Hi, I started on 1st Jan at 18st 10lbs and I have so much to lose, it would be lovely to share my journey with others who have over 6 stones to lose.

I know it's going to be a really long slog and I'll need help staying on the straight and narrow. I have to do it this year, no excuses!

So far I have lost 8.4lbs in first 11 days, but that seems tiny when I've got nearly nine stones to lose altogether. My goal is 10st.

Anyone out there? All buddies welcome Grin

Rumgy, not frightened at all. I was in bridlington which is pretty quiet and our village has almost no crime at all. I don't envy you going to your school reunion, I'm not sure I'd want to go.

We're home and DH is in bed because he isn't well so I've done another two dog walks and now walked 17000 steps today.

Mrsstevejones · 01/02/2015 21:42

My word Mrsp you shall be a waif in no time with all this walking! Doesnt it make you starving? I went swimming the other day and i nearly gnawed my arm off in the car on the way home.

I am setting myself a little goal this week -to do the plank every day and see how much i improve. I tried on one of my ye old faithful tops and whilst i am def looking slimmer front on, sideways i still looked rather ball like. The plank will help this.

I have my students arrive after midnight tonight, so tomorrow morning i have a four mile work - whilst we havent had any snow its going to be freezing and i will have DS in the pram - so it will be quick!. So on the plus side that will start the weeks exercise off well!!

Its weigh in day tomorrow, fingers crossed for a BIG number!

Mrsstevejones · 02/02/2015 10:38

2lbs up. Fuming but i am def slimmer so i have decided the scales are lying.
I am back to the weight i started bootcamp on the 19th, really disheartening but i have lost 1 inch off of my tummy and even hubby said i had lost weight.

ARRGGHHH!!!

flameprincess · 02/02/2015 17:04

Mrsstevejones oh no! Thank heavens you are measuring yourself else that could be really demoralising. Is aunt flo due at all? Could it be water retention?

Mrsstevejones · 02/02/2015 17:16

No idea but i am def slimmer, my clothes fit better, my double chin is less and i feel so much better when i dont eat carbs so def wont be giving up. Not TOTM yet but i have been doing this roughly since xmas so it might be a week 4 stall. Hoping for a big drop next week to make up for it - its just frustrating when i have been sticking to the rules religiously.

Hope everyone is doing better

Mrsstevejones · 02/02/2015 20:22

I need strenght tonight - for the first time my resolve is seriously lacking. My lovely french students have brought me galettes and salted caramel spread, i have a massive stash in the kitchen and its all calling me. Last year when i low carbed i binned it (terrible i know but better than eating it) or gave it to hubby to take into work. I have just eaten four massive spoonfuls of peanut butter but on the plus side its now all gone and i feel a bit sick!!

I knew i shouldnt start weighing myself until i was further down the road.

How is everyone doing this evening??

MrsPnut · 02/02/2015 20:43

I am starving tonight, I might have a rye crispbread with a cheese triangle to stave it off.

I've walked the dog twice today in Arctic conditions and now it's snowing. I'm glad I brought my laptop home tonight.

Mrsstevejones · 02/02/2015 20:48

Mrspnut - i am sure the cold weather is making it harder, despite heating being on nearly constantly. If it were me i would have cheese and pepperoni or full fat yoghurt. I love crispbreads and cant stop at one!

No snow here, a little bit jealous and would love a dog! What sort do you have?

MrsPnut · 02/02/2015 20:57

We have a Labrador collie cross, she's an old lady now but she still leaps about when you get the lead out.

I've had 2 crispbreads and I'm ok now, they were the multi seeded budgie style ones with some laughing cow blue cheese spread on.

I'm practically sitting on top of the radiator because I'm so cold.

Macloveswill · 02/02/2015 22:01

Aww....Mrs, don't worry about being 2lbs up, honestly I weigh every day and some days for no random reason I weigh more. It's annoying, but you've stuck to it do your body has to be burning fat. You've DEFINITELY lost weight! Be strong Smile just keep chanting 'slim by Christmas'. Though I'm sure your comedy genius husband can come up with a better line, bless him Grin

I'm doing ok, but really wanting time to speed up and it be Christmas already! I keep thinking about different ways to keep my head in the game. Silly things like working out the percentage of what I've lost compared with what I have to lose. And how much I'll have to lose each month, week, day, nanosecond Grinsad? Yes, but it seems to help me, I write down my weight every day too, keeping a running total lost log.

Hope everyone's doing ok. MrsPnut, you're a dog walking demon, well done you!

And Rumgy, I feel for you about the reunion, it's a difficult thing to do when you're not totally content with how you look. Just remember that the people who count will be interested in more than your dress size.

Flame is it your Harvester thing tomorrow? Looking forward to hearing how you get on.

Onwards and downwards for all of us on this very cold February day (snowing here).

OP posts:
flameprincess · 02/02/2015 22:34

Yes it's tomorrow! Dreading it, been soo hungry today. I think this month will be harder for us all than last month. Afterall its so easy to be all 'New Year New Start' in January when everyone else is on the bandwagon - now comes the real test of willpower.

Macloveswill · 02/02/2015 23:21

I think you're right Flame....feb will be tougher for all of us. It's like it'll begin to dawn on us that it's no longer a novelty, but has to become a way of life. That's quite hard to get your head around, especially at social events (previously known as 'just this once' events).

It's staying determined I guess, because once we cheat, it's even easier to cheat the next time...then all the lines blur and just this once becomes the norm.

We can do this!

Macloveswill · 03/02/2015 17:10

Has everyone had a good day? I've had a pretty good one, (no exercise though, as I've picked up a stinky cold...grr!). Oh, apart from a scary moment when my car skidded all over the road in the snow....eek! No other cars around for me to hit thank goodness and just escaped ruining someone's lawn Shock

I had kippers with butter for breakfast and just had a lovely early dinner of chicken with a pancetta, mushroom, red onion and double cream sauce. But for the first time in ages I was really craving something sweet for pudding. I ended up having Greek yog and berries and feel ok now. But anyone have any good LC pudding suggestions apart from cheese or yog/cream with berries?

OP posts:
Mrsstevejones · 03/02/2015 20:33

Sorry Mac, i dont do puddings (when lc -ing). For a rare treat in height of summer i have ff yog with cream and 5 strawberries - usually on a weekend.
There are great choc type recipes which use avocado and cocaoa (sp) and things like almonds but might workout quite carby - pinterest paelo boards would be worth a shot.

Went to bed grumpy because i wouldnt allow myself the biscuits but woke up happy that my willpower won the day!!!

I have been really really missing marmite - i cant think of a low carb way to eat it and licking it off of the spoon is a step to far even for me. I bought marmite cheeses - in a little stringy bag from tescos and yum - they satisfied that itch.

Feb will def be more of a challenge with the newness gone -i have my birthday in 6 weeks to focus on. Although hubby will be on a work trip - boo ho. Def agree with the slippery slope thing, i will try to be super strict for as long as possible.

Mac, Hope you get better.

I have had a good day today and feeling much more positive although those bloody biscuits are still calling me!

Mrsstevejones · 03/02/2015 20:50

Just done the plank challenge 1st round 30 secs - shocking!! pre babies and c secs i could do nearer 2 mins.
2nd round - 17 secs

I will be interested to see what it is at the end of the month

flameprincess · 03/02/2015 20:54

Harvester went well, had the spitroast chicken with chips but filled up at the salad bar then styled out being too full to eat my chips. Nobody batted an eyelid!

I am finding it difficult too at the moment, desperately want some chocolate tonight but that was one of my downfalls, snacking late at night. I don't think the cold weather is helping us at the moment is it.

flameprincess · 03/02/2015 20:56

Mrsstevejones what is the plank challenge exactly? Do you just hold position for as long as possible and do you repeat it or just try once a day?

MrsPnut · 03/02/2015 21:08

Evening, I am cold, tired and fed up. I want to snack and I am determined not to.

Well done on your restraint flame.
It's my birthday in just over 4 weeks and I am going to be 39, it's my kick up the arse so I am not fat for my 40th.

Mac, eek scary. We live on a little lane that is like an ice rink tonight. The snow that fell yesterday and this morning has melted slightly and now refrozen. That'll be fun in the morning trying to get to work.
I have an appointment for a colposcopy in the morning, after some abnormal cells on my last smear. Just what I need when I am trying to lose weight.

Mrsstevejones · 03/02/2015 21:59

Mrspnut, i had one of those a few years ago, it was fine not much worse than a smear to be fair - sending sympathies though not pleasant.

Plank challenge basically involves holding a plank position for as long as poss whilst hubby times me on his mobile. He did 1min 17. We do it three times in a row usually. It gets quite competitive! I am going to try and do this every night for the month. Its great for pulling in your tummy muscles, my pilates teacher said its the best thing for women who have had babies, much better than sit ups.

Boredom snacking is my downfall, so i had a coffee with cream and loads of water so all the trips to the loo gives me something to do!! That and coming on here. I am however supposed to be doing my spanish homework.

Well done flame on resisting the chips. I did chips tonight for my students ( they wont eat any veg at all it seems!) and i didnt even pinch one, i felt quite pleased with myself.

Macloveswill · 03/02/2015 22:03

Well done Mrs for resisting! And for planking!! Don't think I could even make it into a plank at the moment, never mind hold it for any length of time!

Flame....you rocked it at the harvester! Yay! Hope the skinnies didn't try and bore you about their diets!

MrsPnut, hope your procedure goes ok tom, legs up in stirrups is not the nicest position surrounded with strangers is it? I went through some trouble in that area and had to have a little op many moons ago and really didn't like it. But needs must and better to be checked. And hope ice not too slippery for your trip!

Think we're all finding it tough this week aren't we. Gotta just keep on keeping on and soon it will be spring and we'll be wearing smaller clothes. Perhaps we should cheer ourselves up by looking at a few of the fashion blogs and spotting some cool (smaller than we're wearing now) things to save up for...I might try that.

I love dreaming about all the clothes I'll be able to wear Smile

Mrsstevejones · 03/02/2015 23:12

Go on Mac, you might surprise yourself - i had a c sec less than a year ago so i was quite pleased, i hope to be nearer 2 mins by the end of the month - fingers crossed. Goannn!!!!

Macloveswill · 04/02/2015 12:31

You know what seeing as you've kindly challenged me (thanks Mrs!) I will give it a go tomorrow morning. Is the technique on YouTube?

OP posts:
Mrsstevejones · 04/02/2015 12:55

Ah well done Mac, what a sport!! Youtube or i think you can get a mobile app.

Mrsstevejones · 04/02/2015 17:19

Had a quick go at lunchtime at the plank challenge and managed 32 secs, which is a teeny tiny improvement.

B- BPC
L- can of tuna in oil with mayo wrapped up in romaine lettuce leaves
S- 5 slices of pepperoni, with cheese, mayo and harissa paste
D- Green smoothie

Swapped my meals around today as i am off to college and there isnt enough time for me to eat and get everyone else fed. They are having chicken and chorizo casserole with rice for the carb lovers and broccoli and green beans.

Loads and loads of water and 1 coffee with cream.

Still loving my new hair and today i managed to style it right - i find it takes a few days to get to grips with it.

Also new wardrobe doors arrived today so i am very excited - hubby has the job of putting them up tonight - very excited. Collect my new picture tomorrow so that will be the finishing touch for my bedroom so after 4 years i will finally have a finished bedroom. Will give the room a big spring clean tomorrow and do jobs i have avoided such as clean windows. Yay.

MrsPnut · 04/02/2015 19:43

Evening, I survived the hospital and they couldn't find any abnormal cells so I escaped any treatment and will be recalled as normal for a smear in 3 years.

I'm freezing tonight and have the fire lit, I am also dealing with a shitty situation not of my making - both of which are making me want to stuff my face even though I've not long had dinner.
