I think...

Littelfish
JackieNo
MrsJC
Suejonez

Who else?

We said 11 -11.30 (depending on traffic/trains)

JackieNo was sussing out venues to meet so will wiat for her to chip in on that one.

Littlefish · 15/08/2006 14:23

Lovely, lovely, lovely - can't wait to meet you all.

JackieNo · 15/08/2006 15:36

Yup - I'm really looking forward to it. I think it's Christchurch meadow if dry and Bella Pasta/Bella Italia if rainy (meet outside Zara in the Clarendon centre). I just had a look at the BBC's weather forecast for FRiday, and it says 'heavy showers', so most likely not the picnic, I suspect. Shall I do instructions/links etc now, or on Thursday, so it will be on the current week's thread? I sent WWB my mobile number last week, not sure if other people have also done that yet?

suejonez · 15/08/2006 17:37

Hurrah!

JackieNo · 15/08/2006 17:40

Absolutely! Fabulous news suejonez. Will we be breaking out the champagne on Friday? Actually, I'll be driving, so won't be able to do any alcohol, but here's some virtual champagne at the very least.

suejonez · 15/08/2006 18:01

Happy jiggy dancing is V V good for weight loss!

flutterbee · 15/08/2006 19:50

Feeling better thanks littlefish, I have found out that npower install new boilers and with a 10% deposit allow you a further 6 months with no paymet then you either pay it all off or you pay in intallments.

Anyway gave them a ring and they are sending someone to give a quote next Tuesday fingers crossed its not astronomically high and that they can fit it asap.

Went for a walk today and decided just to walk the same distance that I walked the first time I went (exactly a week ago) I walked it 7 mins quicker and my back didn't feel like it was going to give up

Back to the longer distance tomorrow boooooo but yay.

MrsJohnCusack · 15/08/2006 21:31

hello mofos

Have eaten for Britain this weekend, now feeling rather sick as per usual BUT morning (ha - all day) sickness seems to be easing off today. May be a blip though.

looking forward to Friday. Am in 2 minds whether to bring DD or not - who else is bringing kids? Just thinking that DH is away until Thursday, he may need to spend some quality time with her to make up for 5 days leaving me with her and her moods. And she may rebel at a good 2.5 hours in the car and no running around when she's there as it'll prob rain - hmm, don't know.

sue I will email you for your address so I can come and pick you up.

JackieNo · 15/08/2006 21:42

Well I'll have DD and DS with me regardless - it would be nice to meet your DD, MrsJC, but you're right, it's a long way.

MrsJohnCusack · 15/08/2006 21:44

I expect I'll bring her anyway.
She loves going out to lunch and meeting other people. And she can sleep on the way home

Yes I think I'll bring here

dither dither

JackieNo · 15/08/2006 21:51

It would be lovely to meet her, MrsJC.

suejonez · 15/08/2006 23:01

and good practice for me to get to work on some little ones...

"now don't do that dear, no not on the floor, no nor there either!"

How old are your's Jackie?

JackieNo · 16/08/2006 08:20

You sound a bit Joyce Grenfell, sue. Mine are 2 and 6.

Littlefish · 16/08/2006 09:15

I'm bringing dd - she's 21 months. Please practice your best Joyce Grenfell on her SJ - she needs it!

Fabaroo news about the man who rips of the ribbon. Please tell us all about it on Friday.

Is there anything you are still short of equipment wise?

suejonez · 16/08/2006 10:00

I am a bit Joyce Grenfell'ish (only fatter!) I'm comes form being finance director at an advertising agency for years. My job was described as being "like herding cats"!

I'm defintiely a sandwich short of a picnic for getting into this mad venture - does that count as equipment?

Actually one thing I do need to borrow from someone is a snowsuit around 12 months old (unisex colour if possible but hey beggars can;t be choosers). I'll need it for Kazakhstan in November but doubt I'll use it once home so if you know anyone who wouldn't mind lending it to me, they can have it back to sell after I get back.

justamum · 16/08/2006 10:19

suejonez, congrats on the adoption coming through, i have got a snowsuit you can have, i'll look it out for you, its probably in my mums loft.If there is anything else you want in the way of boys clothes let me know as i have about 15 big pampers boxes ranging from newborn to 2yrs. most of it is pretty ordinary ie asda/mothercare/next etc but its all in good condition.

JackieNo · 16/08/2006 10:55

Just weighed: after 2 weeks of staying the same, I've lost 2 pounds. It seems to go in cycles like that for me - wonder if it's something to do with my AF.

flutterbee · 16/08/2006 11:00

Just looked at your link Sue congratulations, you must be over the moon and far away, and just imagine how good all that running around after a baby with be for you. Oh I can just see the lbs falling off you

schneebly · 16/08/2006 11:16

Sue - I think I might have a couple of snowsuits that size (will double ckeck sizes)- boy colours though but you can have them if you like!

WigWamBam · 16/08/2006 11:59

Spotted your thread about the man with the red ribbons, suejonez - thrilled for you that something seems to be happening at last.

I've been away for a couple of days in Wales ... and have eaten like a blasted horse. Vegetarianism doesn't seem to have reached quite that far yet so ended up living on chips as it was about the only food I could get (apart from welshcakes and ice-cream, of course) and have put a couple of pounds on. I don't feel too bad about it, am not beating myself up about it, but I need to make a concerted effort to seriously shift some more over the next few weeks. For a person of my size I've always been reasonably fit; we've always done a lot of walking, and used to do hillwalks quite often, but even climbing the two flights of stairs to our room had me needing to lie down for ten minutes because I was just so out of breath and because my chest hurt. I've never really had many physical problems from being so big but I really felt it over the last few days, and I don't like it.

I've never really set myself targets before, just been a one-day-at-a-time sort of person, but I need to get tough with myself. Of course I'm aware that my weight is bad for my health but now I'm starting to feel the effects and I need to step up a gear. I think I need to set myself a proper target, maybe a stone and a half or two stone by Christmas.

JackieNo · 16/08/2006 12:07

Glad you're back WWB - and glad you had a good time in Wales. There was a thread with earlgrey asking where you were this morning, too, as well as us missing you.

JackieNo · 16/08/2006 12:08

Aha - here it is .

WigWamBam · 16/08/2006 12:17

Someone missed me ... I thought I was all but invisible these days

OP posts:
suejonez · 16/08/2006 12:19

I KNOW I've put on weight, I had such an awful weekend. But really got back on track on Monday so hopefully have minimised the damage to a couple of pounds.

How impressive is this - told my mum my good news yesterday and she offered to take me out to dinner to celebrate. ASked if we could leave it until a treat on Friday (might have earned it by then) and we went swimming last night instead!!!

suejonez · 16/08/2006 12:22

I think you do probably need a firmer target now WWB (or should I call you "O Invisible one"?), you've done very well so far (better than me!) but we all reach a plateau occasionally and need a kickstart. Christmas seems a long way away though. Could you aim for something, say by half term, first.
