I am going to lose this 2 stone, for good!!

I will be taking "after" pictures on July 1st.

I took before pictures yesterday and they are awful. I have at least 2 stone to lose. I have joined other threads here before, with some success. Then quit after getting halfway to my goal and gaining everything back in half the time it took me to lose it.

I am 5 foot 6, have been wavering around the 12 stone mark since having my 2 dc within 13 months. Youngest is now 2.

In my "before" pictures (which I won't post until I get to post them with my afters!). It is painfully obvious that nearly all of my weight is around my middle. This is particularly worrying as my family history is full of diabetes, heart problems, cancer, strokes- you name it.

My plan is this:

MFP to track my calories

30 day shred or alternate 30 min workout 5 times a week

More conscious eating. Re-reading Paul McKenna, "I Can Make You Thin."

Easy on the carbs. My current 2 slices of toast breakfast, 2 slice of bread sandwich and crisps lunch, and insert random carb heavy dinner here, is doing me and my middle no favours.

Drink more water. At least 4 pint glasses per day.

Chew gum instead of mindless snacking.

No baking. I can think up any excuse to bake, and then of course I have to test my product--no more!

And that is basically it.....

I am hoping that I can make all of these things my new way of life, rather than a diet.

I am tired of hating myself in every picture.

I am tired of refusing to buy new clothes in this size, and looking like a slob as all of my clothes are old and don't fit properly.

I want to be healthy and I want to be here for my kids for as long as possible.

I want to be a good example for my kids.

I would like to feel attractive again.

I am going to check in here at least once a week. Monday morning weigh in to keep me honest over the weekends. Please feel free to join me, or cheer me on.

I don't want to be a diet bore in real life so I am going to use this thread for my rambling instead.

So here goes......

Well done Thatsnotaknife and good luck with your run next weekend.

Day 10 of level 1 of the 30 day shred. It still isn't easy but I can definitely do more press ups than I could on day 1.

I worked it out that if I walk the DDs to school and walk back I will do over 6000 steps. I normally drive them there and then leave the car until I pick them up. I might try and be organised and walk both ways.

Morning all,
Feeling a bit crappy today. I thought it was Monday so weighed myself and gained 2lb. I literally dont understand why this week. I have been extra good on diet.
I tried my dress on for the wedding and its still a bit tight. Only 3 weeks today too.
X

RunningKatie · 04/05/2014 22:02

I have a spa evening in five weeks, I do not look good in a swimsuit, I don't even own a nice swimsuit. Arghhhhh.

I also weighed this morning and had mysteriously gained 2lbs again. So, I will try again tomorrow and fingers crossed despite inhaling some green & blacks, all will be a bit brighter in the morning lamby.

DH is working tomorrow so I don't quite have the long weekend, I have had a large glass of wine though!

FlossyMcgrew · 04/05/2014 23:05

Hey ladies!
Sorry I've been crap about posting this week. I keep telling DH that I'm neglecting "my girls."
Off on our mini break in the morning, sneaked a peek at scales Friday and was down a pound, which felt great, until I had to go swimsuit shopping today. Let's just say I've still got a way to go! Ended up with a black "magic" tummy control number from tesco.

Hoping not to go too crazy on this little trip. Also hoping the sunshine lasts....
Good luck everyone!

Hope the scales look a bit kinder for you this morning lamby and Katie.

Have a fab break flossy! Wish I was heading off somewhere, spent all last night researching camping trips which is as exciting as it gets here...

2and a half lbs off this morning, so 9 lb in total. Was pretty naughty this week so am very with that loss I think!

howiwonder · 05/05/2014 09:34

*very lucky that should say

RunningKatie · 05/05/2014 21:26

I am taking a sledgehammer to my scales, it's the simplest thing for all of us.

Have a great trip Flossy.

We have paid for our hols to Northumberland today, looking forward to it. DH and I have never been abroad together although he's forever flying off to foreign places.

2lbs is great howi - I am envious!

Tomorrow I may be going out with a running club. Haha!

AmeliaToppingLovesShopping · 05/05/2014 23:00

Have fun running tomorrow RunningKatie.

When you weigh, how much clothes do you wear?

When I started I weighed fully dressed so just carried that on. Last week I decided to weigh in just my underwear and was 1.5lbs less. I have still lost the same amount of weight as I have before but am closer to my target without the clothes Grin

howiwonder · 05/05/2014 23:21

Knickers and nothing else Amelia!!!

One way to claw back a few pounds, and a plus side of not going to ww or slimming world GrinGrin

AmeliaToppingLovesShopping · 06/05/2014 08:22

Howi that made me laugh. I think stripping naked at Slimming work would be frowned upon slightly Grin

Weighed this morning and I've lost 2 1/4lbs this week. That's 1st 1 1/2lbs lost in total.

I have 6lbs to go before being lighter than I have been in a long time Grin

determined to lose 2 stones :)

RunningKatie · 06/05/2014 12:53

2 stone in 4 to 6 weeks, are you sure?

I weigh naked, it's the best way if not the most attractive.

I am back at 12.6, so 6lbs off so far. Now i need to stop messing and get the weight shifting again.

ditsygal · 06/05/2014 13:53

Hi ladies, can I join you?
Starting weight 13st 2lbs at 5ft7. Starting tomorrow. Following basic principals of SW plus a bit of portion control and making sure I eat loads of fruit and veg, and starting the 30 day shred as well.
Its my 30th in just over 3 months so I am aiming to have lost 2 stone 4lbs by then. It's also my BIL wedding in Sept so that is an extra incentive. I will do it this time, I will I will I will....

Lamby80 · 06/05/2014 20:07

Hiya
I forgot to post yesterday. Come Monday i had stayed the same. Strange scales that showed a gain on Sunday. Pleased but sad i seem to have come to a standstill.
Trying for 1lb this week.
Everyone seems to be doing so well! Some of you are over a stone - thats amazing!! I dont think in ever going to get there!
We recently moved and i unpacked a lot of clothes over the weekend, all 2 whole sizes too small but has given me extra motivation. X

RunningKatie · 07/05/2014 17:31

Good news that the scales had an off day lamby. Hopefully they'll behave better next week.

I'm feeling like i am getting back on track with things. More exercise, better food, and eating under the mfp exercise cals.

I've started reading the paul mckenna book, need to watch the hypnosis dvd.

howiwonder · 07/05/2014 18:33

Yay for getting back on track! I'm getting a bit slack, this week will not be a good one - my birthday tomorrow, home all day with the kids (poor me, can you hear the violins?!) so a few treats will be had I am sure.

On a positive note, I had my first 'have you lost weight?'comment today, hurray!

AmeliaToppingLovesShopping · 08/05/2014 08:19

Happy birthday howi, hope you have a lovely day.

Have just done L2 D4 of the shred, it certainly makes you very hot and sweaty :)

magentastardust · 08/05/2014 11:09

Well I have just posted on MFP as that is me reached the 28lb /2 stone mark today! Smile I am on holiday in 9 weeks and ideally would love to lose another 10lbs-14lbs for then but will see how it goes.

AmeliaToppingLovesShopping · 08/05/2014 11:58

Well done magentastardust 2 stone is amazing!

MrsWinnibago · 08/05/2014 12:02

I've lost a stone by riding 8 miles a day on my bike. I do this instead of using public transport...it's been fast too!

RunningKatie · 08/05/2014 13:13

magenta - amazing, how do you feel? I hope you are rewarding yourself. I am planning treats in for each half stone loss. Along the lines of a new haircut, a new properly fitting bra, a childfree coffee shop trip. The old me would have rewarded with cake Wink

Happy birthday howi, have a lovely day.

I didn't get up for my bike ride today. DS is waking through the night and i have a sore throat etc. so when the alarm went off at 5.45 i switched it off. Hopefully it'll be dry later and I can either cycle or run.

magentastardust · 08/05/2014 13:26

I do feel good, so much less stress and pain on my knees and legs! Have a lot more energy too.
Feels great fitting into old clothes again and buying some new stuff for holidays.
I have quite a lot to lose though so need to remember that I need to keep going. I tend to go off track once I am back from holidays and once Autumn sets in I go into hibernation mode!!
I need to get into the mind set that it is a permanent change and not a quick fix for holidays. Want to break the yoyo dieting cycle.

I think I would like to lose 4 stone altogether (including the 2 stone I have already lost)

magentastardust · 08/05/2014 13:28

Well done Mrs Winnibago. Excercise has definitely made a difference to me this this time.

RunningKatie · 08/05/2014 13:47

I have just seen the weather forecast, i think i'll be shredding tonight. Rain, rain and more rain. Sad
