...and I'm struggling! Not with their plan, and I know it was the right thing to do, but I'm feeling very very tired today and had a thumping headache today and this morning. I know I'm probably de-toxing from cutting out my 8 coffees a day all with 2 sugars in, but it's bloody hard!

Have been eating all the right things, and enough, but am just wishing the hours away and hoping I start to feel more normal very soon!

Anyway, just wanted a grumble - I need to lose the weight (ideally about 3 stone) and I do get motivated by the thought of having to go to a meeting and get weighed, and the group person and the group itself seemed really nice and friendly, so I'll persevere!!

Hi Redz - I've had a quick look at the back of my WW card and it says if you are a 'nursing mother' you can't join until the baby is at least 6 weeks old and you need to have had your 6 weeks check with doctor/midwife. Fingers crossed it'll all magically drop off you as soon as baby's here..!

Meanwhile I'm slipping a bit and I need help... We went out for 3 meals this weekend, which is ridiculously unusual - it's usually more like once every few months, but lots of things happened at the same time and I feel sooooooooo huge after eating so many nice meals. Sigh. I did stick to salads at Pizza Express, but the dressing's probably 3 million calories in itself. I don't think I'll have lost the 2lbs I need to this week to have lost a stone.

Thanks Dior - sorry I sounded a bit pathetic... It's been a really hard week - I'm trying to get used to my diagnosis of Coeliac's disease and it's really kicked me in the teeth. I've got enough issues with food as it is without now having to eliminate most of the food I love from my diet forever.

Just feeling sorry for myself - which is usually when I comfort eat, and I'm trying not to! (am getting through a hell of a lot of grapes though - am eating them like sweets!!)

Hi - I lost 3lbs!!! Was really surprised as I didn't think I'd done much different to the week before. So that's 15.5lbs in total! Although I'm having a 'fat' week this week - nibbling at things and haven't quite got my self control in check, so will probably have another low weight loss week. I'm not too bothered if overall I can lose 1 - 2 lbs a week and so far my average is still over 3lbs.

Dotty, you are doing really well. Keep it up!

1.5lbs off this week. I'm trying to be really pleased but am secretly slightly disappointed - although I felt all along this week I wasn't going to do as well. It's flipping hard work sometimes isn't it? Still, that's 17lbs now in 6 weeks, so I'm still on course for losing about 2 and a half stone by Christmas (had originally been aiming for 3 by then but am realising that was possibly too unrealistic!).

Dotty, you have lost over a stone in 6 weeks ! That's brilliant! iF you lose steadily, chances are you'll keep it off. Hang on in there!

vitomum · 09/09/2006 10:47

well done all. that is very encouraging. i joined last week and am bracing myself for the big weigh in tomorrow. I am doing it online so at least my shame is private. I have stuck rigidly to it all week and had been banking points for the night out i had planned for yesterday. But in the cold light of day now looking at what i actually ate in the restaurant last night i have sent my points total stratospheric - chocolate croissant bread and butter pudding anyone! Not a 'wise food choice'. Have i undermined my entire weeks work or is it still possible to lose despite one ginormous blow out in the week? Will be gutted if i am still the same.

Dottydot · 09/09/2006 17:26

I think it's still possible to lose - look at it as a blip, not the end of the world.

I've not tried the on-line WW, but I'd highly recommend going along to a meeting if you can (I'm a convert! ) - I promise the 'shame' factor is low and it's sooooooo good to be with other people all trying to do the same thing. I've already got myself sat with a few familiar faces and they're lovely - a couple older than me and someone my age, and we don't talk about specific weights, just have a grumble or congratulate each other - it's honestly not scary or exposing, just very supportive (and it's an hour out of the house!).

i have put ON one pound - aaaaaaaargh! I have had a big tantrum about it then dutifully got on with measuring out my skimmed milk for the day. Thinking logically about it the week befor i started i had done Atkins for the week so my initial weight was probably distorted by being dehydrated. Oh well, it is dissapointing but i am taking inspiration from all those who say it will work.

Dottydot · 10/09/2006 17:00

awww - Vitomum - sorry to hear about your gain and it is depressing - I'm with you! But if you stick to the plan it will start to work, honestly! Drink TONS of water as well - that's made a real difference for me. I make myself drink 2 glasses of water for every cup of coffee I have. Fills me up and my skin's tons better. (OK, sometimes at the weekend I don't stick to that, but Monday - Friday I do!).

Good luck for this week and let us know how you get on.

Hi - yes I'm doing the no count - it's a list of food that you can eat as much of as you like - no weighing or calorie counting which suits me brilliantly.

Having said that I'm not confident about tonight - have a couple of health worries at the moment and I'm responding by eating... Have just had a bag of very illegal crisps. But the good thing about going every week to the meetings is that if you fall a bit (like I have this week) you can start again very quickly, with lots of encouragement from the group and leader.

Good luck - and I'll be posting later tonight with my probably depressing result..! (But am already determined to get back on the wagon!).

Oh and so far I've not been exercising - was only going to introduce that when/if I start to plateau!
