Ok so having tried everything from ww, slimming world, dukan, south beach, ketgenic, etc... and dieted most of the 27 years of my life ive decided enough is enough and its time to get down to a weight im happy with and be able to enjoy food instead of having the love hate relationship I currently have with it.

So heres the plan, now for me I need to see quick results at first to give me the motivation to continue and juicing is definately the best for this so im going to do a 7 day juice fast followed by a 10 day detox (juice for breakfast, soup for lunch and a healthy tea with nuts and veg sticks with dip for snacks) and on the way I will record my weight change each day and my measurements weekly, id also do progress pics if I could but I dont have a mirror that allows me to take a full length photo.

Now my current weight is 10 stone 9 pounds, which for my height (5ft 8) is within the healthy bmi, but as all will know just because your in your healthy bmi, doesnt mean your happy with your body, so my goal is to get to 9st 4 lbs. Some may think this is too low for someone my height but ive been at 9st 4lbs before, and to me this was when I was happy with my figure and still within my healthy bmi (very important).

Ive tried juicing twice before, having watched 'fat, sick and nearly dead' and been inspired to buy a juicer (sage - £199 john lewis, I believe argos do a good cheap juicer tho) on both occasions I lasted a week losing around 8 pounds each time, and during the juicing I felt amazing but as with anything else I didnt stick to healthy eating afterwards and I gained all the weight back, but this time is different!!!

I woke up this morning and told myself it would be the last morning I weight 10 stone 9lbs!

Now I invite anyone that wishes to join me, and I promise to do all I can to motivate you too :)

Day 1

I woke up this morning to have a lemon with hot water (great for cleansing the system and filling u up a bit), followed by a juice made from:

3 apples, 2 carrots, 1/4 cucumber, a stalk of broccoli and a handful of spinach then blend with 1 avocado and ice......yummy!

this will no doubt keep me going till about 2, if your in work and want to do this I recommend getting a nakd juice from tesco, sainsburys, waitrose, it saves having to faff about with making a juice to take to work.

ill let you know how im getting on this evening but any questions please ask.

You definitely need to be in the zone, saying that I wasn't in the zone when I started and found the first few days quite hard but today I've been to weatherspoons with the family and I still managed to stick to it while everyone enjoyed their roast dinner I had a naked juice (only £1.99 from weatherspoons) so once you get past the first 3 days it gets a lot easier.

Def gets easier after 3 days! I'm juicing again. Had the jason vale turbo this morning. Salad for lunch with oatcakes and just had a beet/apple/carrot/blackberry smoothie

Got seeds stuck in my teeth so feel like I've been chewing!

MABS - Why don't you try Juice Plus basically you have two juices/shakes/smoothies a day and a clean meal for dinner. At least that way you can eat (chew) a meal once a day.

thanks so much

Ok so i got through the 7 days with a weight loss of 7lbs, which im really pleased with.

Today i embark on my 10 day detox which consist of juice in morning, soup for lunch and a healthy tea with nut and veg stick with dip for snacks.

Today i started with my avocado juice/smoothie, i had a banana mid morning (it needed eating) and im enjoying my soup now (homemade veg with lentils). I'll be honest i am not hungry either.

I found the 7 day juice fast ok when you get into it, it is a case of mind over matter and i knew i wasnt hungry but i still wanted food. My husband was sat next to me last night with a bag of doritos and salsa dip and i thought i could just eat one of them, but then i asked myself if i was hungry and if id really enjoy it and the answer was no, so i stuck to my juice.
One thing i would recommend to anyone juicing is ADD AVOCADOS (if you like them) they make the juices so much nicer and the health benefits of avocados are brilliant.

We lovethe juices with avocados, they make them almost silky

Really enjoying juicing right now.

Hi all,
I love juicing (can't get the avocados to cooperate with my juicer though!). I have a logistical question. I have a new(ish) boyfriend and have been staying at his house 3/4 nights a week recently. I think taking my juicer with me is a bit crazy but he only has a blender. Could I use that or do I need to buy another/lug mine around? He lives just over an hour away from me.

Jpowerjones1987 · 06/05/2014 20:23

Hi blueemerald, juices keep up to 48 hours if their kept cold. If I were you I'd juice before I went and put it in a flask and stick it in your boyfriends fridge when you get there. Then when you want a juice you can just get it out the fridge and add ice or blend it with an avocado and ice, you can't juice avocados, you can only blend them, same with bananas.

If you don't want to do that but want to stay along the juice/smoothie line is just use the blender and have things like coconut water or almond milk with banana and pineapple or strawberry and experiment by throwing some spinach or carrots in.

Thanks! I guess I'll have to organise myself from now on. Hmm
I'm afraid I don't buy the "giving the body a rest" bit either but the weight loss with the accompanying incredible debloating and glowing skin is enough for me!
