Slimming world for me. Started end of January and have lost and kept off 2 stone. I have been on two holidays in that time and gained around half a stone on each but it has come off easily again.

iklboo · 19/09/2014 19:31

Slimming World for me too. Lost 5.5 stone since Jan 2013.

MrsBungle · 19/09/2014 19:32

5:2 for me and aiming to only eat1500 calories in the other days. Mostly I didn't stick to 1500 but I watched what I ate closely and used my fitness pal.

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 19/09/2014 19:34

Have lost 2 stone since the end of June, low carbing (under 20g carbs per day). :)

daisydee43 · 19/09/2014 19:37

my fitness pal app. think i might try weightwatchers meals with next pg (not actually go to sessions but i like the ready meals)

daisydee43 · 19/09/2014 19:38

btw kept it off for last 2 years but pg now

KittyandTeal · 19/09/2014 19:38

Myfitnesspal and 3x a week at the gym.

I look better now as a size 12 than I did as a small size 10, and feel better too.

wilkos · 19/09/2014 19:39

Eating less and moving more.

And getting divorced too, pounds have just melted off.

Possibly a bit drastic for most though Wink

BIWI · 19/09/2014 19:40

Low carbing.

BIWI · 19/09/2014 19:41

... and I started going to the gym with a personal trainer twice a week, and took up running - but it was mainly the diet that did it

Slimming World two years ago and so far so good. Taken up swimming and that seems to help, also fast walking the dog (he thinks I do it for him). The SW diet is basically low fat, low sugar, plenty of veg, nothing forbidden as long as you don't go mad. It's a really healthy way of eating and suitable for all the family.

bakingtins · 19/09/2014 19:43

Slimming world, lost 2 stone baby weight in 2010 and kept it off until next pregnancy, now 1 stone down and 1 to go.

InMySpareTime · 19/09/2014 19:47

MyFitnessPal, stopping eating when I wasn't hungry (instead of when I was absolutely stuffed full or when the plate was empty) and lots of walking and cycling.
Balancing any extra food with extra exercise.
I lost 5 1/2 stone, 1/3rd of my body weight, and it's stayed off for 18 months so far.

Totesnamechanged · 19/09/2014 19:49

Spare time that's awesome, well done you.

I'm currently 25lb into a planned 52lb weight loss, started on June 30th.

I hit a bit of a plateau at present, am thinking of low carbing on non gym days, are there any websites/info about which people could point me to please?

BikeRunSki · 19/09/2014 19:52

Slimming World too. 3 stone, 2 years ago. Put half a stone back over the summer, but it's coming off again with SW eating - not going to mtgs again.

saladcreamwitheverything · 19/09/2014 19:53

Weight Loss Resources. It's £6ish a month. Basically you get a calorie allowance and have to log everything you eat and drink plus exercise calories. There's a members forum and lots of stuff to keep you motivated. I lost 3 stone and kept it off til I got pregnant. Gonna use it again to lose the babyweight!

Thistledew · 19/09/2014 19:53

Took up cycling and then triathlon.

I slightly rejigged my portion control as I was already eating healthily, just a bit too much.

Cycling regularly, then adding in cycling to work started to build my fitness, which increased more when I took up triathlon. I shed 3/4 stone this summer over about a month by upping my training and eating no more than 2000 cals.

TipseyTorvey · 19/09/2014 19:54

5:2 and running with a friend. Kept it off until got pg again but will go back to that as soon as I'm out of the crazy new born period again.

RufusTheReindeer · 19/09/2014 19:59

Stone and a half off so far, in January and February I really cut down on my calories and also did a big of a 5:2

My calories were too low but it was the only thing that worked and (apart from my holiday) I've kept it off, I want to lose another 7 lbs this year so I need to pull my finger out and get back on the wagon!!

Heleng1982 · 19/09/2014 20:02

I've lost three stones one January I followed weight watchers and did Jillian micheals 30 day shred three to four times a week. I also ride my bike a lot Smile

TimeForAnotherNameChange · 19/09/2014 20:02

Calorie restriction (1400 per day) mainly through carb reduction and increasing protein, tracking everything on MyFitnessPal, and exercising more (cycling or running, every week day).

Sure I have bad days, and Haribo is my particular kryptonite on days when I'm angry, but what I have managed to change is the woe is me guilt trip after a fall. Now I just shrug and get straight back on the waggon the next day. So far I'm two stone down exactly, in six months. I'd like to lose at least another half stone to ten pounds.

felttippens · 19/09/2014 20:05

I've found a great deal on ww online but not sure if I'd be best just logging everything on mfp and sticking to 1500 cals

It's a minefield my sister has lost weight doing paleo but I'm not that keen on meat !

HicDraconis · 19/09/2014 20:06

MyFitnessPal for tracking intake plus low carbing has got me 12kg down. I have 5kg to go and seem to have plateaued, thinking of adding in 5:2 as well to see if it jump starts me again!

Plus increasing my exercise massively - from none to several sessions of martial arts a week.

KateShmate · 19/09/2014 20:16

Doing Slim fast and then swapping 200kcal shakes for 200kcal meal with better nutritional value. Still occasionally have a shake, and they've helped so much to keep me on track. Lost almost 2.5 stone since beginning of May.
