...and I'm struggling! Not with their plan, and I know it was the right thing to do, but I'm feeling very very tired today and had a thumping headache today and this morning. I know I'm probably de-toxing from cutting out my 8 coffees a day all with 2 sugars in, but it's bloody hard!

Have been eating all the right things, and enough, but am just wishing the hours away and hoping I start to feel more normal very soon!

Anyway, just wanted a grumble - I need to lose the weight (ideally about 3 stone) and I do get motivated by the thought of having to go to a meeting and get weighed, and the group person and the group itself seemed really nice and friendly, so I'll persevere!!

I joined 2 months ago (DS now 15 months - there was only so long I could blame him for extra weight). First week was a bit of a struggle so I can sympathise, but it got better, and I've already lost 1 stone - hooray!
Hang in there - it does get easier, and I always feel better once I've been weighed and found out that I've lost a pound or two.

nicnack2 · 29/07/2006 15:22

good for you, i lost 1stone in 2 months with them after ds1, havent gone back this time after ds2 but need to. good luck

Dottydot · 29/07/2006 15:30

Thanks - I've been blaming ds2 but he's now 2.4 so I really had to do something about it!

Feel slightly better now I've treated myself to a coffee - all within the points! Using a smaller cup so I only need 1 sugar. I was really pleased/surprised at how much you can eat that you don't need to worry about, and it's silly really 'cos we eat really healthily meal-wise at home, but I then add tons of crap into each day - which my body is sorely missing at the moment!

stick with it Dottydot, once you see a loss it gets much easier.

are you on full choice or no count? I did full choice and it was fab. Hang on in there XXX

marthamoo · 29/07/2006 18:16

Stick with it - it does get easier. It does sound like caffeine withdrawal - though I remember I was very hungry all the time when I first started WW (that passes). With a bit of luck you'll get a good loss the first week and that will inspire you to keep going.

Oh and I lost 3 stone the first time I did it - so it does work

Dottydot · 29/07/2006 18:29

I'm doing no count, which I like because there's tons of food on the list I like and eat, but I'm finding it hard (already!) to stick to the 21 points a week - am on day 2 and already got through 8 points... I feel like I'm eating much less - I know I am, and I haven't had anything 'naughty', but things like the milk, and a glass of orange juice, make it difficult for me to stick to about 3 extra points a day. Could swap to skimmed milk but I don't want to.

Hm. Will see how the first weigh in goes.

dotty, another vote here for switching to skimmed milk - you really do get used to it very quickly, and I have to say I still drink just as many coffees as before but they are free with skimmed! I also have one sugar so that's two lovely cups of coffee for 1 point

I do no count as well, and I have not let myself feel hungry at ALL!! I think you should eat more - the point of no count is to eat enough to keep you satisfied, so make sure you are full at every meal and snack like mad on fruit in between; it's worked for me, I also had 3 stone to lose and one stone has gone already (7 weeks).

best of luck x

Adorabelle · 29/07/2006 20:03

No advice for you Dottydot, but I know exactly
how you feel.

I need to lose about 2 stone to get me down to 10/12 & I also started my diet 2 days ago. Finding it quite easy at the mo, have switched to de-caf T/coffee, without them i'd be going Maaaaaaad!!

Stay focused & be realistic is what my dh said
to me, sounds like pretty good advice to me.

Good Luck let us all know how you're getting on in a few days.

Dottydot · 03/08/2006 19:59

Oh dear - I've just come back from a week's holiday and need to be re-inspired..! I was fairly good for the first couple of days, but then hot weather and 7 other people eating ice creams meant that I did as well - every day... . Back on the wagon again, but I've got such rubbish resolve/willpower.

Ho hum. Weigh in on Thursday - will be glad if I've managed to keep the 7.5 lbs off...

Hi dottydot, why dont you use canderal or something similar,as it is no points, and have you tried pinky for when you feel like something sweet, they are pink and white marshmallow,in like a wafer, looks a bit like an ice cream between wafers, they are lovely and only half a point..

chipmonkey · 13/08/2006 19:09

Ice cream isn't that bad unless its the Haagen Dazs full-cream stuff. You really want to cut out coffee gradually, Dottydot, cold turkey is too hard!

MarvellouslyMilitantPeachy · 13/08/2006 20:13

Have you got a Lidls? they do a frozen dessert (called healthy something).... frozen yog topped with fruity sauce and sunflower seeds; incredibly yum and iirc 1.5 points

HTH

(My weight still at goal 1 year on btw )

DollyP · 13/08/2006 21:17

IF you are able to get your hands on Skinny Cow ice cream, that is delicious and low on points.

I wouldn't worry about a daily ice cream though - even if it was a Haagen Dazs yummy one. You were on hols after all. If you thought "sod it, i've blown it now, may as well stuff myself silly" (as I have done many times!) then you may have backslid a little but even so, you can regain control and lose the pounds. 7.5lbs is a fantastic loss so you know you can do it. Stick with the weigh ins and meetings if you stay for them- it's all part of the weight loss process. Sorry if that sounds a bit wanky, but I did WW last year and toyed with giving up several times when I had had a bad week and thought I'd gained. I often had but sticking with the weigh ins come what may helped me to reeducate my eating habits, which I needed to do after over 25 years of dieting on and off. Just get back on the points now and you'll continue to lose.

Cheers.

MarvellouslyMilitantPeachy · 14/08/2006 08:20

Deffo don't worry aboput ice cream on hols..... holidays also tend to involve lots of not noticed exercise (swimming, walking around ) etc, and that can more than counteract that effect, I can assure you

Dottydot · 14/08/2006 11:04

Well I did carry ds2 around a lot over hill and down dale - and he's flipping heavy!! But other than that not much exercise...

Still, I'm doing well getting back to normal - have switched to sweetner in coffee, although still can't go with skimmed milk - it's like water!

Am really hoping this week I'll undo any weight gain I might have had last week. Must admit it's getting easier to eat less and I don't feel as starving as I did in the first week. Silly to feel so nervous about a weigh in, but I'm desperate for it to work this time and to keep the weight off.

Thanks all for writing - nice to be able to witter and have support!

Well done Dotty, I am on ww too, lost 9lbs in 3 weeks then had a couple of holidays and dh's 40th birthday so had about 3 or 4 weeks not doing it but managed only to put on 1lb!

Started again last week and the first 2lb has gone. I love WW cos if you stick to it it actually works!

lilmamma · 15/08/2006 09:41

Hi have you tried semi skimmed,i use to use half full fat and add water and found it better, than started on the semi skimmed,i cant stand the skimmed,i have tried but like you its too watery,i only use milk in my porridge,as i dont drink tea or coffee anymore.

Dottydot · 16/08/2006 19:38

Sigh. I'm doing skimmed milk at work for coffees and semi skimmed at home (for cereal mainly) which seems like a compromise.

Am struggling a bit this week - does anyone else find it really hard to accept the fact that you're full? It's such a mental type thing with me - I'm convinced I must need something else to eat, but I don't - I'm full!

Ho hum. Weigh in tomorrow - hope I've absolved myself from all my sinful holiday eating...
