How can I lose 10lbs before my holiday on, er, Monday?

In a panic. Was meant to start diet in May but one thing (or rather, one pizza) led to another and now I've got less than a week.

I'm 5'6" and look great at 9st 7. This morning I was 10st 11! Shiiiiiiiit!

What can I do? I really REALLY need to crash some of this off. I don't care if it's unhealthy, it's only for a few days and I can do it properly when I get home.

Any and all ideas MASSIVELY gratefully received. What are your tried and tested tricks? Thank you!

Milk and banana diet... recommended for 5 days/loss of 5lbs
6 bananas
3 glasses of skimmed milk

This is the entire consumption for the day - eat at intervals when you feel like it. If necessary, add 2 cups of black unsweetened coffee.

Egg and grapefruit diet... 3 days/loss of 3lbs

Breakfast: 1/2 grapefruit
1 hard boiled egg
1 slice wholewheat bread
Black coffee or lemon tea

Lunch: 1/2 grapefruit
2 eggs, any way but not fried, best if hard-boiled
Black coffee or lemon tea

Dinner: 1/2 grapefruit
2 eggs any way but not fried
Black coffee or lemon tea

The drinker's diet... 7 days/loss of 5lbs

Breakfast: 1 hard boiled egg
1 portion of cottage cheese
Black coffee or lemon tea

Lunch: Up to 5oz (150g) white fish - not fried
1 small green salad or 1 portion green vegetable
2 drinks - Whiskey, gin, vodka or white wine!

Dinner: Up to 5 oz (150g) lean beef or chicken
1 small green salad
1oz (30g) hard cheese
2 drinks - Whiskey, gin, vodka or white wine
Black coffee or lemon tea.

Is anyone tempted to try one of these diets? :o

I have that booklet.
My mother gave it to me.

She also has a gem of a diet where breakfast is water with lemon juice and soy flour.
She swears by it.

She loves me, my mum.

I'm on my second week of Atkins now and plan to stay on it for a month in total and then try Scarsdale. Do you think the carbs that are part of Scarsdale will mean I'll put it on again?

And OP you better have wifi on holiday. Where will we be without your excellent crash diet advice if you decide to go sauntering off on holiday? We'll all end up eating proper food. And then we'll all end up fat.

I tried Atkins once, only lasted a few days as I felt so ill! At the moment I am back on SW after a gap of about 14 months during which I calorie counted, ran 3-4 times a week and didn't lose anything else at all. Then I went back to work and put 2 stone back on.

So, I'm blaming work for it all.

Doing ok so far toast for bfast and fruit for lunch was going to have a biscuit but discovered the madthings have already eaten them all! So they saved me :)

Doing an online order, is fresh grapefruit better than tinned? Or does it not matter?

Quite fancy the eggs and wine diet. Particularly the wine part.

I'm not keen on eggs. Could I swop them for crisps do you think? Grin

Fucking hell I am starving, looking forward to my boiled eggs.., not so sure about the grapefruit but hey ho.

Shall go for a run once madthings are in bed.

At least I don't have to worry about snacking ad until Tesco order gets here tomorrow eve there is nothing to snack on and other than snacks for the madthings my shopping is looking virtuous with lots salad and fruit.

Thank you WhatsGoingOnEh. I am due on in 4 days but I am not sure it makes a difference as I don't lose any weight by the time it is over and why would I when I am getting rid of what I have been carrying around for a month? Confused.

Kids so spectacularly bad at PIL that I threatened to smack DD's face. I never would but I don't think MIL has calmed down yet.

Just weighed myself - exactly the same as this morning. I am hoping that means I will be less tomorrow Confused.

My period is due in a few days as well, I normally put on weight in the week before but haven't this time! Still feel bloated though. So hoping for a good loss after my period.

That drinkers' diet looks BRILLIANT. I could totally follow that on holiday. I need to bring weighing scales for my good and for me. (Is that a bit obsessive?) it's going to be a v boozy holiday I fervently hope probably.

I just fucked up. Making that sodding fruit cake, I must have "tested" Blush about 3tbsp of the glorious, marg, brown sugar, eggy and floury mixture. I was licking the spoons and everything. That'll totally fuck it all up, trust me. I'll be 10 9 again tomorrow. Arse!

5madthings, fresh grapefruit is much better than tinned. If you must have tinned (which I do, it's just nicer) choose one in 'natural juice'. Not the lovely syrup. Mmmm, syrup...

I used up all the bloody eggs in that bastard cake, too. So for dinner tonight, I either have steak, a tin of tuna, or a glass of water.

theDietStartsTomoz - no, I don't think the carby bits of Scarsdale will affect your Atkins loss. It's v low calorie, you'll be fine.

Ok I have a fresh grapefruit and ordered tinned in the juice on my Tesco order.

The alcohol diet looks totally doable on holiday, I prefer rum to drink but could switch to vodka.

Can you drink diet coke on the James Duncan diet? I have a horrible headache and I am sure it's the lack of diet coke today...

I didn't order lamb chops arse, I can switch that for a bit of chicken breast yes?

I think my toning exercises are making a difference as well as my running, my thighs look more toned and the tops of my arms, though they have a long way to go. Am going to dig out my weights and have been going googling hula hoops... Must remember to close the blinds when I hula in the evenings.. My neighbours don't need to see that.

itsfab I am always pleased if I weigh the same at the end of the day as I normally weigh more in the evening. I like morning weighs esp if I have a poo when I first get up... Tmi.

Because I picked so much cake-mixture, and ham etc at lunchtime, I'm not having tea. Sob. I've had a Bovril and three glasses of water. If things get REALLY bad later this evening, I'll have another Bovril (20 cals, 0.8g carb, 3.6g protein), a banana or a clementine. I know fruit is carb-laden but it's also sod-all calories and it's healthy! And if anyone tried to stand between me and the fruit bowl, I would kill them.

I've just had to feed the kids, avoid sniffling their leftovers AND watch my parents eat a Chinese takeaway tonight. (Two takeaways in two days!)
I'm wearing the PlayDoh jeans. They realllllllly cut in - the tops of my thighs went numb earlier when I squatted down. Shock
