Paul McKenna's 'I Can Make You Thin' Thread #15...The New Beginning!

Welcome to thread #15 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

HELPFUL TIPS!
Lots of chewing; at least 20 chews per mouthful.

Ask yourself "am I really hungry?" Listen for your 'full signal' and leave at least a mouthful on your plate at every meal. Eat your favourite thing from your plate first so that if you get to the full signal, but have your favourite food still sitting there, you aren't going to 'make room' for it because you love it, it will have already gone.

Admire something about yourself every day in the mirror.
Try to move more; dance around the living room or walk to school...use the stairs...small things, but good things!

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth and body, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those summer outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2014 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for the sunny summer time!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Virtual Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we won't be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process Smile so get stuck in Smile

Here is a link to From Emotional Eating which may give some insight into why we do this and help us beat it.

Ps. Could we all try to sign in at least every few days so that someone is there? We have established that it's no fun talking to ourselves and also that if there is a new joiner, it's good to say 'hello and welcome' to them too.

Ok! Let's Focus and See Ourselves wearing that body we desire! learning to love ourselves is an important daily step, so let's become LOSERS in order to be WINNERS!!! :)

I have a good nights sleep after the Smarter CD. This morning DDs stayed over at GPs and DP had been on a night shift, I started the day with havening and the Emtional eating track, while I was having breakfast I had the 'listen while you eat track' on. I have felt good all day and only thought of food when I had a grumble in my tummy!

This is day 21 for me and I feel really good.

I am thinking about reading 'I can make you Rich' book but I dont know how I would find time to listen to anymore tracks! Though being smart rich and thin is very appealing !

solo I hope the scan gives you some answers and hope you feel better soon

kazzawazzawoo · 01/06/2014 18:59

Will I be able to put the audio cd on my phone? I don't have a cd player, although dd does, but I think my pc has a cd drive so I can transfer it somehow? ? Confused

MrsLundyBancroft · 01/06/2014 19:12

kazza rip the track from the cd and send it to your phone. I've done that and it's worked out fine.

No time like the present. Band fitted (again).

kazzawazzawoo · 01/06/2014 20:45

Mrs, is it easy to rip and can I then just transfer it by plugging my (android) phone in?

Bindibach · 01/06/2014 21:03

I fitted my band again too Mrs and the Emo cd this morning. Lol!!

MrsLundyBancroft · 02/06/2014 00:11

Yes that's it kazza

We shall be old-newbies bindi

JDD · 02/06/2014 10:38

Hi all,

I'm still trying to live by the ICMYT rules although I have good days and bad days. I'll just keep trying. I really need to make myself use the havening and other techniquest every time I'm struggling rather than giving in to old habits.

Dosey it sounds like you are doing really well. Have you stuck to the rules 100% for 21 days?

ALittleFaith · 02/06/2014 10:51

Hi all. Photo of me and munchkin from yesterday visible to MN mates now. We had a lovely day but we're shattered now!

I think I need to reinstall my gastric band. Need to refocus.

JDD · 02/06/2014 11:27

Dosey I didn't mean my question to sounds accusatory, I'm just in awe and looking for inspiration. It would be good to know that it is possible to stick to the rules for more than a week at a time which is all I manage without falling off the wagon.

Bindibach · 02/06/2014 11:44

JDD I have eaten this way pretty much for the last 10 years. Yes it works. I mostly maintain and have stayed the same weight but have upped my gym and weight training and would like to lose some more body fat and get toned especially as Im getting older. Once I stopped dieting and starting eating normally like became so much simplier.

Bindibach · 02/06/2014 11:45

"life"...

JDD · 02/06/2014 12:20

Thanks Bindi. Do you feel like your habits have completely changed then? Do you ever binge? Do you find it easy to follow the rules day in day out?

Bindibach · 02/06/2014 14:56

I have my binge moments IF I think about dieting funnily enough. If I feel bad about myself and think that I am fat and need to starve myself then that will be followed by overeating as if I am trying to get back to my "eating normally" state again. Does that make sense. So my main aim is to never diet or put myself in that position. My habits changed in that I always buy food that I love and cook meals that are full of flavour and taste divine. Otherwise, what is the point in eating. I have always been a foodie but have developed it over the last 10 years. If I take a mouthful of something and it is not delicious then I will not eat any more (unless I am desperate). I tell myself that I am not a bin. It is an ongoing process.

Dosey · 02/06/2014 18:45

Hi JDD I read the FEE book three weeks ago. I did the Havening for 7 days and l have listened to the Emtional eating track every day since. i haven't done any other techniques in the book because I feel it's enough what I am doing.

my aim was to stop binge eating. I have a real sweet tooth and when I start I just can't stop. I wanted to control that more than loose weight. Saying they I have lost a pounds. I haven't had a binge since I started three weeks ago. If I have fancied a treat I have had one like a slice of cake in a coffee shop. But I have only eaten what I have enjoyed. I have had the odd chocolate but again just eaten what I have enjoyed and not until I feel sick.

Thy system seems to have an effect on other aspects of my life, I am much calmer and patient with the kids, I am sleeping vey well and I seem to be more organised, getting things done instead of burying my head in the biscuit barrel. I don't know how long this will last I am hoping its here to stay. In the meantime I will keep listening to the Emtional eating track.

Keep posting JDD we will try to keep you motivated.

JDD · 02/06/2014 22:31

Thanks for the support and motivation. I haven't binged since I started either although I have eaten for the sake of it because I fancied something rather than for genuine hunger. Sometimes at meal times I'm so hungry that I eat too fast and end up eating more than I really need and then sometimes I eat something sweet afterwards even though I'm full. These are the things I want to stop doing. It's just practice though I think. I'm going to keep working on it.

xx

Dosey · 03/06/2014 20:54

JDD have you tried listening to the 'listen while you eat track* I know it can be tricky when you have the family round the table. I don't listen to this track everyday, but the odd morning I am up before everybody else I listen to it while I have my breakfast. This can set me up for the day.

I have been eating out of habit rather than hunger, I am hoping with the help of the CDs and book I have got out of this habit.
