It has to stop - every year I say I am going to lose weight and each year I put weight on. My 'fat' shorts that I have had for years and always kept as I didn't want to buy new shorts in the same size as of course next year I would be a size 12 - are now too small. I am so ashamed. I start a new diet practically every day and don't last until lunch time.
I am going to post on this thread each week so that I can be accountable to myself at least.

Stats:
5'5 and 15st4

I need to lose around 4.5 stone to get to a healthy bmi
I am NOT going to diet - I am going to eat sensibly and increase fruit and veg intake and drink lots more water. My only rule is no secret eating/binging as this is my major downfall Sad

If anyone would like to join me that would be great but I am going to keep posting to help myself stay focussed.

I CAN DO THIS

My weekend weigh-in put me at 13st 11 1/2, so not as good a loss as the first week, but that's very much to be expected, and at least I lost something. It helps that the weekend was busy, so I didn't have enough time to think about food.

My target weight of 12st7 (or a little under) is starting to seem doable.

I'm still Slim Fast-ing, but have been recommended this book so might look in to moving to simply calorie-counting so I can make sure I don't just bounce back up once I stop the bars and shakes.

fourarms that is amazing and is a great motivation for me. I would love to be under 11st and almost at a healthy bmi. Was your weight loss steady or did you lose a lot more at the beginning?
bluekarou well done on the loss, that is a great result. How are you finding things this week?
I am struggling a bit and have had a few binges, I just dont know how to get AND KEEP the motivation Sad

I'll join in. Have been on many diets over the years. Most recently low-carb, which really worked. But as soon as I was relatively happy with my weight & how I looked, I started eated rubbish again. So am now a fat, blobby failure.

Welcome, TheAmyrlin

Struggled a bit this week. I was so tired Monday night, and get grumpy when I'm tired, that I went to bed with my slimfast meal and two packets of crisps. I'm definitely feeling more hungry now, and just want to snack. It sort of helps that I have a reason to lose weight, but sometimes that seems so far off and I'm impatient, so I just try to focus on getting a 'better score' on my weekend weigh-ins.

I've been recommended a book called Carbs and Cals which might help me figure out good foods and good portion sizes. Will be back with a review when it arrives.

Let me join please.

Size 12 (but can feel I'm heading into 12-14 territory). 11st 8lb, want to be down to 10st 5oz by Halloween as I have a special event coming up.

No idea if that's doable or not, hoping that it is.

Cycled for 4.5 miles last night, plan to try to do 4.6 miles tonight.

I have several issues with comfort eating, I know the root of these issues, but they are still hard to shift... just like the fat on my belly and muffin tops.

ROARmeow · 17/07/2014 12:09

Forgot to say, I'm 5'7".

shinydog · 18/07/2014 10:50

Fourarms, that is a great loss and very motivating.
I am down from 15.2 st on the 18th June to 14.7 today. I am so happy to see the scales moving in the right direction :)
Now if I could just get the wobbly bits a bit more toned......

TheAmyrlin · 16/09/2014 18:07

Well the diet started again today. Hopefully I can stick to it this time. Am reducing my carb intake.
