I want to lose around ten stones! Shock

Yoyo dieted for years with weight going up and up.
Have fibromyalgia and CFS which limits mobility a bit.

Have started with Paul McKenna's Freedom from Emotional Eating this week.
Feeling positive about making the changes needed.

Would love a weight loss buddy or buddies.

Still doing the PMcK plan and am finding that I don't want to eat between meals which is great.

Not walked as much today as had a lot to do at home.
Will be gardening this weekend, so plenty of fresh air.

OP posts:
TooBigNow · 13/04/2014 23:51

Managed to get through the weekend with only eating at meals.
I seemed to have a bit more energy today which felt good.

How are you all doing FriendlyFeatures, 30SecondstoVenus, Tiffanyatbreakfast and Hardbeingme?

OP posts:
TooBigNow · 18/04/2014 22:52

Definitely feel as if I have lost weight, but on the scales I am 1 lb heavier this week. Shock
The only thing I can think is that it is the time of the month affecting me.
My clothes are looser than they were and I have more energy.

Keeping off the grazing between meals and only eating meaningfully when sat at the table.

Good morning, can I join please? I lost 3.5 stone with Slimming World but have gained 2 back - while still attending classes Confused
I am trying to start afresh this week, I need to lose about 7 stone I think.
I got a fitbit for my birthday and it's really helping me move more. I am aiming to do 8000 steps a day on non working days and 5000 on working days - good job I only work 2 days a week! Once I am consistently doing that I'm going to push for 10,000 and 6,000.
Hope everyone is managing ok over Easter.

TooBigNow · 20/04/2014 21:54

Hi Chocchip I would be delighted if you joined me.

How soul destroying to gain weight while going to a slimming class. Sad
I forgot to clip my fitbit on yesterday, so don't know how much I did.
Had a very lazy day today though.

Good luck with your target weight loss.

Hi everyone, been awol for a while, all going fairly well here, still following the paleo diet but fear that the easter cake I ate copious amounts of is not on the plan!!
How is everyone else getting along?
My plan for this week is to get my house in orfer, lots of things need chucking and the whole house needs a bloody good clean, should be good exercise all that moving around :)

TooBigNow · 22/04/2014 22:08

Hi FriendlyFeatures great to hear from you again.

My daughter goes back to school on Thursday, so will wait for that to do some clearing.
I've been fairly good with the Easter chocolate, only eaten a few of the small chocolates out of the egg so far.
Will see how long I can make it last me!
Previously I would have eaten it even before we had got to Easter!

OP posts:
FriendlyFeatures · 22/04/2014 22:59

Hi Too congrats for the Easter choc making in past Sun, it is tues now, an achievement in my eyes :) We actually asked family this year not to get stuff for the children as they know I scoff it all Shock
My little darlings both went back to school today, not much housework wes done but the dog got two good walks! I am trying to concentrate on how much I enjoy being outside, it's worked today anyway
Did you put your fatbit on today, how have you got on??

TooBigNow · 23/04/2014 23:19

Hi FriendlyFeatures, I did remember to put the fitbit on today, but forgot yesterday!
Only done around 2500 steps today!

My chocolate egg is still in one piece and there are a few chocolates left.
The rest of my family are amazed as it would normally have gone before Easter...lol

This holiday seems to have lasted a long, long time.
Will be glad when she goes back tomorrow.
She did spring on me that she had some homework that needed to be back in this week.
Went mad with her as I had asked several times if there was any.
Had to help her with it in the end...

Did a sneaky weigh in today and I have lost 5 lb this week giving me a total of 11 lb lost so far!!!!! Grin

OP posts:
TooBigNow · 25/04/2014 20:42

Weighed in this morning and it confirmed that I had lost 5 lb for the week.
I finished most of my Easter egg off as it was annoying me being there.
Just got one chocolate left as I swore that I wouldn't finish it before Sunday.Grin

Tried on a few of my smaller clothes to see if any of them would fit.
Had to put a pin in my current trousers to take them in by at least an inch as they were falling down.
Need to look through the ironing cupboard to find clothes I didn't bother ironing as they didn't fit me before.Blush

Do yoga
Eat Less
Drink more water
Cut out bad fats from food
eat raw food
sleep just 7 - 8 hours .

These are All tips to help you lose weight Naturally. Smile

TooBigNow · 26/04/2014 20:52

Hi Aaniyye. In theory that is correct.

However, you don't take into account is that compulsive/binge eaters don't eat the wrong foods with the intention of getting fat.
Stating eat less is insulting.

Since starting the Paul McKenna Freedom from Emotional Eating, I at long last feel optimistic.
I had a very bad relationship with food and didn't know how to deal with it.
The hypnosis dvd and cd have helped me tremendously and have given me an insight into why I had issues.
Some of the things that came out were issues from my childhood and teenage years that I would never have dreamed would cause binge eating.
My mother has a bad relationship with food also which is where I probably learnt it in the first place.
Sweets and chocolate were always given as a treat and a reward for doing something good.
I am determined that my daughter does not follow in the same path.
The only way to do that is to lead by example.

It is easy for someone to say that you should use willpower, but it isn't as simple as that when it is a compulsion.
I have been amazed at how different I feel since I started this.
No longer craving foods like chocolate and cheese which were my downfall.

I look forward to losing the weight and being happier with my size.

OP posts:
FriendlyFeatures · 29/04/2014 17:14

hiya Too how's things going with you?
Willpower is not in my dictionary sadly which is why my weight has got so horrific! What has helped me so far is not having anything in the house that I can binge on! Dh has hidden the childrens easter eggs at my request.
I have so far lost 19lbs :) still a huge way to go, but a start..

TooBigNow · 29/04/2014 23:19

Hi FriendlyFeatures well done on your 19 lb!!!

I'm at 13 lb now since starting the PMcK. I had lost 2 stones over the last 14 months, but hadn't managed more until now...so nearly 3 stones altogether. I still have a very long way to go too.

We have no Easter eggs left in the house now.Grin
DD and DH have eaten theirs, and I shared mine.
Kept the last chocolate until Sunday because I had a £50 bet with my DH that it wouldn't last a week.GrinGrin

Room for a small one? (Well, in a manner of speaking!) I have about 7 stone to lose, but would be happy with 5. Had eating disorders since I was 15...now I just want to re educate myself about food, and break the cycle.

TooBigNow · 01/05/2014 08:37

Hi JTo you are very welcome to join us!

I can't praise the Paul McKenna book, Freedom from Emotional Eating enough.
It would certainly be worth you getting a copy.
Mine came from Amazon www.amazon.co.uk/Freedom-From-Emotional-Eating-DVD/dp/0593064070/
It's been amazing how it's changed the way I think of food now.
No eating between meals and no cravings like I used to get.
Sometimes I have to remind myself that I don't really want to eat, but in the past it would have been very difficult to say no.

Most days I only have two meals, a combined breakfast and lunch, then an evening meal with DD and DH.
Brunch is sometimes scrambled eggs with mushrooms and very thinly sliced toast.
Sometimes mixed lettuce with tomatoes, peppers, a spoon of lower fat Hellmanns and small piece of cheese crumbled up or some ham.
Supper is my main meal of the day. I do cook most things from scratch, but have been using jars of sauce which do have too much sugar in.

I've been trying a few Paleo recipes recently and am also going to dig out my crockpot from the back of the cupboard.
We don't have any sugary snacks in the house and am not tempted to buy them either.
I know that there is a long way to go for me, but do feel much more positive that it can happen this time than for any other "diet" before.

FriendlyFeatures · 01/05/2014 21:15

Hi Jto I say i've got 10 stone to loose but I would be more than happy to fit into a size 14!
Too i'm going to take a look at the paul mckenna book, I have heard lots of people say how good it is. I am the same with snacks now, just buy them for the kids packed lunch boxes and feel a right shit if I eat them, no binges fo ages have certainly done wonders for my skin and I had to put a belt on a pair of jeans today, they fell down!

TooBigNow · 01/05/2014 23:12

Hi FF great news on your jeans! My trousers are all starting to fall down too.

Have taken the waistband of today's pair in with a safety pin by 2".
My mother thinks I should alter them by sewing rather than be scruffy with a pin!Hmm
Sounds like too much effort when they won't fit me at all soon...hopefully.Smile

OP posts:
JToTheCToTheCrisTotheT · 02/05/2014 03:59

The tip about the snacks is mint.

I have gone and buggered my ankle at the gym, so resting for a few days. Having not much to do is usually a danger zone for me, so going to get my crochet out and distract myself.

TooBigNow · 03/05/2014 10:41

Hope your ankle is better soon JTo!

My weight has stayed static this week which surprised me as I am definitely getting thinner.
The waistband of my trousers needs taking in a bit more already.
I've had a water retention problem for years, so that probably accounts for the fluctuations.
Will just keep on eating properly with the PMcK plan and hopefully it should all work out.

Hope everyone has had a good week with their eating.
If not, start afresh again...don't give up!!!

OP posts:
TooBigNow · 10/05/2014 13:05

My update for this week is that I have lost another pound making it a full stone now!
I feel thinner than one pound though as my clothes are definitely getting bigger on me.

Finding it easier to keep to the mindfully eating if I listen to the CD while I eat. Otherwise, I tend to speed up and eat without thinking.

Well done Too. Just lurking and have been reading your thread.

prawnypoos · 12/05/2014 15:01

Well done toobig and everyone else! Do you mind if I join this thread? I had a baby 9 months ago and have about 5 stones to lose.

Would love the support of some like minded ladies :)

TooBigNow · 14/05/2014 08:34

Hi Iggity and Prawnypoos. Welcome!!

I would love you both to join the thread. We all need moral support with weight loss.
Today I weighed myself (a few days early) and had lost another 1 lb which makes 1 stone and 1 lb since I started PMcK.
This is now just over 3 stones lost in total. Still got 9 stones to go though...

OP posts:
TooBigNow · 21/05/2014 13:36

I've had a bit of a strange week foodwise. Was given a 350g box of Belgian chocolates which I ate but didn't really enjoy. Probably shouldn't have eaten them at all. Sad

Started a heavy period yesterday which is the first for years as I have a Mirena coil.
Maybe it's time for a new one.
