The thread has disappeared seemingly replaced by a biscuit!

Hello you lot!
First fast day for about 3 weeks today. Feck, it's grim! In such a bad mood, poor kids wondering what's up!
Thought I would look at the old thread see what you all up to, and glad to see some old faces around.
Haven't weighed, as can't face it, but would suspect a 5 lb gain over christmas..... And before christmas was still around 4 or 5 up on all time lowest. Ah well.
Got some turkey soup out of freezer which is just dullsville, think I should have at least bough some posh low ready meal as would have made it easier.
sDP, I soooo should join you on the shred, are you like me and just dread the actual getting changed into the kit part, as much as doing the darn thing? Grin

SylvDP · 05/01/2015 19:44

I'm kind of dreading the whole procedure Dinky. I'm especially not looking forward to aching the next day and having to do it again and again.

It's got to be done though, there is no other way around it.

Just think of all the super clothes we will be able to fit into thoughGrin

DoubleMum · 05/01/2015 19:45

Chiefs you're here!!!
Bit bizarre I couldn't find my own thread.
I have sinned. A lot.
I had to add 5lbs to my mfp total, and surprised it wasn't more actually. I don't deserve to have only put on 5 lbs.
Haven't been great today either, but tomorrow I have my GP referral gym appointment which is exceedingly scary. Also it's a mum from school doing it which might be even worse. I have prepared by rifling through my wardrobe and finding some jogging pants that I didn't even realise I had, they still had the label attached.
So I'm back. And I simply must lose this fat.

I sense some fighting spirit on this thread. I reckon this year we will actually finally crack this once and for all.

Go Chiefs!!!

RandallFloyd · 05/01/2015 20:54

Double!! Dinky!!
Yay!

Bloody hell, I'd be chuffed to mint balls if I'd only put on 5lbs.
I am a weight-gaining machine when I get going.

Strength in numbers though, Chiefs. We can do it!

Good luck for tomorrow, Double. Does sound scary but the sort of scary that could definitely work!

Dinkydoos · 05/01/2015 21:37

Good luck tomorrow double!
Have just gone back into mfp after long absence. Only way really to stop overheating on non fast days. But def most imp thing chiefs, is no matter if we fail one one day, we just have to move on and not throw towel in. It's a marathon not a sprint, innit?! Grin

Applesnotcakes · 06/01/2015 11:47

Loving the fighting talk on here - pom poms 'n all.

I'm back on MFP too - kept within the target yesterday but developed horrendous headache yesterday afternoon which hasnt gone. My instinct with any ailment is to feed it but am trying not to. I dont think i'm eating so little its headache worthy - 1300 cals yesterday and i had a few Shreddies this morning to see if it would help - but maybe my body's finding the change from continual eating a bit of a shock. Tough.

I am with the Chiefs and they know how to kick arse. We will be thinner and extra lovely - not immediately - I hear you Dinky re the marathon, but come March we will have made progress - with a capital P

SylvDP · 06/01/2015 12:13

Well I haven't shredded.....I know, I know. I decided to enjoy my last day of freedom, do some reading and potter around with no children about. On the plus I haven't had any chocolate and intend to keep to 1200 today, lower if I can. I walked as well.

It is on my 'to do' list, just not today!

Hope the referral was okay Double, that's a big step towards your goal so be proud. Good on you Chief.

Just think back to after last Christmas Chiefs....it took some of us until June (if I remember correctly) to get back here and try to lose weight. Now here we are in JANUARY getting our arses in gear.

Onwards and downwards!

WiseKneeHair · 06/01/2015 19:25

Greetings Chiefs. I think it's about 18 months since I was on one of these threads Blush I'm HappyKite
I got my arse back in gear at the end of October. Weighed same as when I started on MFP, so had put on 26lbs! Ive managed to lose 14 of those, so another 12 to get back to where I was, then another 14, give or take, to get to target.
I love the idea of an arse too small to kick.
Well done on the gym session double
Sylv do we need to kick your arse in the direction of Jillian?
Randall randalling has definitely remained a verb for me. Grin

buzzybuzzybeeshoes · 06/01/2015 22:15

Just checked after a few days to find that everyone is back! Great to see you all. Like Apples I still have far too much shite in the house, but at least it's mostly either unopened, stuff I don't like or that belongs to the kids.

Back at work tomorrow, so am also hoping that food control will be easier there. It wasn't happening at home today. Going to try to stick to around 1600 as I snap and eat everything in sight if I go any lower!

Was back in the pool Sunday night and have booked a couple of 121 lessons to help improve my technique - I'm aiming to swim the length of Windermere, but it might have to be next year rather than this. Did Coniston last year, but Windermere's twice as long and I'm not up to it at the moment - suspect I have to do serious work on my weight and fitness to get there.

buzzybuzzybeeshoes · 06/01/2015 22:18

Double how was the gym referral? Roffled at the troosers with the label still attached - I have a drawer of gym stuff, half of which is too small and has never been worn Blush

Dinkydoos · 06/01/2015 22:44

Hello buzzy wise seems like most of us are back. Wonder where lizzy and tea are???
Night 2 of no wine, v good for me!
Windermere? Swim? >

pinkpanda101 · 06/01/2015 23:27

I'm here! (Name changed) PandaPaws101 on MFP. In two years I have lost 2st and put on1.5. So....it could be worse!

Just gone back on anti-depressants too so I will have to work extra hard to shift this weight Grin

Onwards and downwards, Chiefs!

WiseKneeHair · 07/01/2015 09:10

Swim the length of Windermere? < joins Dinky in a heap on the floor>
I've treated myself to two pairs of yoga pants in the Sweaty Betty sale. They are a size smaller than what I am wearing, but they'll stretch, won't they? Grin

Applesnotcakes · 07/01/2015 09:13

I have a photo of me aged about 13 in my attractive school swimming costume and horrendous hair in Windermere. I remember having to swim a lot because I didnt like putting my feet down into the monsters mud. The idea that you could swim it is v impressive - nice to have a target in mind

I'm meant to be walking the last stage of the Camino de Santiago in May/June - c 100k in 6 days. My friend fancied something challenging for her 50th so 4 of us are doing it. I want to be lighter then as my knees cope so much better.

How's everyone doing food wise? - I've done 2 nights now of no drinking so surely must have lost pounds and pounds

Dinkydoos · 07/01/2015 09:48

apples yes me too have done 2 whole wine free nights in a row !
Surely we are a size 10 now?
The logging on mfp last 2 days has helped food wise tbh. It really focuses your mind on not snacking and how many flipping calories are in stuff... Like toast. Have been cheerfully having 3 slices over christmas but if you put that into mfp and see its cheerful declaration of how many cals that actually is, and then how you need to eat dust for the rest of the day, then it sort of makes you stop and think.
Quorn chilli tonight, bet DP and kids are going to be thrilled..... Grin

Applesnotcakes · 07/01/2015 09:53

Hello Wise, I think you're brave going into Sweaty Betty - they make me feel enormous every time I just walk past the shop window.
And of course they will stretch - but they wont need to will they? - not when we've got arses too small to kick. They'll be baggy I tell you, baggy.

WiseKneeHair · 07/01/2015 10:28

Apple I didn't go into the shop! I bought them from the comfort of my sofa over coffee this morning. Grin
Dinky I do a mean Quorn chilli, we had it last night. DH loves it, too. The DC aren't so keen, but we don't eat with them in the week anyway.
I'm aching today. I have ran three times in the last four days, so feeling very virtuous.
I've also had 3 dry days. I'm working this weekend, so may end up with 12 dry days in a row but will probably have a sneaky G&T on Thursday

Applesnotcakes · 07/01/2015 13:39

Sensible woman, Wise Grin

Applesnotcakes · 07/01/2015 13:41

And I've got book club Thursday - that needs a glass or two otherwise I find everyone a bit weird and lose the power of speech

DoubleMum · 07/01/2015 13:57

Ooh most of us back!! (Which, I suppose, has its good sides and bad sides!)
Am a bit achey today but not too bad considering a solid hour in the gym. Couldn't do the bike as my knees just don't bend enough, but managed everything else. Then went on a big long dog walk which was probably a bit silly, as I needed painkillers to sleep last night and haven't been that bad for ages. But still, no pain no gain as they say. Have just been on a big long dog walk again, and back at the gym tomorrow.
I really need to do a food shop and get some healthy food in the house.

Applesnotcakes · 07/01/2015 15:36

Dinky, ROFL at eating dust - only just noticed that. You're right about MFP - it definitely focusses the mind. I bloody love toast though.

What MFP makes me realise is that I can just about do the calorie limit without too much pain if its just for food - its enough to include a few nice things and not feel too hungry etc but where I come unstuck is the wine calories. I consider half a bottle an abstemious night and that's 300 cals. Do it every night and the diet's up the swanee. I bloody love wine too though.

Still I'm with Randall and Kate Moss. Feeling thinner is amazing when you're used to being fat. I felt so good at 13 stone compared with 16. I can only imagine how wonderful 11 would feel. So I'd like to get there. So I will forego wine most nights.

SylvDP · 07/01/2015 20:34

Wow, look at us all returning to the fold! There's going to be so many slim Chiefs about this yearSmile

Yes, I probably do need a right arse kicking to make me shred. I've got to get into a routine of when to do it now I'm back at work. I think it will have to be early mornings bar my early start days (I get up at 5am on those days and will not be shredding at 4am). Tbh I need to get into the habit of earlier nights and better sleep anyhow so shredding before the kids get up sounds the "best" option.

Sounds like everyone is doing well. I'm finding being back at work easier food wise, plus I'm on my feet most of the day which has to be some form of exercise? 1200 cals was totally doable in the past, I just need to retrain my brain to say yes to bananas and salad and a big no to biscuits.

Well done Double...big steps in the right direction. Just don't overdo it!

I will check back in tomorrow, I'm sure I behave better food wise when I know you guys are around.

Dinkydoos · 07/01/2015 20:48

apples me old chum, a girl after my own heart wine wise!
However I always think wine is good value calorie wise tbh. Half a bottle is 275 ( I tend to favour lower end estimates!) and there's not much food wise that brings me the same bang per buck! Chicken breast and roast low veg used to be my meal if choice to allow me my wine!
Anyway, trying to stick to Friday and Saturdays only at minute, but tis dullsville!
But everyone's doing good, ESP double with all her activity!
I am with you sdp , Still to pick up the shred !!!

Dinkydoos · 07/01/2015 20:49

Oh and wise the quorn chilli ( sort of put into enchiladas ) was all wolfed down by all! Grin
