New week, new thread, hopefully less "stayed the same"s this week

OP posts:
JackieNo · 16/08/2006 12:22

Wow suejonez - I am very impressed. When things are going well, it does seem easier to postpone treats like that though, doesn't it, and give yourself something to look forward to. But if things are going badly, I always need comfort food now, immediately, if not before.

suejonez · 16/08/2006 12:27

Yes it is easier when you're up Jackie I guess the trick is the work on staying positive for longer and negative for less time. I think it would probably help more than thinking about food all the time.

Less looking in mirrors/shop windows thinking "god I'm so fat" more thinking I'm so fab for losing weight AND I'm a lovely person to boot (don't know about you lot but I'm bloody marvellous )

JackieNo · 16/08/2006 12:48

Oh yes - me too, definitely.

coppertop · 16/08/2006 12:50

I've just seen your other thread, SJ, and I'm soooo happy for you. Hurray!

Well I've managed to stay the same this week. I think I need a target too. The exercise must be working though because my clothes feel much looser. I keep having to hitch my jeans back up because they slip down.

Good luck everyone.

MrsJohnCusack · 16/08/2006 13:05

I've put on 2 pounds. But frankly that's not bad at all after my blowout weekend and I had to put on some at some point during this pregnancy

Def feeling less sick now and energy may be coming back - hurrah! Am still going to be very strict with myself though. No 'I'm pregnant, I deserve it' allowed - must just keep focusing on how bad I will feel if I pile on the weight.

hello WWB isn't it crap being a vegetarian sometimes - when there's only 'bad' food to eat. Happened to me in norway - all I could eat was bread and cheese and cakes for a week and it did dreadful things to my digestion and waistline. Interim targets seem like a really good idea, I can't focus on longterm things at all.

looser clothes is a great sign Coppertop!

suejonez · 16/08/2006 13:19

two pounds isn;t at all bad MrsJC - have you an idea in mind how much you want to put on at each stage? You could give yourself a weight gain target IYSWIM?

suejonez · 16/08/2006 14:55

I'm genuinely bemused as I've lost a pound. How odd. I know I haven't really, but I hope its not going to show up next week because I'm going to have a really good week otherwise I can feel a wave of goodness coming over me

JackieNo · 16/08/2006 15:00

Yay - good on you, suejonez. All that aqua doing the trick!

suejonez · 16/08/2006 15:15

I think it's actually all the happy jigging about I did yesterday (Actually I just think it's wrong!)

justamum · 16/08/2006 17:30

well done all for losingweight/staying the same.
what is the email for sending weights to?
i went to drs yesterday, she advised me not to "diet" until dd is weaned and getting most of her calories from solids but i can still make a start by cutting down on rubbish. dr also said the nurse offers a successful weight loss program and that dh and i can go on that when we decide to do this seriously. i have bought some scales, they must be wrong though!!! i can't weigh that much.

schneebly · 16/08/2006 17:41

Welcome back to WWB and well done to all those who have lost weight or stayed the same (or pg and only gaines 2 lbs!) I am off the wagon big style from the day I though I was pg I have just eayen everything in site and have put on a fair bit I feel a bit out of control and I am pissed off with myself - I need a good talking to!
Sue - did you see my post below about snowsuits I have 3 that are about the right size if you want one or all of them for as long as you like.

lemonaid · 16/08/2006 17:57

Have lost 2.5 pounds! Early days, but a good start considering the Pizza Incident and a party at the weekend.

Congratulations suejonez!

JackieNo · 16/08/2006 18:54

Ooh well done all. Justamum, the email is BigMothers at hotmail dot co dot uk (obviously replacing the at and dots with the appropriate symbol).

MrsJohnCusack · 16/08/2006 19:57

well done people!
justamum your scales obviously came from the same shop as mine

I don't have any idea of how much I would be happy with putting on with this pregnancy. Really - none - but I know that's not realistic.
You made a VERY good point there Sue, I will have a think about it

flutterbee · 16/08/2006 20:43

Couldn't believe it I weighed myself earlier and I have lost 9lb

Thats a stone in a week and a half, all this exersize is really paying off.

I know it will slow right down to a lb or so a week but my God this has really given me some Oooomph to just keep doing what I'm doing.

WigWamBam · 16/08/2006 20:48

I just this minute picked up your email, flutterbee - nearly fell off my chair! Well done. I don't mean to put a damper on it but don't overdo it, that's a hell of a lot to lose in 10 days or so.

OP posts:
flutterbee · 16/08/2006 20:51

I know wwb I was shocked myself if my DH hadn't been their to read the scales for me I don't think I would have believed it.

I think a lot has to do with all the exersize I have been doing, I am walking ebery night and swam twice on Sunday.

WigWamBam · 16/08/2006 21:02

It's a huge boost to see the numbers coming down, isn't it. Gives you that added bit of impetus for the next week as well.

OP posts:
JackieNo · 16/08/2006 21:03

BLimey flutterbee. Well done you! That's a staggering amount to lose!

suejonez · 16/08/2006 21:49

Think I know who's getting the crown this week...

suejonez · 16/08/2006 21:53

thank you Schneebly for the offer of the snowsuits - have been too frazzled to reply to much as I have thoughts whizzing around my brain.

Things are happening so fast now that I can;t keep up. If anyone close to me has a snowsuit then I'll borrow their's to save on postage unnecessarily for somoen else but will definitely come back to you if I can't source one closer.

schneebly · 17/08/2006 08:42

No problem Sue but if you do want them I would like to cover the postage by way of a little congratulatory gift. You mind will be buzzing from now until October! Well done on losing a pund - you can go for that meal with you mum now without feeling guilty!

WigWamBam · 17/08/2006 10:41

Apologies for being late with these; I didn't post last night because I didn't have all the weights, and we've had a power cut this morning. Anyway, I think we know who's getting all the prizes this week

Alittlebitshy: -2 (total 17lb)
coppertop: stayed the same (total 11lb)
flutterbee: -9lb (total - 15lb ... in 10 days!)
JackieNo: -2lb (total -23lb)
Lemonaid: -2.5lb (total 2.5lb)
suejonez: -1lb (total 10lb)
WWB: +2lb (total 14lb)

So sweeping the boards this week with her first half stone, and her first stone, and getting this weeks crown , flutterbee deserves a big trophy and a huge round of applause.

Could I ask, really politely and really nicely, that everyone who wants their weight loss listed emails me? The thread is getting quite busy now, and it's taking ages to pick out the posts with the losses on them. Do post them by all means but please email me as well.

OK, off to start this week's thread!
