilst off sick quite recently.
MFP was suggested on here recently, which I have been logging.
my downfall I can see is tea and coffee, which I drink a lot of, i cant imagine life without my tea and coffee.

I cant afford slimming world or anything. Have tried low but imagine I am perhaps going high fat, I love feta and sun dried tomatoes and olives and eat those for lunch with a miniscule amount of pasta or rice or new potatoes and lettuce. Hey even fruit is calorific.

NoahVale · 27/06/2015 08:57

*low carbs

vickibee · 27/06/2015 16:05

Welcome Noshvale, I love olives and feta too , I was told to make sure they are not in oil, we are going to Greece soon and I can't wait for the Greek salads yummy. I will pile on the pounds no doubt on the all inclusive holiday.

siiiiiiiiigh · 27/06/2015 20:11

Me too, please.

SW: 14.7
CW: about 13.10ish
GW: size 14.

I've stopped weighing/measuring anything. It just messes with my head, so, instead, am just trying to exercise more, eat better (wine at weekends) and develop good habits.

I saw on MN ages ago NSV - "non scale victories". So far I have - less of a belly overhang, a collarbone and I can run 5k. I cycled to work too - 14miles round trip.

Motivation is hard - I've been fat all my fat life. But, I'm now nearly 45 and have high blood pressure and all that comes with being too fat. Would quite like to not have a stroke.

Just need to keep going.

So, can I be in your gang?
x

LondonHuffyPuffy · 27/06/2015 20:26

Hello Noah, mumslife and siiiiiiigh, welcome to this lovely gang.

Re feta and olives - since both are so flavoursome, you can have a massive salad with a small amount of each for flavour. One of my favourite meals. Makes 1200 calories a day much more achievable if you have tons of salad or veg with a small portion of tastiness.

I too have been fat all my life and concerned about my health now that I'm in my 40s. I'm determined that this time I am making long-term changes. Now or never.

pippistrelle · 27/06/2015 20:41

Hello. And welcome. It definitely feels like the more the merrier. I hadn't thought of us as a gang, more like a loose collective...

mumslife (not 'mudslide' as my autocorrect wants to call you!) - I too had the unpleasant experience of new scales making me 7lbs heavier. Sadly, they were accurate. But I'm now out the other side of that, if you see what I mean. You will be soon too.

siiiiigh (how many i's?) - those are pretty impressive non-scale victories.

Motivation is hard. But victories of any sort certainly help.

LondonHuffyPuffy · 27/06/2015 20:58

Yy to NSVs. Mine today was chucking out all my size 18 knickers. Have replaced them with 8 pairs of cheap Tesco size 16s which I hope to be able to replace in about 6 weeks Smile

pippistrelle · 27/06/2015 21:25

Hurrah for new knicks! (Now there's a sentence you don't type much.)

My non scale victories are mostly fitting into clothes that have been stashed in those vacuum bag things for flippin' years. I tried on a skirt that I last wore before I was pregnant - a teensy bit tight, but nearly there. When I tell you that my 'baby' had her tenth birthday party today, you'll appreciate how long I've been carrying this baby weight around. I just didn't seem to have the wherewithal to do anything about it before. Although I tried - loads of times. I can't put my finger on why it's different this time, but I know it is.
